Ameesha Patel 'pays to appear on film magazine cover'

Ameesha Patel has been criticised for reportedly paying to appear on the cover of Filmfaremagazine.

The 37-year-old can be seen on a false cover at the front of the magazine, which overlays the real cover of Aamir Khan.

The paid cover of Patel had to be reprinted after early editions featured the misspelling: "I'm the hotest".

"Did Filmfare fall short of a proofreader? And which delusional world does Ameesha live in?"wrote @kruthixx on Twitter.

The actress has also come under fire for appearing in a series of billboards across Mumbai as brand ambassador for sunglasses range Glam Star.

Film critic Rajeev Masand wrote: "Having posed for a photo-session after squeezing herself into too-tight clothes - including one hoarding on which she appears to be bursting out of a swimsuit three sizes too small for her - the lady has proudly declared that her 'new look' has won her many admirers.

"Unlikely that many of those admirers are filmwallahs, who have reportedly been sniggering at parties about those 'tasteless' pictures."

Other commentators have questioned the authenticity of Glam Star, pointing out that the brand has no website or outlets and the sunglasses cannot be purchased anywhere.

"Glam Star is a silly excuse for her to pose in next to nothing and seduce directors/producers for roles," commented @bipashafever.

Patel will be seen next as part of the ensemble cast for Race 2.

'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' Rocks Pakistan Box Office; Total Collection At ?60 Crore

Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is not only doing great at Indian box office but also has rocked neighbouring country Pakistan, collecting PKR 93 lakh which is highest opening ever in the country.

"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma and produced by Yash Raj Films was released in about 2,500 screens worldwide on Tuesday, on the occasion of Diwali festival and has been receiving good response from the audience around the globe.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday that "JTHJ" collected PKR 93 lakhs from Thursday's preview and Friday release, taking the overseas collection at approximately ?26 crores ($ 4.7 million).

"#JTHJ takes a Hurricane-like start in Pakistan. Collects PKR 93 lakhs from Thu previews + Fri release. Highest opening ever in Pakistan," tweeted Taran, adding, "#JTHJ *Pakistan* Thu previews + Fri: PKR 93 lakhs [$ 96,976]. HISTORIC."

Tanishaa Mukerji: 'Shah Rukh Khan film success down to Salman Khan'

Tanishaa Mukherji has said that Jab Tak Hai Jaan's box office success is due to a tie-in with Salman Khan's last release.

The Son of Sardaar producer suggested that Shah Rukh Khan's film would not have done well if it had not been sold as part of a package with Ek Tha Tiger.🤣

Mukherji wrote on Twitter: "In #SOS @ajaydevgn came by 2 horses. How did SRK come in JTHJ? on Salman's shoulders #Screen booking through ETT."

Mukherji also denied media reports that her sister Kajol had attended Jab Tak Hai Jaan'spremiere via a back door entrance to the event.

"I find it hard to believe since she was home with me. #checkurfacts," said Mukherji, adding: "Did they clone her?"

The former actress made a request to her Twitter followers to send pictures of any crowds outside cinemas screening Son of Sardaar that she could use to publicise the film on Facebook.🤣

Mukherji previously featured in the commercially unsuccessful😆 Yash Raj Films release Neal 'n' Nikki.

She is said to have been in a two-year relationship with co-star Uday Chopra, before they acrimoniously broke up after she reportedly started dating Upen Patel.😆

Ajay Devgn's complaint about Yash Raj Films' influence on exhibitors was turned down by the Competition Commission of India last week.
