Gossip Girl Season 6, Ep01 Full Recap & video

Gone Baby Gone

Welcome back to the land where six people mostly date each other! Where the schemers and dreamers meet and post little vicious tidbits about each other online. Yes, it's the sixth and final season of "Gossip Girl," that deliciously bad bonbon of the television industry.  When we last left, Blair was mad at Serena. Serena was doing drugs again and had disappeared from NYC. Blair was trying to get Chuck back. Lonely boy was writing a mean a clef about the Upper East Side. Oh and Georgina and Bart Bass are back.  We open with Dan breaking out his masterpiece on a typewriter in Italy, Chuck and Blair are very much back together in bed in Monte Carlo. Bart and Lily renewed their vows. Nate is trying to run the Spectator on his own. Blair is creating her own fashion line. Dan's hair is not good. It's more mushroomy than ever.  The theme of this episode is: Where's Serena?  Georgina convinces Dan to leave Italy and head to upstate New York to seek out Serena's dealer.  Chuck is trying to figure out what his dad was up to while being dead. Lily checks in with Rufus in Brooklyn to find Serena and instead finds Ivy. Nate tries to blackmail GG into releasing whatever goods she has on Serena. He had video unmasking Gossip Girl, so she gives up the goods. Ivy calls Lola so we can find out she's really manipulating Rufus. Shocker.  Georgina/Dan run into Blair/Nate/Chuck, almost literally, en route to find Serena. They find her as Sabrina (what she was called in Dan's book) in a fancy house, having a party. Turns out she's with some guy named Stephen who believes she's from Wisconsin and went to Vassar. The Scoobies believe it's Sabrina/Serena/Stephen's wedding, but no. They're just helping out two friends and Serena is the maid  of honor. But they find that out after Blair and Georgina blab about  Serena's past to the guests who don't care.  Serena says she wanted to start fresh with her new boy who owns a vitamin company. Dan is still mad that Blair chose Chuck.  Blair turns around and apologizes to Serena and says she misses her.  How many of these conversations have we heard? This time though, a different ending. Serena says that's nice and all but she wants a fresh start. (How long is that going to last?)  I don't know what's really going on with Chuck and Blair.  They're together but they have things they need to do that separate them. And Bart isn't thrilled about Blair. Serena brings Stevie to her mom's home. I'm happy Serena is at least dating out of the pack.  Chuck found his father's translator and brought her back to New York. Bart does not want her around and tries to blackmail her away.  Yet she stays. mmm.  Eww, Ivy hits on Rufus. That's just gross. the last shot is Rufus and Ivy in the sack. My eyes! My eyes!

P Recap...High Infidelity
While hosting a high society party, Serena and Nate discover something shocking about their dates. Meanwhile, a rival from Blair's past can be very helpful to her future as a fashion designer. Dan must choose if losing his integrity to get his new book released is worthy. Also, Chuck decides to dig up more dirt into Bart's past at the risk of destroying his marriage with Lily.

