Good Points:

The episode had many good songs and several beautiful chaupaiyas from the Ramcharitmanas. Thanks to Ravindra Jain ji and his team.
The graphics were pretty good.
They showed the 'Gayatri Matra' which has been given great importance in the Ramayan.
The story line was kept short and overall the episode was pretty interesting.

Blunders:

Today's episode had several big blunders. The previous Ramayan directed by Anand Sagar had an amazing research department. They actually read the different versions of the Ramayan and provided every detail accurately without causing any big blunders. On the other hand Ramanand Sagarji was himself very learned and had immense knowledge of the Ramayan. His knowledge was obviously reflected in his masterpiece work - the very first Ramayan.

It seems that this Ramayan is being directed without any research into the original scriptures. The script writers seem to be totally unaware of the story given in the actual Ramayan/Ramcharitmanas. They are just copying off stuff from the first version (1980) of the Ramayan but are altering the story and adding several big mistakes[these mistakes were not present in any of the previous versions] which are completely unacceptable. Some of the big bloopers in today's episode are:

Vishwamitra refers to Tadaka as an 'asur'. Tadaka is a 'Yakshini' and not an 'asur'.
Maricha and Subahu are seen to be standing on the ground. Whereas the Ramayan clearly mentions that they are flying in the air and are not standing on the ground.
According to the Ramayan, Maricha and Subahu are accompanied by a big army of demons. This is not shown.
The biggest mistake which is completely unacceptable is that they showed that the Rishis were being tortured by Subahu. He was shown killing many of the Rishis with his sword. This is utter nonsence. According to the Ramayan, the yag(sacrifice) went on without any disturbance in Ram and Lakshman's presence. They did not even let the demons cause any trouble. Showing Brahmans being tortured in the presence of Lord Ram and Lakshman is not correct.
They are showing that Manthara was very evil right from the beginning. This is nowhere found in the Valmiki Ramayan or the Ramcharitmanas. The Adhyatma Ramayan and the Ramcharitmanas mention that Goddess Saraswati corrupts her mind only during the time when Ram is being installed as the King of Ayodhya (so that he could go to the forest and annihilate all the demons). Manthara being shown as a big villian from the beginning is not right.

This clearly shows that Sagar Pictures is also incapable of correctly copying stuff from Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. There are many other small bloopers. The arrow striking Subahu's head is also incorrect. The episodes was only good to watch since Ravindra Jainji's spiritual and melodious music provided an essence of the actual Ramayana. . The actors acted pretty well too .!

I agree, just hope they correct these blunders in the upcoming episodes. I do love cast.

I agree with you, harianant. The research of this Ramayan is very poor. They are just copying everything from the previous two versions and adding their own stuff to it without making sure if it looks accurate or not. Like you said, the asurs harassing the sages in Ram and Lakshman's presence was totally uncalled for. It kind of defeats the purpose of Vishvamitra bringing them, doesn't it? Moreover, Ram and Lakshman were supposed to act very quickly and destroy the demons before they defiled the yagna yet again. They are the protectors of the world after all. The depiction of this scene was poorly done.

...do u think we are watching ramayan...nopes...ramayan has about 300 versions and 1000 folk tales...sagar pics made 301th version its not ramayan its... "VICHITRA RAMAYAN"...so basically we should keep our brain aside and then watch this adbhuta ramayan Wink

and i think the ph wanted the flying subahu and mareech but wht to do they wasted all the graphics on THE DEADLY TARAKA LOL

poor subahu left with no graphics and had to do the padyatra (travelling by foot)...i hope they dont waste their entire graphics in golden deer scene nahi to raavan ko bhi legs ka use karke daandi march karna padega...imagine raavan abducting sita and travelling by foot ROFL
