Haan,
Main ghareeb ka beta hoon…
Zindagi ko sitam main kehta hoon.

Majbooriyon me bhi khush rehta hoon.
Chand boondon se pait bhar leta hoon.
Kyun ke
Main ghareeb ka beta hoon…

Thandi mein thithoor leta hoon,
Barsaat mein bheeg leta hoon,
Garmi paaon jalaati hai …….
Toh
Pathron pe main so leta hoon.

Kyun ke
Main ghareeb ka beta hoon…

Kabhi sabzi, to kabhi kuch na milay,
Namak, roti pe main jee leta hoon,
Zakham chahay jaisa bhi ho,
Thori haldi main laga leta hoon,

Main ghareeb ka beta hoon…

Ek kameez, ek patloon,
Roz bina sabun, main dhota hoon,
Bari dukaano ki ronak dekh,
Aksar khush main ho leta hoon,

Gham bhi bohot hai.. Dard bhi hai..
Dil mein sab dabaa leta hon,
Kabhi akelay, to kabhi sab k samnay,
Aankhon se angootha bhigo leta hoon,