Gossip Girl Season 6, Ep02 Full Recap & video

High Infidelity

Welcome back to the UES. I cannot look to Brooklyn where the Rufus/Ivy canoodling was one of the most revolting sights I have seen on the "Gossip Girl" oeuvre.  Tonight, we're hoping that FungiBoy Dan gets a haircut and that we find out more about Serena's new boy. They all get up very early for people who don't have jobs. Georgina is still deliciously creepy.  Chuck is still trying to figure out his father's fake death with the translator from Dubai, with help from the $10 million his father left to buy off the translator. The translator allegedly has a fiancee. But first, brunch with Bart and Lily. Bart threatens the translator.  Oh and we like Chuck's yellow paisley tie but I'm not sure how I feel about his shaved sides. And Blair's headbands are back, but bejeweled. Nice!  Blair is doing an interview with WWD. Her mother's Paris team – the people who actually do the work – have bailed, so Blair is hiring the followers to fake be the team. Whoops, it turns out Nelly from high school shows up. Blair thinks Nelly wants to make up, but it turns out Nelly is the new WWD reporter. She tells Blair that she has to compete with Poppy for a spread. Turns out Poppy has the same exact collection. Blair schemes to destroy Poppy's clothes, but gets found out.  Dan is sad because his agent dropped him and so did his publisher. But Nate says he wants to publish his story about mean people on the UES in the Spectator.  Lily calls Bart's bluff about his affair with the translator.  He says it's no big deal, it was just a weekend. A weekend worth a $10 million payoff?  Serena's Stephen somehow also knows Sage, the girl Nate is seeing. Serena is having a big party, care of her new boyfriend who she thinks is cheating on her. Lily tells her to suck it up.  Nate calls Sage and breaks up with her, but mentions that he'll be at the gala. Surprise, she's going to be at the party too!  Dan and Georgina are there too! How did Dan become Georgina's slave? I don't remember.  Serena is not happy that Stephen's surprise girl, Sage, is at the party. When Nate schmooches Sage, Stephen hits him – because Sage is only 17 and Stephen's daughter. Serena is mad that Stephen didn't share that information. Sage isn't too pleased about her dad's dating life either.  Chuck shows up but it turns out that it's a fake text that sent him to Blair. By the time he gets home, the translator is gone, with the money. She left him a little present of information.  Nelly wants to know why Dan still wants to be part of the upper upper. She tells him to start making his own rules. Dan  decides to burn everyone and publish in the Spectator.  Bart says he wants a truce with Chuck. Chuck doesn't believe him and says he wanted to believe his daddy loved him, but it's too late. Chuck says he's going to destroy his father and make him feel bad.  Nelly decides to write a whole article about Poppy and blow off Blair, just as the B is booted from Serena's party. Blair arrives home to find new garments, thanks to Dorota. They have 10 days to come up with a new line. Good luck B!

P Recap...Dirty Rotten Scandals
Serena finds it's hard to make amends with her new boyfriend's daughter; a scandal might stop Blair's first fashion designer show of being a success; Chuck tries to discover Bart's big secret.

Dirty Rotten Scandals

Serena is an almost step-mommy? I cannot handle this. Serena and Steven and Sage are all living together and it's not going well on tonight's "Gossip Girl."  Also, sequins for breakfast? Things are shaky with the waffles.  Steven says he and Serena should take a break because Sage is being a mean, mean, meanie. Serena says she can handle Sage because she's been there. Oh, and Sage is dating Serena's ex, Nate. I'm sure that'll go over well.  Chuck is still trying to track down what daddy did over his death day. Dan is living with Nate, who is hiding out from the revolting form of Rufus and Ivy. Nate is about to publish the first part of the Dan's expose, which is about Rufus and Ivy.  Sage is pretending to be nice to Serena. Blair is asking Serena to be in her fashion show. As Serena's back is turned, Sage takes off and leads Serena a merry chase around the town. Sage wants Serena and Steven to break up. Nate tells Serena to come clean to Steven. Sage somehow ends up lying her way into Blair's fashion show.  Blair lets Sage in on the condition that Serena says nice things about the collection. But we know Sage is going to make this a disaster.  Blair is going a little crazy crazy. She faints because she's all tired and not eating. She's told to stay in bed and be quiet. So Chuck takes over and makes her fashion show perfect.  Rufus is trying to find Dan to make nice nice. Ivy convinces Rufus to get mad. She tells him to sue the paper and Dan. Dan goes to chat with his dad and remind him that Ivy is a big, giant con artist (which we know is true). Rufus is not happy that Ivy told Gossip Girl he was going to sue.  Wait, are we at a party? We are! And it's only halfway through the show. Let's hope Blair's fashion school goes well because Serena is boasting about how great and upper class the show is. Then Serena ticks off the Women's Wear Reporter Nelly Yuki, who already hated Blair.  I don't know how to describe Blair's collection. Tropical birds amongst kelly green? Anyway, when Sage walks down the aisle, she takes off her clothes and stands around in her underwear. Serena acts like this is an outrage and storms off. And then the fashion people get upset that a 17 year old is walking down the runway in her underwear. Which WHAT? Isn't that the standard? I'm confused. I cannot suspend reality that much, even for GG.  Ivy and Rufus are having a fight, and she says Dan has become an Upper East Side prince.  Which may be true because then Dan screws over Nate by selling the rest of his serial expose in Vanity Fair, when Nate had depended on it for the Spectator. Dan has no friends left now, right?  Blair thinks Serena told Sage to take off the dress.  Serena thinks Blair told Sage to take off the dress. It was Sage's precious idea. Her daddy is mad. Blair is upset that everyone trashed her show. Chuck makes her feel all better.  Nelly Yuki is trying to hit on Dan and he blows her off so meanly that you know there's going to be payback.

