Loki was a Norse god who loved playing practical jokes. In one of them, he arranged to get killed Baldur, the Norse god of light, as per this account:

Baldur had a dream of his own death and his mother had the same dreams. Since dreams were usually prophetic, this depressed him, so his mother Friggmade every object on earth vow never to hurt Baldr. All objects made this vow except mistletoe.^[6] Frigg had thought it too unimportant and nonthreatening to bother asking it to make the vow (alternatively, it seemed too young to swear).

When Loki, the mischief-maker, heard of this, he made a magical spear from this plant (in some later versions, an arrow). He hurried to the place where the gods were indulging in their new pastime of hurling objects at Baldr, which would bounce off without harming him. Loki gave the spear to Baldr's brother, the blind god Hr, who then inadvertently killed his brother with it (other versions suggest that Loki guided the arrow himself). For this act, Odin and the giantess Rindr gave birth to Vli who grew to adulthood within a day and slew Hr

The other problem w/ a new banner contest now is that one would have to edge out some of the serials in the current banner to make space for more recent mythos, such as DkDM and DBSK. I know that the latter sucked, but Vishal was a fantastic Krishna, and Revathy & Balarama were good as well - when the latter wasn't decked up like Agamemnon.

The other problem w/ the current banner is its being too grainy.

I propose that we have a banner made entirely out of asur/rakshasa photos. C'mon that would be awesome. Cool

I think if we dis-include the paintings this time, we'll find space. Instead of on the banner, I propose that our forum's icon should be made out of purely paintings so that it reflects the Gods without using any one mytho.

We can also take out Om Namah Shivay from the banner and replace it with Dkdm, because no ONS fans are active in the forum right now. When the banner was being made, ONS fans were online so it made sense, but I think a forum's banner should reflect the current mythological discussions going on in the forum.

If we have Jai Shri Krishna, Shri Krishna, DBSK, and BRC's Mahabharat all in the banner, we should definitely mix the characters and include only ONE Krishna from either of the shows, and other characters from the other shows.

Same with Ramayan. If we're going to include RSR and ASR, and possibly Zee's new Ramayan if anyone wants it on the banner, there need only be one Ram, one Sita, one Hanuman, other Lakshman, etc from either of the shows.

The problem is that fans of each show will want their favorite Ram and Krishna on the banner, but as long as one character from each mytho is represented there shouldn't be too much of a problem or fuss from the members. It's only a banner after al.

What do you guys think?
