Tks for the update. Normally as far as I know new clothes are never worn for shraad. That I think was a mis representation of customs. Since Suraj is generally aware of all customs as he comes from a traditional household it is a blooper as even Bhabo did not reprimand him. Bhabo can hardly blame Sandhya for breaking the coconut as her own son has made a greater mistake. Secondly normally the wife participates in the shraad activities, but Bhabo never accompanied them. The second one I do not know whether in North India it is different but the first one I am very sure.