P Recap...Portrait of a Lady Alexander
Chuck's continuing investigation into his father's dirty business dealings leads him to an unlikely party with Manhattan's wealthy and powerful elite, where he hopes to find the one person who can tell him the truth about what Bart is hiding. Meanwhile, Serena and Steven decide to reveal their romantic histories so they aren't surprised by anything, but neither is prepared for what is learned or what each other's reactions are. With The Spectator in jeopardy after Dan has decided to publish his book elsewhere, Nate must make a difficult decision to keep it in business. A new character is introduced when Serena bumps into James, a charming 16-year-old from a wealthy part of Chicago who currently attends the same boarding school that Serena went to in Connecticut. They bond over stories from the Knightly School. Serena realizes that she and James have similar stories. Later, Serena invites him to a party at Blair's. Also, Georgina pushes Dan to choose a worthy person to date in order to boost his image, but he finds himself drawn in a different direction to an unlikely person.

The Ivy who is scamming Rufus.  Ivy says she'll write a mean story about Lily for Nate to publish.  Serena's new boytoy Steven wants to know all the guys she's been with so there aren't any more surprises. It'll be a big surprise!  At the horse show, Chuck schmoozes the sheik's daughter.  Turns out Bart shows up and ruins the surprise. The daughter calls Bart "uncle." mmhmmm.  Bart isn't happy.  oh no! Not. the. doggie.  Blair tries to tell the daughter the truth, that Bart is bad.  Then the Spectator prints a story that Lily once slept with Serena's new boyfriend, Steven.  Seriously GG? Seriously? There are billions of people in the world, how does this group keep messing around with each other?  Turns out that Lady Alexander never made it to the "farm"  in Virginia. Turns out his father might have been doing some illegal trading in oil.  At the same time, Bart secretly co-signs the loan Nate asks for – by using doctored documents like his father.  Rufus decides he wants to throw away all his stuff from Lilytime and focus completely on Rufus.  Georgina has stolen a sex tape from Serena. Dan tries to make up with Blair, who is dressed in some weird kaftan – maybe because her mom is mad that she completely botched up the fashion line.  And Dan asks if he can bunk with Blair for a little while. Oh no. That's not going to be good.

Chuck finds an unlikely ally as he tries to drive a wedge between Bart and Lily's relationship to help expose his father's secret. Monstrous Ball

We're heading toward the beginning of the end of "Gossip Girl." Dan is hiding out in Blair's apartment. She's in a flurry because she has a new muse, uggh, this whole fashion thing is such a random thread. Steven and Serena are schmooching and Sage is not happy.   Everyone is getting ready for the Cotillion and Serena is forcing her way onto Sage's stage. Georgina wants the Blair chapter from Dan, but Dan doesn't want to give it up because he loves him some Blair.  Then Dorota comes in with Blair's secret engagement ring from Chuck and Dan isn't happy about that. So he sends Vanity Fair a chapter about Chuck Bass and his daddy. Ivy is still with Rufus and it's still gross. Chuck is still researching his dad. Serena is searching for advice on how to deal with Steven. Ivy is somehow spying on Lily and Chuck. She offers to help Chuck. mmm.  While snooping, Serena comes upon a very big diamond ring. Sage immediately pounces, finds the ring and is not amused. It's all coming down at Cotillion.  Steven tells Sage he's going to ask Lily for her permission and ask Serena that night at the dance.  So Sage stomps on over to Blair's and asks for help in delaying the proposal.  Blair calls Lily and says she's worried about Serena not being ready.  Suddenly, Steven tells Serena not to come to the dance. Allegedly. Ivy is in Bart and Lily's apartment, trying to set it up as if Chuck was there, but Bart walks in as she's drinking his Scotch.  She plays it off and he seems to fall for it. Dan offers to escort Blair to the dance. Georgina tells Dan to get over Blair already. Georgina tells Dan that if he doesn't shake it, she'll share the sex video he made with Serena.  Then Sage steals Georgina's phone and sees the sex tape.  Turns out that Sage sent the note from Steven. Lily tells Serena that she had misgivings about Steven, and that Serena has liferafts, not boyfriends. Bart accuses Lily of having Chuck in her apartment.  Chuck tries to explain to Lily that Bart is a bad man, but Lily takes Bart's side. Blair tells Serena that she just wants Serena's happiness and warns her about Sage going rogue.  Blair says she wants to a bridesmaid.  As Sage walks down the aisle in Blair's dress, the sex tape with Dan and Serena shows up behind her. Steven is not amused. Blair is mad at Dan for sleeping with Serena. She says she thought Dan was better than that.  Blair said she'd rather be with no one than Dan. Nate is now mad at Sage for releasing the sex tape. He leaves Sage on the dance floor as her daddy takes her away. Serena tries to apologize to Blair and it's not going over.   Blair says Serena was right, that they haven't been friends for a long time. Rufus finds out Ivy has been bankrolling his gallery with funds from CeCe's estate.  Steven breaks up with Serena because she's got too much goofy going on in her past. As she sits all alone and sad, Dan asks her out for a burger. They end up all happy and stress eating at a diner. Blair and Chuck end up in his apartment. He asks her to wait a little longer.  Blair says she'll wait as long as it takes.  For real, come on already.

