There is a huge difference between intimate and romantic and I found the whole scenario of the scene to be intimate considering the circumstances that unknowingly Adi exerted his rights of a husband, even if it was just to talk about his parents with Pankhuri. Before they were married, Aditya has always kept that physical distance between them because he knows that Pankhuri is not like his typical female friends and that he isn't supposed to cross certain limits, but in last night scene he entered her room, didn't even feel awkward or hesitant even after realizing that she had just come out of the shower, and locked the door with the right that we usually don't see a friend exert, that made the scene intimate in my opinion.
Also, I would have been disappointed had they showed the scene to be of romantic nature, because firstly it would have tampered with Adi's character and secondly would have shown his feelings to be of sexual nature instead of romantic. The concept of the show is about two people with different views of love, life and marriage who fall in love and get married, so we can't certainly expect Adi to start realizing this soon. Even if he feels something for Pankhuri, which he surely does, he has trained himself over the years to think with his mind, rather then his heart, to protect himself from getting heart broken, so his mind which wants his equation with Pankhuri to be friends only will not let his heart rule over him that easily, not even after looking at Pankhuri who was looking damn sexy with her wet hair. Adi is a guy, and am sure he was attracted to Pankhuri last night but trust me for guys like Adi attraction and desire is something they can handle and even ignore, so to protect his equation with Pankhuri he would ignore even attraction if that is what it takes :)
