Shanmugarajan writes down Pirivom Sandippom and introduces Revathy as the protagonist of this story and is the daughter of his sister. Revathy lost her parents (her father died later) and came to his house. He takes a young Revathy (along with his daughter, Jyothi) to his house. Shanmugarajan informs his wife, Dhanam, about the situation and he told Sunderesan (Revathy's dad) that he'll take care of his daughter as his. Dhanam agrees.
Shanmugam continues, Dhanam didn't like Revathy because she was more beautiful (fair skin) and intelligent than Jyothi. Shanmugarajan says Jyothi's unconditional love for Revathy is her beauty. Dhanam upsets Revethy .. Jyothi reminds Revathy about her singing later and whether she's rehearsing in her head. Revathy says she'll do it without practice if Jyothi's by her side. Jyothi says she didn't like how her mother behaved but she remained silent because Revathy would get angry. Revathy tells her it's her way of showing love. Revathy and Jyothi joke about singing in angry/ sad state later.
Shanmugarajan praises their love one another and he couldn't imagine a life without them. However, as a father of two girls, he knew he had to learn to live without them and it was proved by Revathy's wedding proposal. Abirami says everyone in her family likes Revathy and her son, Prabhu, likes her even more. Shanmugarajan says he rejected the proposal from Abirami because her son was mentally unstable. Prabhu shouts police and how they've come to get him in the wedding mandap .. Shanmugarajan carries on, however, marriage took place and as a result Revathy ruined her own life. Uma (Prabhu's aunt) tells Prabhu to tie the thaali and assures him everything is fine. Shamugarajan and family are disappointed and hurt. Shanmugarajan says he lost sleep as a result of this and during this period god gave him another shock .. Jyothi fell in love with Abirami's brother, Karthik. Karthik and Jyothi share some close scenes and he (Shanmugarajan) tried to stop their wedding and Revathy joined in to help.
Jyothi asks Revathy for help and she tells her not to worry and she will talk to Arvind (loves her) and silence him using money. She talks to Arvind and says she'll be happy if both them get married and she believes Jyothi will be much happier married to him than Karthik. Later, Karthik asks her whether their marriage will take place and she guarantees it and says it should give Jyothi a good life for her and happiness to her family. Shanmugarajan continues, who can change god's decision .. Jyothi- Karthik marriage took place (in support of Jyothi's anni, Sangeetha).
Shanmugarajan says what Revathy did against Jyothi listening to him caused them to separate and become enemies. Jyothi questions Revathy and she admits to doing it listening to their dad and to save his life. Jyothi drags Revathy with her .. before reaching there, Shanmugarajan takes his life away as a punishment. Revathy and Jyothi break down seeing Shanmugarajan and cry uncontrollably along with Dhanam and others. Later, Jyothi accuses Revathy for the death of her father and how she tried to make him lie and make herself as the good person .. he probably suffered unable to tell the truth and lie. Jyothi says she's never going to see her dad's face again and slaps her.
Shanmugarajan asks what would have happened/ what's happening/ what's going to happen between them as they live as enemies under one roof? He, like us, is excited to see what happens when Pirivom Sandippom starts on 14/11/12 and whether Revathy lost Jyothi or vice vera? Revathy's going to continue the story as his daughter ..