P Recap...Where The Vile Things Are

Serena volunteers to help Dan find a new place to live, but their time together brings up unexpected emotions. Where the Vile Things Are

Even Blair's mom can't take her anymore.  We can't understand why she turned over the fashion to Blair, she of the headband. Now that Blair has screwed up her mom's fashion line on "Gossip Girl,"  it looks like it's all over for the wanna-B.  No one is coming to Rufus and Ivy's party and they are sad.  Chuck is still investigating his father in a thread that we tired of several episodes ago.  Figure it out already, Junior.   Wait, is Chuck wearing some sparkly blue glitter ball? Nate is helping him out by trying squeeze info from a banker.  Ugggh, is Dan and Serena a thing again?    Dan is so full of himself, with his mushroomy hair and his Vespa.  Serena, so full of herself and faux naive. They try and run from the mean photographers.  Blair's mom tells her to suck up to Women's Wear Daily and Blair tries to be nice to Nelly, but ends up trying to blackmail her. It backfires and Blair finds herself booted from mommy's business.  So then she tries to blackmail Dan, and that doesn't work.  Nate is trying to find secrets in Lily and Bart's art when Serena comes home.  Ooops. The one piece of art that Lily picked to sell at a live auction has all the secrets in the back.  Dan and Serena are having a fight over who is the meanest and worstest.  Then they get stuck in an elevator.  Didn't this happen before?  Blair apologizes to her mom in front of Nelly.  Blair says she doesn't have any talent and that everything she has is from scheming and lying.   Then Blair goes to sulk at the Met and Nelly finds her there. Nelly tries to be mean and tell Blair she's still stuck in high school, which somehow gives Blair an epiphany.  She wants to create a uniform based on her high school uniform. Headbands for everyone!  Back at the auction, Lily, Ivy and Chuck are all bidding for the artwork. Rufus wins.   Lily tries to buy the painting back.  Rufus and Ivy say no because she should feel humiliated. Then they schmooch in front of Lily which is just gross.  Ivy sells it to Chuck for double the price.  Serena and Dan end up back at her place, and they start kissing again. Because we're going to end up in the exact same place we were six seasons ago.  When the painting arrives at Chuck's, the envelope has disappeared… into Ivy's hands.  Now she knows all the records of his oil deals.  Chuck is sad.

P Recap...Save The Last Chance
Serena and Dan realize that they need to make amends with the people they have wronged to rebuild their shattered lives. Blair has one last chance to prove to her mother her worth as a fashion designer and with Serena's help, comes up with a plan to make her line the "it" look for Sage and her friends. Chuck is close to getting the evidence he needs against his father, until one of his closest allies reveals his plan to Bart.

