Such a beautiful love story, started so well, packed in with lovely characters, brilliant screenplay, fantastic performances from Barun and Sanaya. Everything looked beautiful. Arnav and Khushi's romance mesmerized the young and the old.

Shyam with a lipstick wrote on the mirror. Khushi all dazed with Arnav's sensuous stares at once felt as if Arnav is calling her upstairs. We all felt the spring in her feet. In the same token Arnav felt that this is the time - this is the moment he should tell Khushi that he loves her so much. He goes up, opens the door and what he saw precipitated us all from our dreams and skies after skies we kept on falling into episodes after episodes of odius nonsense and utter disgrace.

What a fall after that!

The only shining light was the hope that something will turn up, something so convincing and elegant that will wipe away all of what Arnav had seen. Fine, Arnav was angry, but we thought he would think, how could Khushi do this? But no. We saw none of that. All the time we wondered that perhaps he will start suspecting Shyam of inking this plot against Khushi and Arnav. But no. But we waited. We sat through enjoying Holi, then Khushi's dabba venture, then Khushi's home tuition ventures, then Khushi-Arnav at Gupta House, Preeto's wedding. The thought never escaped as to how this will unfold. Then a wee-bit of Khushi's melodramatic romedy of committing suicide after being inspired by a TV show host who planted a strand of thought in Khushi's mind. Though none of these sequences were relevant to the plot, the hope in us never perished.

Finally, Khushi and Arnav confronted on what happened that night. Some good arguments were thrown. But Khushi could never explain herself. Huge disappointment.

Khushi and Arnav go home. Khushi troubled over Arnav's suspicion. And then all the news started floating that Arnav will be gone for 40 days. Which he did. This was camouflaged by getting him kidnapped. Although looked a bit out of the ordinary, but then we thought, this is a story, let's follow what they are saying. Slow as snail, the episodes inched towards the reality that Shyam is the culprit. Then again one thought that perhaps now Arnav will soon get the hand on Shyam's deeds. But no. Things began to look desperate. So a quintessential Arshi moment was thrown in on their attempt at making love in the small hut. Arnav's smashing looks and Khushi's vulnerability reached a high point but the facts were missing. One longed to see things resolved. But no.

Things then came to such a point where it was more than certain that Shyam was the man behind kidnapping Arnav, tried to kill him, tortured him and also tried to emerge unscathed. We thought fine. After 4 dozen or so episodes where the audience were shown evidence after evidence of Shyam's deeds one wondered that'll all come to light. But Shyam not only destroyed all that evidence but rather challeneged Khushi. Even so, Khushi had trunkloads of things to say, but the whole confrontation was handled so poorly that the only thing one saw was frame after frame of focused faces of characters either looking glum or so still that it may well have been a photoshoot in motion. That's all. The whole track of 2 weeks ended in Arnav slapping Shyam and throwing him out of the house. No evidence? fine we can live with it. But not one argument carried weight in either Khushi-NK's defence or offence. It went a bit undigested. We started running out of patience but the hope was still there.

Then started Anjali's drama (now the show was in a real quick-sand, sinking itself, week after week). Incoherent, unconvincing and drudgy. Then came Dadi. A time not quite evaporated from our memories. Then re-entered Shyam. The baby killed and all. still no evidence, even the clips from the video camera did not fully confirm that it was Shyam. Yet this time Anjali believes them all! Wow! How did this happen? Khudrat ka karishma? Wow whatever you call it!

Shyam out Sheetal in. Khushi could not even go for a decent honeymoon with Arnav than Arav came in.

Show almost killed. Arnav and Khushi's beautiful love story was never so abused and insulted.

The actors started seeing sense in all this and found themselves in the trough of popularity. Deepali, Shaleen and now Arnav. All are planning to leave the show.

The lesson learnt from this is:

Never stretch a story. If it started with point A and meanders through point Z. Then it should stop and all will be happy. Why? because Arnav's past with Sheetal is too unlike his character. Arnav would not have been this way. Instead of getting a man for Anjali or putting more muscle and zest to the story they degenrated Arshi's love by bring Sheetal and Aarav. Very very suicidal.

The fact is, even with Arnav there in the show, the show is lifeless, constipated and moribund.

Read this as an Obituary.

IPKKND may you Rest In Peace.

StarTV and Gul, the only thing that you can do to salvage this situation would be to release DVDs of all the episodes and sell them. You will make decent money. Running after TRPs and dragging storylines has given you nothing, may better sense prevail over you when you plan a next venture.

I used to say it all along - but people on this forum pinned me down saying that I am a fan of Madhubala, that I am negative etc etc.

Now everyone is feeling that sense of frustration.

On a better note, I would recommend you watch Downton Abbey - it is superb. Also you will learn a lot of the social changes that took place in Britain after the WW1. There is romance, etc etc but a lot of other themes - simply brilliant.
