Chapter 3
**Have your speakers on!!**
The questions pondered in her head. She wanted to know what he knew. Locking the car, she hurried back inside in hopes to find him. But soon, she was surrounded by Simmi and Rinni and few friends they made just then.
"Where were you? We got worried." Simmi asked.
"Nothing, what's up?" Sharon replied, diverting the topic.
Rey joined them. Seeing him, they all smiled. And behind him, two other people emerged. Sharon went numb seeing them. And not just Sharon, Simmi and Rinni did as well. She knew that by their sudden tight grip on her hand at either side. Sharon was more shocked because she saw Shivam and then the guy who had saved her. She didn't even know his name; she realized at that point.
Rey said, "Guys, meet my two best friends. Shivam and Swayam. And this is Swayam's house."
All three of them gave a very feeble smile, just for name sake. Someone called Rey and he left to attend his other friends. Swayam stayed back because he did not want Shivam wandering around any of them. Shivam stood there, remembering the slap. He gave a threat.
"You'll pay for it." He was about to step closer to Sharon when Swayam held him back.
"Don't." he ordered looking right into his eyes. He didn't want to fight with Swayam and thus looked at Sharon. "Just remember my words." With that, he jerked his hand from Swayam's hold and left.
Rinni said, "Thank you." To Swayam. He nodded and said, "I'll make sure he never bothers any of you again." Mostly, he said that keeping his eyes on Sharon. She saw that as she looked back at him with gratitude. She could see a new light' a new hope for her life. On this festival of lights, it turns out that God of Light finally shines his blessing' Noor-E-Khuda!

The rest of the night, Sharon tried to find Swayam to talk to him. But he was either surrounded by others or she was surrounded by a group. Everyone was taking leave and by the end, it was time for them to leave as well. She looked back at him from a distance, wondering if they'd ever meet again. As they sat in the car, she turned on her iPod and plugged in the earphones to push everything out of her mind. Only, the song playing on the shuffle made it hard for that to happen.

As soon
as it started, she wondered. This cannot be a coincidence! As she sat in
the back seat, she closed her eyes, letting the music seep in her heart. On the
other hand, Swayam retired to his room after bidding adieu to Rey and Shivam. After
changing, he sat on his bed and opened his laptop to check his mails and stuff.

Eventually, he wasn't focused on the mails. His thoughts went back to Sharon and the confused state of his heart. The same questions he asked himself. Why was her pain hurting him so much?

took in a deep breath as she remembered Swayam as well. His mention of Shivam
made her think of him as well.

thought how broken her world was since past few days and after meeting Swayam,
the pain did start to disappear. His world had mixed with her, even when she
knew that she might never meet him again in her life.

Swayam continued exploring his confused state. Why was he so concerned for her? He remembered how she had demanded an answer from him for saving her in that manner.

He remembered seeing her pain filled eyes. A unique pair that he never saw before in anyone's eyes. They reflected back to him in such a strong way that he could not ignore it. For Sharon, a smile spread softly on her lips as she remembered how he had scolded her for wanting to be not alive. The air blew in threw the window and she felt all the more alive.

stopped in front of a house and Sharon got out bidding bye to her friends. Inside
her room, standing by the window, she looked out.

She played with the curtain, dancing along the song happily. Not worried about anything. She was welcoming in the new feelings. Just few hours ago, she was afraid to love again. Now? Not so much. The honesty and the care she saw in stranger eyes had forced her to change.

Swayam looked in the mirror. When he reopened his eyes after a blink, he saw Sharon there' Smiling! Looking at him with the sweetest look on her face. And then, she disappeared in thin air. He reached out for her but then slapped his head realizing his silliness. Then, he realized, he was falling for a girl he did not know. He was falling for a girl whom he might as well never meet again. Wait, he wasn't. He had fallen for her! That was the answer to his questions on why he cared. In that one moment they had in the parking lot, the world had stopped for him. For them.

. The hurt feeling was not there anymore. She took the photo out of the frame and burnt it away. He was a nobody for her. She could live the rest of the life in just hope to see Swayam again. Even if they won't meet, she knew she can live on in life; just because of that one thing he had said. Just for that one moment they shared.

Swayam pulled out his cell phone and looked at a picture he had taken of Sharon secretly. That was his prized possession. Not knowing anything about her pained him. Yet, just like Sharon, he knew he could live his life just with the thoughts of that one moment. Just in that one hope of light.

Sharon went over to Simmi's house as they planned a get together. They really didn't have much to do over the Diwali breaks. She was unaware of the fact that Simmi had called Rey and asked him to come hang out with them and bring Swayam along. Rey, oblivious to Shivam and Sharon's relationship, invited him to come along but Swayam objected.
"No, he's not coming."
"Why?" Rey asked confused.
"Why don't you tell him?" Swayam said looking at Shivam, obviously showing that he was mad at him.
"Sharon is that girl and she's Simmi's friend." Shivam said least caring.
As soon as Rey heard it, he was pissed as well. "Seriously Shivam, enough is enough now. You have to change for good."
"Whatever." Was all Shivam said and left the house to do his own usual things. Swayam and Rey were getting tired of it. Both of them proceeded towards Simmi's house. Swayam silently praying that he gets to meet Sharon again.

"Sharon, can you get the door?" Simmi shouted from her room. Sharon was watching TV in the living room while Simmi fixed her room. Before Simmi had shouted, she hadn't even heard the door bell ringing. She was that immersed in the show. Reluctantly, she got up and opened the door, not once shifting her eyes from the TV screen.
She thought it would be the courier person. She put her hand forward and shook it as if asking for the signing board. It was Swayam in front of her and he was confused. He looked sideways at Rey who was just as confused.
She said getting impatient, "Arey, parcel to do." Swayam forwarded his hand to say, "It's us." But instead, she grabbed his hand thinking it's the clip board. Swayam was thoroughly flushed. Rey was stifling a laugh. Sharon still hadn't looked at them, still thinking it's delivery guy and eyes still glued at the TV screen.
Seeing something she was eager to see, she jumped up and back down excited. "Yes! Finally he tells her that he loves her. Gosh, he was such a stupid."
Rey couldn't hold his laughter any longer. He burst out laughing, making Sharon narrow her brows. Confused, she turned to look at the door and found Rey and Swayam standing there instead of the delivery people. It was now her turn to be thoroughly flushed!! Swayam cleared his throat, causing her to look at him. He motioned towards his hand and she realized she was holding it.
Immediately, she let go of it. "I- I'm so sorry."
Rey was quick to recover. "That's alright. It was fun. May we?" He asked, looking in as if to ask if they can come in.
"Yea, come in." she said and moved away from the door so they can step in. She hit herself on the head, calling herself stupid for making a fool out of her own self.
Inside, Rey repeated the story to Rinni and Simmi and all three of them were laughing hard, having the laugh of the day while Swayam and Sharon sat there uncomfortably and blushing. It was Sharon who was blushing more because of her silly actions.