Save the Last Chance

Will Serena end up with Dan?  Chuck with Blair? Nate with a cougar?  These are the deep questions to ponder as we near the end of the fabulous badness that is XOXO, Gossip Girl. On tonight's episode, Bart Bass has destroyed Chuck's house looking for the oil documents he hid in the painting.  The documents that Ivy stole.  She shows up at Chuck's apartment.  She says she wants revenge on Lily. Note that Lily is the only one Chuck and Bart love. Allegedly. After blackmailing Bart and Chuck, Ivy walks down the hall to schmoochie Steve Baldwin, aka William van der Woodsen, Serena and Eric's father.  Wait, isn't he Lola's father too? We KNEW that Ivy was cheating on Rufus.  That relationship was too gross to live. Dan and Serena are all in bed.  Which is still way better than Dan and Blair in bed, which was wrong. Nate is begging for his paper, The Spectator.  He's deep in debt.  Unbeknownst to him, the lender is Bart Bass. Blair is putting together a Barney's pop-up shop and the gift bags must be perfect.  Serena tries to make amends but Blair is having none of it. Nelly randomly dropped in to say Blair is too old to be a Queen Bee. Serena comes up with a plan to make Blair popular again by using her former almost daughter-in-law Sage.  Sage falls for it, and Blair tells Sage she wants a meeting with the five head girls who rule the private schools. Also, berets are the new headband fyi. Bart tells Lily all about Ivy's plan. Lily says Chuck will never hurt her, and she'll call Rufus and try to get the microfilm back.  Rufus says he's not getting involved – but then he sees Ivy with the faux Baldwin. Chuck is thinking about taking Ivy's deal.  Nate would help him but Daddy Bass is calling in his loan covering the Spectator unless Nate helps him break Chuck.  Chuck is planning to turn Lily into the feds along with his dad. Ivy is happy.  But Chuck is playing with her because he'd never hurt Lily. Dan apologizes to Chuck and Nate, and then apologizes to Rufus as well.  Rufus then boots Ivy out of the loft. Sage discovers that Blair and Serena played her. Oh oh, there's going to be trouble at Blair's tonight, because the feds are going to be there too.  Ivy finds out Chuck played her too – because Nate gave up his best friend to save the paper. The party! The party!  The new Queen Bees show up and plan to pan the whole thing.  But then they love the clothes so much they can't help themselves! Bart tells Ivy he's divorcing Lily, but Ivy says it's not enough.  She tells Bart to strip, because that will humiliate Lily. When she goes to give Bart the microfiche, it's gone.  That's because Rufus snagged it and gave it to Lily.  Ivy is freaking out and calling for her secret love, William, but he's not texting her back. Awwwh, now Lily and Rufus are having a moment and talking about how they were family for a long time.  Now Blair and Serena are having a moment.  Chuck goes to talk to Lily about the microfiche, but she throws it in the fire and says Bart would never hurt her and she believes Chuck is the one who sold her out. Ivy tells William that Lily burned the documents. William is most worried that Lily is still with Bart. Chuck is sad. He says there is no other way to get his dad back.  Blair says at least they're still together. Chuck says no because he didn't fulfill his end of the bargain. Can I just say that Blair looks particularly bad in tonight's episode?  That really garish eye make-up is not working at all. Neither did that pleated skirt and non-matching top with the headband.  I'm just not feeling it. Serena asks Dan if she's really the one for him. Dan says yes. They're the only ones who are happy. Ugggh, although then Georgina calls and Dan tells her he's writing a Serena chapter for his book. Chuck, Nate and Blair are all miserable.

P Recap...It's Really Complicated
Serena and Dan decide to throw their first Thanksgiving dinner together, inviting only their closest friends, but everyone seems to have their own agenda for attending. It's Really Complicated

