Yeah...its true that this arnav is far better than d actual asr on d show...he was ruthless! But I must commend the foresight u had...To show arnav and Khushi married coz of a misunderstanding even before the show brought up that track!!! Thats some foresight u have there!!

Lol, not really...this was started after that epi when Arnav catches Shyam-Khushi on the terrace and that promo of them coming home married...I completely freaked out, and started this because I was expecting the worst and didn't think I could bear to watch it :s Unfortunately my estimation of the 'worst' turned out to be too tame and I hadn't expected a contract marriage or half the things Arnav did...safe to say I hated him at that point in the show. Hence Cul-de-sac and my sadistic plans of torture :P

 Hello doe eyes,
Just read the whole ff in one shot ... am slightly cross-eyed, but would still like to post a comment.

Thank you! The fact that you'd take the time and effort to comment REALLY means a lot to me!!

It was a compelling read because like several other readers I too was colossally disappointed by the so-called 'redemption track' which was such a damp squibb, so pathetic, it made a travesty of Khushi and Arnav and most of all of the credibility of their relationship.
So it was a pleasure to  read about Arnav's angst, his pain and suffering as he gets a glimpse of what she went through because of his rash, rage-driven and impetuous reactions. Balm for the soul...Very therapeutic :)

I'm so glad you feel that way! Redeeming Arnav and reestablishing Arhi's love were two of the biggest aims behind this story and I'm glad I got your approval for the way I went about it! So happy to hear that you enjoyed it!

Too I enjoyed the different view points you let us have so we could appreciate in depth how each character responds to the unfolding events.

Again, thank you. IPK from the very beginning crafted a host of intriguing characters with so much potential - for instance Shashi Gupta. I was seriously hoping he would recover in the show, and spill the beans on Shyam - I don't know whether the CVs forgot about him, but that question just went unanswered in the show. So I'm very relieved and reassured you enjoyed the different character developments here!

When watching the serial I was struck by Sobti's abilty to express subtle feelings (when directed effectively - becasue there were tmes when he was just hamming and fooling around) and re-watched several bits just to focus on a particular scene, a certain interaction - a lift of the brow, a crinkling of the eyes, a tiny twitch of the lips - oh yes, very telling!.
And you have verbalized these subtle expressions, so well. I could picture them and what's even better for an invetarate reader, can re-read them...and enjoy the images they conjure up over and over again!

Thank you!! To a large extent the way I write and describe things is always an attempt to convey the dozen different emotions I saw and felt or thought of when watching the show, so I've always tried to bring that out on paper (well, on screen I suppose). It's a tribute to Barun and the cast of IPK for their brilliant, heart-wrenching acting, because they are the ones that urge me to delve deep into a scene :) I'm thrilled and humbled that you think I'm these scenes justice! Thank you!

Words matter! Well for me they do. So must add that I thoroughly delight in your use of words. Words, expressions, cadences, - all. Not to forget the alliteration, the building of intensity, the nuances delcately captured. ... Love it all. :)
And then there's the internal monologs... both Arnav's and Khushi's - you've managed to retain their essential natures even as you give us a detailed account of their thought processes - tortuous, harrowing, grim, confused, gobsmacked, awe-struck,  the list goes on...but you know what I mean and you do such a wonderful job of it!

Oh, thank you, thank you!!! I'm literally giddy now :P Words really matter to me too, and I'm incredibly fond of evocative imagery - plus, my favourite branch of literature is poetry :P So you have no idea how MUCH it means to me that you liked the literary devices which went into crafting this piece, and enjoyed the monologues and alliteration and so on...thank you!!!!

Thank you. Two days ago I had no idea you existed. Over the past two days I've enjoyed the product of your imagination, your thoughts and I'm just glad you share your writng with us.
More power to you...

BTW - I share the literature background...and so enjoy your quotes as well - a bonus it would seem :)

Thank you sooo very much!!! I'm thrilled to find another literature-loving soul out there, and so immensely pleased and honoured that you enjoyed my work!!

Thank you once more,
PS

Just got back to IF after a break grading lit essays - yes, for my sins I teach :).
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.
This is probably the best aspect of this medium - being able to interact with the writers of these wonderful versions of IPK, and getting to know other povs a little more...
Your enthusiasm for what you do shines through.
Again, may you always have an interestng story to tell and may you enjoy the craft of story-telling...

Hello again doe eyes,

Again, thank you. IPK from the very beginning crafted a host of intriguing characters with so much potential - for instance Shashi Gupta. I was seriously hoping he would recover in the show, and spill the beans on Shyam - I don't know whether the CVs forgot about him, but that question just went unanswered in the show. Wanted to pick up on this comment of yours on Shashi Gupta. First off completely agree with you. Waited long for the CVs to re introduce SG into the narrative. It could have been woven so beautifully into the 'redemption track'. And he is a good actor, so the role of 'father' to not just Khushi and Payal but also Arnav would have been so natural for him to portray. It would have made Arnav's understanding of the situation and his seeking support from an older and wiser man very authentic as well. Waited in vain as usual.
Also waited for Anjali's character to grow a spine. There was every indication of this possibility, but nothing came of it. So thank you for creating the scenario where Anjali is heading in the direction of facing up to her reality and seeking support. Who better than Shashi Gupta, the father figure she misses in her life. A natural connection.

And she says its poetry for her!! Smile
"What oft was thought, but ne'er so well expressed!" It warms the cockles of my heart to know that there are still people in this world who are touched by poetry. To stumble upon such souls in the wasteland of tweets -140 characters - what is that??? - SMS abbreviations, pathetically limited 'likes' and other jargon of the world of social media networking ( nothing against networking, except the way it mauls the language)...is a delight!
So thanks again...

Lookng forward to reading more updates. Read in one of your posts that you were considering a blog. Seems like a great way to go. Do let me know if this happens. Shall hope for access and a continuation of your stories...

Saludos,
PS
