Cooking to impress someone and you burnt that Paneer Makhani? Or is it too late to realize that you had sprinkled a bit too much salt in the curry? Well, these are some common culinary disasters and could happen with any of us. World's Top Cook- Sooraj shares some tips on overcoming kitchen disasters.

Disaster: Burnt Gravy
Pour the content into a clean pan and add some sugar to it. It will take away the burnt flavor.

Disaster: Lump in the gravy
Try adding knob butter or pass it through a sieve. You will get a smooth sauce.

Disaster: Too sweet
You can add salt to the dish or if it's a vegetable/main dish add a tsp of vinegar to it.

Disaster: Too Salty soup
Put some sliced raw potato in it. Once the potato slices become translucent, take them out and your soup is perfectly fine.

Disaster: Too salty gravy
Add a little brown sugar and the saltiness will disappear.

Disaster: Neutralizing spiciness
Try adding cream or little milk and it will give some relief to your taste buds.

Disaster: Sticky pasta
Add oil in the boiling water before adding the raw pasta in it. Also don't stir it too frequently but try to toss it up by lifting the pan.

Disaster: Cracked eggs
Eggs get cracked while boiling but it can be avoided by placing a steel spoon in the water. You can also add a pinch of cooking salt. If it's too late and the eggs are already cracked then pouring a little vinegar will help the egg white coagulate.

Disaster- Hard cookies

If your cookies turn out to be very hard, then store them in an air tight container and add half a slice of fresh bread.  Seal the container and leave it overnight. Remove the bread slices in the morning and you will find that the cookies have absorbed most of the moisture and have the perfect crunch.