It's Thanksgiving again. Or at least, on the Upper East Side on tonight's Gossip Girl.  Chuck and Blair aren't getting together.  Dan and Serena are back together, but it seems he's playing her.  Lily and Bart are going away to some sort of island.  Chuck is mad at Nate for blabbing to Bart.  So Serena and Dan say they're going to have a Thanksgiving party.  What, a party on Gossip Girl?  Do you think stuff will go down there?  Will someone lie? Will someone's nefarious plans go awry?  Blair stays in town to mess with Serena's relationship with Dan.  Conveniently Serena then runs into her old squeeze Stephen and his daughter, Sage.  They're coming to dinner, along with Rufus and Chuck and Blair and everybody!  Oop, Rufus says no, but everyone else is coming.  Chuck is all sad about his dad's win.  And he's banned Blair from The Empire. She sneaks in anyway.  Rufus says women like Lily and Serena are always going to choose guys like Bart Bass. Dan says maybe he could become like Bart Bass.  That doesn't sound like a good plan.  Georgina is trying to read Dan's Serena chapters. So far, no luck.  Whoops, Lily and Bart are staying. That's not going to go over well.  At Thanksgiving dinner, Stephen tells Dan that Serena is so much better with him.  Blair gets the passwords to Bart's computer so Chuck and Nate can meander around.  Of course, they find something.  Georgina crashes the dinner and yells at Dan, who desperately needs some mangrooming and/or an undershirt with that v-neck sweater.  Blair happens to mention that Bart's business partner "happened" to fall off the Bass family yacht.  She "happens" to mention it to Lily.  And then Chuck drops the nugget  that the Sheik's car burst into flame, and the car was provided by Bass industries.  Lily isn't happy about this and Bart is not happy that she's questioning him.  Stephen asks Serena why she's with Dan and says he still  loves her. Serena says Dan is her first love.   So Stephen leaves.  Nate is back schmooching with the high schooler.  Blair tells Serena that Dan is not the one, but Serena doesn't want to hear it. Then the chapter about Serena comes out and she doesn't look so good.  Serena says Dan couldn't say such mean things if he really loved her.  Dan says he's always been a visitor to her world and that all Serena's friends hurt each other and then sit down for dinner.  Blair says that at least there is pie. Lily tells Chuck she now knows the truth about Bart.  And then Nate gives Dan a good smashing in the nose for all his stories (although he was more than happy to print them.)  Bart gives Dan his card and says he should call if he needs anything.  Lily tells Bart she's going to a spa for a couple days, but Bart clearly doesn't believe her.  Then she calls Charles and tells him she was a fool for believing Bart.  Bart calls Nate and tells him to blab.  Nate tells Sage that Bart is blackmailing him.  Dan says he has a plan, and it's working. We're not sure what it is.  But he starts his final chapter on a manual typewriter, like the hipster he is.  Chuck asks Blair to go to war with him. She happily agrees.  And Serena calls Stephen to say sorry, sorry.  He doesn't answer.

P Recap...The Revengers
After a run-in with increasingly paranoid Bart, Blair grows alarmingly concerned for Chuck's safety. Feeling confident that his father will never hurt him, Chuck makes a deal that could change his life. B devises a plan with the help of Serena, Georgina and Sage to get what they need out of Bart. Meanwhile, Nate's financial dilemma lands him in a place that he never thought he would be.

The Revengers

We're heading to the end of "Gossip Girl" and there are so many questions to wrap.  Is Dan bad? Will Chuck and Blair get back together?  Will we finally find out who is the real Gossip Girl? We know that Chuck and Blair and Lily are working together to figure out the Bart Bass problem. Dan is putting money down on a fancy apartment – except he needs a good reference. Who will he ask? Is there a gala tonight? I wonder if some XOXO will go down! Bart is blackmailing Nate to be his Chuck mole. Nate is still dating Sage, the high schooler. Stay classy. Serena, having burned both Dan and Stephen, is packing up.  She calls Ivy to faux apologize and figure out what was on the microfiche. Nate then gets arrested for fraud for being a double agent for Chuck and Bart. Dan asks Bart for a good reference, which cannot be a good idea.  Bad choice Dan! Bart and Chuck spend some time threatening each other. Ugggh, I've just hated this whole storyline, almost as much as the Kalinda husband storyline on "The Good Wife." Suddenly, Nate's dad shows up to bail him out of jail.  Blair gets carnapped by Bart Bass and is held hostage.  Bart tells Chuck that in order to make everyone safe and happy, that life in Moscow is the only option for Chuckie.  The Bass plane is waiting.  Chuck agrees to go. The Dan pours out his heart to Bart about Serena.  Bart tells Dan that Serena is moving to Los Angeles. Blair tries to stop Chuck and says she'll go with him to Russia. Chuck says he has to go alone, but she should have faith in him.  I miss Chuck with tousled hair. I feel the same way about George Clooney, in case anyone is listening. Blair is planning to foil Bart for being mean to her boyfriend at the Gala. Bart does NOT know what a girl in a headband can do.  Georgina has taken over the brochure, which shows lots of dead horses as donors. Then dead men start calling Bart, thanks to Sage.
