Biography: As a young boy, he performed in many small school productions. A while later, he was cast as young David Copperfield in "David Copperfield". Actress Jamie Lee Curtis pointed out to Radcliffe's mother that he could be Harry Potter. Not too long afterwards, Daniel was indeed cast as Harry by director Chris Columbus. His role as Harry in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" caused him to become quite popular.
Daniel, like a lot of youngsters, likes to play pranks. He has two dogs named Binka and Nugget and they are both border terriers. He originally dislikes the Harry Potter books when he first read them. When he was 8, he tried to read "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" but he never finished it until he became part of the film. His favourite Harry Potter book so far is "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".
He has never seen "The Tailor of Panama" which he was a part of.
He enjoys playing on his Playstation, listening to music, writing, running, football (soccer) and some other sports. He is a fan of indie rock. In February of 2002 he was awarded "Best Newcomer" at the Variety Club 'Award' Ceremonies. He was voted "Person of the Year 2002" by Time Kids. The casting agent for the Harry Potter films was one of Dan's father's friends and on seeing Dan, he thought he would be perfect for the part of Harry Potter. He auditioned for it and got it.
