Kareena will NOT be an Aamir Khan or Vidya Balan. Her films will NOT be consistent nor will she gives many hits.
Why? Coz she has no script sense. And to give hits, you have to choose GOOD films.
BUT, her films will get good openings, as they have been getting.

Honestly, I'm shocked as to WHY the audience, including myself, gives her chances again and again. Her films have disappointed me so often, but here I am, excited for yet another glimpse of Kareena Kapoor on the big screen.

In this sense, she can be compared to Salman in their script sense. Terrible, both of em.
Salman went through a phase of giving the worst flops, but one Dabangg later, all that changed.

Kareena also has this inconsistency. She does terrible films, good films, bad films, average films, great films. There's no pattern.
But Kareena is a star, and a big one at that. Always juggling between #1 and #2 with Katrina for the past 5 years.

I'm confident she's not going anywhere UNTIL she herself decides to take a break.

Kareena cannot be compared to Salman in terms of script sense. Salman knows what works for him while Kareena hasnt found her USP. Only actress who can be compared to Salman in terms of script sense is Katrina.

I agree

Salman may come across as careless when it comes to scripts but he is not, he purposely picks it because it works for him, for katrina ditto!

she rejected barfi because she knew it had intense acting to do! smart choice again

with kareena, as ksh said, i think she really hasn't yet found what connects her with the audience the best! she picks what has worked before and that seems to be her focus more recently than the script itself!

Disagree. Because like Kareena, Salman also had the flop phase. He just recently found his USP, but what about before? Veer? Main Aur Mrs Khanna? London Dreams?

Well Salman atleast found his USP since the last 2-3 years. That was after 20 years in the industry. But lets not forget men have it easier than women. So a man who found his USP at 43-44 can still rule till 50-55. If we need to give Kareena another 8 years in the industry to find her USP then she will be 40 by the time she realizes it. What are her chances of survival as a top bracket heroine till 40? Or being able to utilize her USP after 40?

Who said she's gonna take that long?
Who can predict that future?

Exactly my point, that Salman has also been inconsistent with scripts. But he had his fans ready when he finally got it right.
So far, Kareena's films have opened with decent to great openings. Tells me, people go in.
Heroine solidifies my belief. She single handedly, on her own power for whatever opening that film got. From promotions to the film itself. Yes it crashed later, but the film opened strong for a female centric film.

^^^^^hmm...i dont know KSH. I mean, kareena was the first choice for even Ram Leela before she went off and got married. But my comment was strictly In ref to Ash vs. Kareena. Given that Ash (rather than losing weight is looking like an Aunty and with her advance age, im sure shes gonna wanna have a kid or two before passing 40+) isnt working, kareena is the next best option. But, who cares? I dont even watch movies anymore LOL I like the gossip.

And comparing Kareena to Salman...well...lets just not go there. I wont blame the i dustry for double standards but rather the public. Theyre Ok with an old man but not a woman who's nearing 40...but then given the content produced by bollywood, itd be hard to find a role suitable for a 35+ woman. Anyway, i digress...

No no no...never gonna happen. She can never have the salman srk or amir fan base. These guys established themselves over 20+ years ago and are SOLID. A few blips in their careers here and there isnt going to finish their career. Bitter pill to swallow, yes, but its the trith

And heroine was a Madhur and Kareena project...

Enycedoll, if you ever watch Pakistani dramas, you'll notice that that biggest female stars ARE in their 40s! And they're not doing Aunty ji side roles, but lead characters! And the stories also reflect that maturity.

How I wish Bollywood also showcased romances outside the 20s age group.

Those are dramas, diff content and role requirements. Theyre not potraying girls in college or action women..theyre everyday women, who are above the age of 30+.
