[QUOTE=ulakmini]if "Sardhakai" is a societty acceptable tradition how we can insult to a woman who do her sardhakai.
.yes i felt that Sugni being insulted by her self for doing it, because she againts it before...but in other hand sardhaki is a social tradition all the bednis and Takurs involved...the society they are living is not accept it as insult how outsiders judge it as a insuiting event...??
Just because it is accepted by that community doesn't mean it is not an insult to women, both the bedni women and the thakur wives. The Bednis who are born into it and do not know better will continue to do it. However, outsiders who do KNOW better can comment and try to help them. If you are speaking from the show's perspective, then Sugni insulted her self by announcing her sardakai. Aditya, who grew up in the city also insulted her and his mother by doing Sugni's sardakai.
From a real life perspective, it is a huge disappointment to know this practise is still around in the 21st century. An it's only OUTSIDERS who can help educate these bednis and help them to lead respectable lives. The Thakur men who are enjoying themselves will never object to the practise so its only obvious that OUTSIDERS will comment and make the difference in these people's lives.
