SP did not have a valid reaosn to end the show.. so started their tactics:

Thursday/Friday - Sobti is on a break right?.. Fans email/Call them just to ask how long the break is, whether he is coming back, fans at this point do not request to end the show.

Saturday/Sunday - News comes out that he has quit, films, etc.. through various SP works, tweets etc.. Fans now email/call to end the show at this point..

For all the weekends that the fans were driven up the wall (Barun's exit in Sep, clarification-reclarification by 4idiots, IPK has run its course etc), this is sweet revenge by the fans. Send the channel into a tizzy...they dont know what to do know. They are cutting the calls now
