Talking point: The TRPs for Bigg Boss 6's opening episode are still to come in, but all the conversations on the morning after were about the show's latest season. From a range of opinions about the contestants ("Niketan Madhok is so hot", "Why's Aseem Trivedi being such a sell out?") to predictions about who will be the first to break Salman's diktat of "see no evil speak no evil, hear no evil" to discussions about whether the innumerable avatars Sallu presented himself in make his '4 crore per episode price tag value for money, the episode was dissected in great detail.
Looking forward to: In a manner of speaking, television hasn't been very inclusive, especially when it comes to depicting minorities in its stories. Sajda Tere Pyaar Ka was one of the few shows to have a Muslim family at its core. Now, there's Qubool Hai, the promos of which seem to tell us that the show will ask some refreshingly new questions. But we'll wait for this Karan Singh Grover-starrer to air before we give it our seal of approval.
Thumbs up: The Sunday night episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa threw up lots of interesting voices. The calm demeanour of the judges, especially Shankar Mahadevan and Rahul Ram, makes the feedback process a pleasure to view, unlike the high-octane arguments on Sur Kshetra. As for the contestants who showed up at the Kolkata auditions of the show, they managed to showcase their musical prowess and vocal range admirably. All of which makes us eager for the maha-elimination next week. Let the musical games begin!
