I guess he lied bcoz...in royal we know everyone is from rich family...so may be to fit into their standard he lied.

Actually I had guessed it way back that he was a working class nawab ... I had thought he was working as a part time technician or something, from the way he fixed Piddi's broken camcorder. But halwai was a surprise!

I think thats the reason, or else he would've been treated like a middle-class guy which he didn't want himself to be called.
