Tomorrow, in bengal we perform saraswati puja, the worship of of the goddess of knowledge and music, a woman. Those doublefaced morons will worship a woman inside pandals, and harass another one outside.

Well said! Clap  THAT is the crux of Indian men's hypocrisy about women! Worship the Goddess and molest the girl/woman passing by...Angry

You know for once I am happy she went away from this cruel world. However she may have wanted to live, I don't think it would have been physically possible for her to survive.

But yeah, the way she died, is a huge question mark on our system. Has our country really become so Godless? Albeit, I wanted to ask, what actually happened after that? What happened to the supposed Fast-Track Court? No verdict has been passed, and it has been 3 months since the sin.

And I believe, before pointing fingers at others, we need to introspect and need to realize it is us people who are making such scenarios. It is the type of conditioning that we grow up with that leads to such brutal acts. We need to change our thinking, and then only can we change the face of our country.

It's a shame the capital city is the leading in such victimization.

Albeit, Nirbhaya, may your soul rest in peace, and may God give you the safety and security in heaven that we failed to provide you with.

I don't think so.  Voices were raised, people demonstrated and through them they embarrassed and forced the government to do something.  Unfortunately, change does not happen overnight.  But had the brave souls not raised their voice then Nirbhaya's case would have been forgotten and would have been another statistic like the others before her.   Remember, a raging river always starts off as a gentle stream.

...here r  afew lines from T.S.Eliot's poem '"the hollow men";

...we are the  hollow men
...we are the  stuffed  men
...Leaning  together
...Headpieces filled with straw.Alas!
...our    dried voices,when
...we  whisper  together
...Are quiet and meaningless
...As wind in dry grass
...Or rat's feet over broken glass
...In our  dry  celler.
...Shape without  form,shade  without  colour,
...Paralysed  force ,gesture  without  motion; )

well u can refer it to any1 desrving it;

Coimbatore minor raped by uncle, friends for 10 months

COIMBATORE: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her maternal uncle, his three friends, including a 72-year-old retired male nurse, and a teenager over the last 10 months in Coimbatore.
The schoolgirl's torture began in April last year, but she kept mum as her tormentors threatened to kill her if she talked about it anyone. However, unable to bear the mental and physical torture, she approached the police on Friday. All the five, including the 17-year-old youth who was in love with the girl, have been arrested.
The accused are the girl's uncle and realtor G Gopalakrishnan, 59; R Karuppasamy, 59, also a realtor; S Karuppasamy, 45, who owns a mike and sound system shop; T Balu alias Balasundaram, 72, who retired as a male nursing assistant from the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital; and the 17-year-old youth, a wall painter.
Citing the girl's complaint, police said when she fell ill on April 29, 2012, Gopalakrishnan took her to Balasundaram for treatment. The retired male nursing assistant gave her some sedatives, and both allegedly raped her at Balasundaram's house.
The girl was then taken to a farmhouse belonging to R Karuppasamy at Pollachi in July. There again, she was raped by her uncle and the realtor, the girl said in her complaint. The duo threatened to kill her if she spoke about it to anyone. Gopalakrishnan next took her to the house of another relative, S Karuppasamy, in Madukkarai, where again she was raped.
Meanwhile, the girl fell in love with the 17-year-old boy who lived in the neighbourhood. The girl mustered courage to approach police when the other four accused put pressure on her to sever her relationship with him. Police said the girl told them that she was in love with the boy, and they have had consensual sex. The boy too was arrested on charges of rape because the girl is a minor, they said.
Police have booked all five under Sections 376 (g) (minor girl gang rape) and 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and under Sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act 2012
