Roop Durgapal who is seen playing the role of Shiv's sister in Sphere Orgins' Balika Vadhu and an angel in SAB TV's show Baal Veer, talks about her new print advertisement and about her wish of playing a lead role in daily soaps.

When we spoke to her about her new print ad she said, "I recently shot for ImageBazaar.com and they have liked my pictures a lot. In fact I really enjoyed the photo shoot too. I had donned an Indian look and I loved the clothes which I was given. In short, I like Indian wear."

She is currently doing two shows namely Balika Vadhu and Baal Veer together, so we asked her how she manages her time. "It is very difficult managing time for both. Currently, I am just focusing on Balika Vadhu more, but also I shoot for Baal Veer when I am required on the sets. Balika Vadhu is one of the top and longest running show on television and I am honored to be a part of this show. Baal Veer is a nice show and I enjoy playing the role of Daridari Pari too", said the young actress.

"I am currently playing the role of Shiv's sister in Balika Vadhu as well as one of  the angel in Baal Veer, which are considered as side roles, but I want to play a lead role too. I am eagerly waiting to get one romantic show with me playing the lead in it. Hope my wish comes true soon", she concluded.

Shahina aka Firang Pari to walk out from Baal Veer!

on March 15 at 04:58pm

In the recent past has seen many TV actors quitting their respective shows. There were a number of them who walked out from their fictions owing to insufficient screen space issues, namely Shilpa Shinde of Chidiya Ghar, Shoaib Ibrahim of Sasural Simar Ka, Jayshree Soni of Rishton Ke Bhanwar Mein Uljhi Niyati, Neha Janpandit of Rab Se Sohna Isshq and the latest actress to quit a telly show is Shahina of SAB TV's Baal Veer.

The actress, who essays the role of Firang Pari, is reportedly not getting sufficient role and has decided to quit the show. She has also gone ahead to put down papers.  "She was not happy with the track and her screen presence became almost minimal. She was promised something else but what turned out later was completely different," says source.

If going by the buzz, the makers are currently searching right actor who can replace her.

Holi TV special: Karishma Tanna advise a dry and safe Holi

While it's obvious that Holi is all about an array of water and colours, celebs like Soumya Seth, Aanchal Munjal and Mouli Ganguly want to do their bit by celebrating a dry and eco-friendly festival. Some, like Karishma Tanna and Simran Kaur wish to keep away from the fun and games to avoid hair and skin damage ' such delicate dolls! But Rohit Khurana, Shama Sikander and Giaa Manek are extremely happy about the festival of colour and have made some major plans to celebrate with family and friends.

BollywoodLife finds out more about some TV stars' favourite memories of Holi and their special plans for March 26. Read on'

"Holi for me is an occasion that brings people of all cultures together. This festival of colours for me is a symbol of love. My childhood memories of Holi comprise of me running away and hiding from people 'coz I was petrified of being doused in colours. I've started playing and enjoying the festival in the last five years; I like to enjoy the occasion with my family and close friends. Every year on Holi I go out with my friends, dance and binge on Holi delicacies." Karishma Tanna for SAB TV's Balveer

"I love to play Holi with my friends in Mumbai. Since I am shooting here and my family stays in Delhi, I don't get a chance to celebrate this festival with them. All my friends get together to play with colours and water and do a rain dance. When I was young, I remember throwing balloons from the rooftop. Guys in our area would take this day as an opportunity and throw colours on girls. It's a fun day." Shama Sikander from SAB TV's Balveer.

Celebrated with fervor and gusto across regions in India, the festival brings joy, festivities and happiness to one and all! To celebrate this ocassion, SAB TV brings to you SAB Ki Holi, the first ever extravagant event that  portrays different cultures and flavours of Holi in India.

Shama Sikander for SAB TV's Balveer: "Holi for me is an occasion that brings together people of all cultures. This festival of colours, for me is a symbol of love and togetherness. My childhood memories of Holi comprise of me running away and hiding from people as I used to be petrified of being doused in colours. I've started playing and enjoying Holi since last five years; I like to enjoy the occasion with my family and close friends. Every year on Holi, I go out with my friends, dance and binge on Holi delicacies.

Karishma Tanna for SAB TV's Balveer: "Holi for me is a festival of colors and a lot of fun and I look forward to perform at SAB TV's Hum Sab Ki Holi Event. I will be performing a Neon act which is going to be a treat to watch as the act is very interesting and I am delighted that I am a part of it. On Holi, my best childhood memory was when we use to set up artificial rain in our society and enjoy Holi with all friends. But if you ask me now, I am not that fond of Holi as it spoils my skin and hair and this is the only message I would like to give everyone is that do not play Holi with artificial colors as it is harmful for your skin"

Priyanka Naithani, TNN | Apr 14, 2013, 05.13 PM IST

I would love to take part in Nach Baliye with Alex: Shama
Shama Sikander
Shama Sikander who is currently dating singer and composer Alex O Neil has no plans to get married. "We are already together and settled in life, so no plans of marriage as of now. I don't think anything will change with a stamp," says Shama.

Her boyfriend, Alex who married television actor Shweta Keswani in year 2007 and got divorced in 2011, is also in no hurry to tie the knot. "Alex and me are together since 3 years, and are very comfortable in each others company. We share a great rapport and will take time to take the final plunge. Even my family is very chilled out and never puts any pressure on me," says Shama.

The actor who was offered Bigg Boss in the past shares that she doesn't have the guts to take part in the show. "I was offered Bigg Boss, but can never take part in the show. I am a calm and peaceful person and can't fight and create a hype," says Shama.

Though she confesses, that she would love to take part in the dance reality show - Nach Baliye. "It's very unfortunate that I was offered Nach Baliye, when I didn't have a boyfriend. Now when I have one, nobody is offering me the show. I would love to take part in the show with Alex," ends she.

After Karishma, now Shama quits Baal Veer

Neha Maheshwri, TNN | Apr 14, 2013, 12.00 AM IST

After Karishma, now Shama quits Baal Veer
Shama Sikander
Actress Karishma Tanna, who played Rani Pariin Baal Veer, left the kids-based show two months back. Apparently, the actress got busy with movies and couldn't devote the required time to the show. Now, following suit is actressShama Sikander, who plays antagonist Bhayankar Pari.

Buzz has it that the actress is quitting for better opportunities.

Says a source, "Shama has informed the production house of her decision and the makers have already started looking for a replacement, who'll be introduced as a new antagonist in the show."

While Shama refused to comment, producer Vipul D Shah refuted the news, saying, "We are just opening a new track, thereby introducing a new antagonist named Bawandar Pari. Shama is not quitting the show. She is very much a part of it like Karishma. We will call her whenever the story demands it."

Wonder, if it's a case of communication gap between the production house and the actresses.
