20 Innocent Children6 Staff Memebers December 14, 2012 No Longer Here With Us Today! A devastating shooting in an elementary school in Connecticut, USA had seperated these innocent lives from their loved ones and from this Earth forever. Twenty small children between the ages of 5-10 lost their lives while about 8-10 adults accompanied them. Some miles away from the school lay the deceased suspects mother in her household. It was a heartbreaking day for many parents, families and the entire world.

Friends, let us keep them all in our thoughts and prayers. Please take out some time in your day to pray for all these innocent lives taken away so soon. They did not deserve this at all.

A young woman was brutally assaulted by a group of evil men! An inhuman act indeed! Many such incidences... Our world has become an unsafe place! Our own man kind have become our enemy, while Mother Nature watches us! Yet has she spared us?

Its striking to think that just a while ago we were all talking about December 21, 2012

And the day is fast approaching. In a few more days, we will encounter what is considered as the "Dooms Day" when the entire world is expected to come to an end! Yet the question is, will we live through it? The Year of Survival - 2012 - CC Survey As had been addressed before, the Mayans had long predicted that December 21st 2012 was the day the world would come to a sudden end (except a few places around the world).

How true that holds will be found out very soon although majority of the people highly doubt it. We all are so young and have so much more to accomplish in life. The world ending now just doesn't seem right.

Yet, in the last few years, we have seen extensive amount of devastating disasters striking nations around the world. A recent one being Hurricane Sandy that did a terrible amount of damage on the East Coast of the United States. Also, as I write this there was a huge snowstorm in Minnesota and the Mid-West areas of the United States. Weather.com's headline said 30 inches of snow in 30 seconds. Many earthquakes hit the nation this year as well. Places like Costa Rica, Guatemala, Italy, and other places around the world.

With all these natural disasters (plenty more than the ones just mentioned above) it is quite scary indeed and may actually lead us to believe at least something significant is going to happen on December 21st 2012.

Only time will tell what the future holds for all of us. In the meantime, the Crazy Creative Team brings to you an eventful countdown thread that will keep you all on your toes till the end of the world day. We will discuss one natural disaster that has had a significant effect per day as a means of count down to the day!

Let us all gather here on a daily basis to ensure all of us are safe and to share any gruesome experience, we've faced! Let us all ensure, we are all safe and sound on December 22nd! We hope to see you all here in this thread again with all those smiling faces!

January 11: A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck the West Coast of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at a depth of 20.5 km.

February 2: A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck near island of Efate, Vanuatu at a depth of 23.1 km. Later, a magnitude 6.0 aftershock followed, at a depth of 21.7 km.

March 20: A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck Oaxaca, Mexico, at a depth of 20 km.

April 11: A magnitude 8.6 earthquake hit Indonesia, off northern Sumatra at a depth of 22.9 km followed by several aftershocks including an 8.2.

May 28: A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck about 117 km east of Santiago del Estero, Argentina, at a depth of 588 km.

June 18: A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean 28 km southeast of Ofunato, Japan, at a depth of 36 km.

July 3: A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck New Zealand, near the Cock Strait, at a depth of 236.1 km. The USGS, however, listed this quake as 6.3.

August 14: A magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit the Sea of Okhotsk, at a depth of 625.9 km.

September 5: A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck Nicoya Peninsula in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, at a depth of 35 km. At least three deaths were reported.

October 28: A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck the Haida Gwaii region, Canada, at a depth of 20 km. This was later followed by a magnitude 6.3 aftershock, at a depth of 8.2 km, and a magnitude 6.2 aftershock on October 29, at a depth of 10 km.

November 7: A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Guatemala, near Mexico, at depth of 41.6 km,

December 7: A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Honshu, Japan, at a depth of 36.1 km. A small tsunami of 1m was recorded.

Water...another element which represents the substance of the world.

Water is needed to live as one must drink it or take it in some other form to survive. Be it plant, animals or humans, all need water to survive!

It is often associated with emotions, art and philosophy. Many artists seek inspiration in the refuge of water.

"He who gets everything from the Water Goddess will lose everything to her again"

Indeed it is true, Water gives much but takes away everything and much more in due course of time.

Many countries across the globe have witnessed disasters relating to water, some of these are highlighted below:

April 5th - US Coast Guard sinks tsunami "ghost ship"

July 7th - Dozens killed in Russia flooding

July 14th - Thousands flee Japanese floods

October 29th - Severe flooding as Sandy strikes

Britain experiences the worst weather conditions this winter

Fire

February 15, 2012: 300 killed in a prison fire in Honduras.

May 20, 2012: Russian demonstration jet crashes into a volcano in Indonesia killing 50 people.

November 24, 2012: Dhaka fire #1 in Bangladesh kills 120 people.

November 25, 2012: Second fire breaks out in Bangladesh in a clothes factory.

December 17, 2012: 10 car bombings and several other bomb attacks targetting officials and civilians were set out all over Iraq killing 32 and injuring over 100.

December 18, 2012: Two different fires in Cape Town, South Africa, burnt down shacks and left 320 people displaced.

Fire. If it can save us with its warmth, it can harm as well.. Even kill us. Volcanic eruptions, bombing, plane crashes or dangerous fires, this year has seen it all.

Triple Typhoons

Typhoons Saola, Damrey and Haikui subsequently hit Philippines, leaving 242,000

stranded, while affected more than 1.2 million people. Taiwan and China were also

impacted by the typhoons killing over 30 people in both nations.

Hurricane Sandy

Over 250 people killed across seven countries with over $ 65.6 billion damage! Many

were left without power for many days.

Typhoon Bopha

Over 540 people dead with over 1000 injured!

These are only a few Wind related natural disasters to name, yet they had massive impacts, leaving many dead, displaced, and even with no power.

With these powerful wind related natural disasters ripping through various part of the world, should we be worried about something?

Is it simply a coincidence?

Is it a game played by Mother Nature to signal the

END OF THE WORLD

Is it our Fault?

After discussing all the above different elements lets take a pause

Let us take a deep breath and look around

The melting Green land shield ;melting Antarctic cap

thermo expansion of water due to rising levels of heat in world's oceans

Melting glaciers in Himalayas,Canada and Europe

It is known fact that world sea levels are rising at about 1 mm a year and can lead to significant loss of land mass by 2100

There is lot of debate about underwater earth bed with hot lava and natural CO2 addition in environment

But we cannot ignore the human activity and our role in accelerating this crisis.

Lets look at that blue sky above us

But late at night have you ever looked up to see milky way

Or to count stars and only get disappointed in turn as no longer are stars as bright or milky way no longer magical like a vast sparkling river of stars in the sky.

This magical picture was taken in wilderness of Canadian National park in Jasper known as one of the most preserved natural area of the world.

Think why can't we get similar picture at may be New York or even A small city in Indian sub content

what is the reason?

Why have our children lost this wonder of nature

It is called Light pollution

Imagine our obsession with artificial light.We boast cities like Las Vegas whose spectacular light display is even visible from space!!!!!!!

The various effects of night pollution are as follows

Effect on hormones essential for sleep thereby causing huge effects on human health

Decreases scientists ability to see distant stars

a diffused hazy glow over cities knows as sky glow can cause catastrophes in form of interruption in navigation of marine and nocturnal species !!!

Thousands of birds die each year by striking in tall buildings with this optical illusions

This is form of pollution which is so under discussed in society

We need to preserve our environment from our own damaging ways

Science and spirituality both have their own theory Geek , whatever happens in the future will happen regardless of the speculations and theories. I'm looking forward to December 22nd when all the explanations appear Tongue .
