was able to catch this...

let me tell atif fans if u dont already know, the guy is even better looking in

person than on tv or pictures.

and he has tremendous stage presence.

the show started late 6pm instead of 4. so had to leave halfway

but it was full value entertainment. the kathmanduites LOVED him.

he was sweet and humble and acknowledged the fans love and

thanked them for coming to see him, also said he was in town

for two days and would anyone like to show him around?

but he said the guide had to be pretty and intelligent. im both,

but unfortunately also taken πŸ˜†πŸ˜† so  with great difficulty i prevented

myself from offering my services. guide services.

he was dressed really well with a well fitted greyish down jacket

and a stylish cowl neck rust colour sweater showing and light beige

trousers with boots.

he must be the best looking rocker ever. perfect from top to toe.

singing not bad either.

the security police in their droves afterwards were busy filming him on their

mobiles instead of minding the crowd who actually were very well behaved.

at least till i was there.

thanks for the replies...all

and anaad, i hope you do get to go...

saddamji

well, i was thinking the atmosphere on sur shetra is such,

u get the impression atif is an angry young man, always

ready to pounce and growl.

the concert showed a very different personality. he and his

band members are so chilled out. a happy zany bunch of

guys having fun singing and entertaining. then again, this is

like couple of months AFTER Sur Kshetra shooting and all

its tensions and unpleasantness, maybe Atif is the kind who

doesnt carry baggage around, i mean the emotional kind.

They might have just got to Kathmandu after doing a Dubai

concert but there was no trace of tiredness, And this is only

my impression doesnt hv to be true but i got the feeling Atif

was very touched and not just a little surprised at how many

fans he had in Nepal and how vocal they were shouting and

screaming for him. And he went all out to make sure everyone

got to see him properly. The VIPs or whatver, down the middle

aisle could see him fully but he took care to divide the time

equally in left,  right and middle of stage and stay there and sing

so everyone could see him properly. He made eye contact

with audience and would time again nod and point out to someone

who was extra jovial and dancing or calling his name.

even the

people who paid 1000 bucks as opposed to more expensive

1500 walas who were seated in the stands wayyy back...he couldnt

see them in the night but heard their shouts and acknowledged them

and asked them to switch on their mobiles/wave so he could see

 them...

it was like a myriad shining lights back there 100 feet away

had the tickets been cheaper the stadium would hv been packed,

because his fans are mostly young school going kids mostly

boys who try to emulate him and their parents probably earn like

8000 bucks/month so no question of them doling out 1000 so their

child can go see a singer. when i came out,  there were

boys packed in front of the side gates trying to get a peek at least

from the cracks and some were sitting outside just listening to

the concert.

energy levels were very high and positive inside the stadium

and im sure mostly everyone really enjoyed.

one of his band members the  plump jovial one on guitar

was given a cup of tea while waiting for atif to make his entrance,

and he was smiling and offering his tea cup to the audience

jokingly...theyre a bunch of nice happy guys really.

πŸ˜†Saddamji

I wrote whatever i could, bhai. Concert is not South Africa
ki Gold mine where i can keep digging and bringing out
more stuff. hahahaha.

To answer yr question, no i did not meet Atif. we went to
the stadium at 3 (it was scheduled for 4)
thinking to get good spot and sat
belo - ing rotis till 6pm becoz it started then. that too
had to forcefully listen to local ethnic band, first the crowd
was polite and applauded but later they started groaning,
when yet another music piece was played instead of
real show. we were all close to developing Attention deficit
disorder by that time, feeling restless.

I did read an interview in a daily which said 80 percent
of concert attendees were girls,
Not true. I would say equal 50% guys/girls. Some of the girls
could scream tho. One girl almost busted my ear drum by
screaming so hard. i had to move away. and one policeman
hurriedly put on his helmet to protect his ear drums. his duty
was just in front of a bunch of girls. πŸ˜†

No idea which hotel he stayed also.
