Julie,
Thank you Julie :) I agree with you absolutely. It's seems clear to us, the audience, that this show is going on the wrong footing.
Vikram was responsible, he had a good character, he provided for his family, he persevered through their harsh criticisms even though he was not at fault. He did not commit infidelity. Aditya had relationships outside marriage and was irresponsible. Vikram was good to all and especially to Sugni. He left the house yet, they brought him back there to assassinate his good character and turn him into a violent abusive psychopath.
It is in fact quite harmful for our society to see or watch violence on women, The negative effects of watching abuse & violence has been well researched & documented. If someone wants to learn about the big bad world out there then, newspapers & TV's are filled with such stories. People want to watch a film or a short drama to relax, to enjoy and learn something good not watch endless terrifying violence on to vulnerable women. Apart from being totally out of place & illogical, imagine the hours of showing abuse on women will do to men's mentality out there? Will a woman ever trust a decent man or get married?
Yes there are deceiving men out there, but there doesn't happen to be an instance which I have heard, read or seen in my life where good decent middle aged men would suddenly show their 'true tiger' stripes & terrorise young women becoming violent or mad! Yes, a tiger's stripes don't change overnight, so those men who are really bad, were bad to begin with. Men who are always good don't change negatively. Therefore, to change a zebra stripes to a tiger's is not going to convince the audience the zebra is a tiger.
Vikram was already a married man he has been living without his wife for long periods of time, he was used to a single way of life & although lonely he was content. He has been calm throughout that period. To suddenly then show he is violent because of a near impossible scenario - his abusive violent wife turning up alive from the dead and his nephew, who loved and treated him as his real father, now all of a sudden married the woman Vikram loves and was about to wed,..is not only unrealistic but totally preposterous. Excuse me, but how often does a dead woman come back to life or nephews marry their Uncle's brides in the real (big, bad) world???
Even the two Aditya characters played by alternative actors have completely different personalities! That in itself was a real put off.
These Indian serials are mixed up with so many stories and without thinking they lost focus on what what was shown in the beginning. Unless the first episodes were used to gain attention & cheat people into watching the show, Vikram was portrayed as nothing else than a decent human being. If he was bad, then they have made a mess of the show as the story is incongruent, filled up with lots of inconsistencies.
Vikram wasn't bad, therefore to show a strong man with good character, who had self control and good temperament to now suddenly succumb to his low base ego, is absolutely nonsense and it is totally unacceptable.
