Mumbai, Sept. 3 -- Earlier this week, Ranveer Singh's name made headlines for the wrong reasons - after reports came out that he had trashed Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (ETT) on Twitter, calling it a 'bore.' Soon enough, it was clarified that the tweets originated from a fake account, but the actor was upset by it all. "A lot of people were telling me, 'Ye tumne kya likh diya?' (What have you written?) It's shocking that an impostor tweets something, and whoever prints it (the report) doesn't bother to check whether it's from my real account," says Ranveer, adding that he was among the first ones to catch Salman's latest blockbuster.
"I went on the first day (9.30 am show at Chandan, Juhu) to watch it because I was very excited. If there is a big action film like ETT, Singham (2011) or Dabangg (2010), I go with my friends on the first day itself. It was a carnival-like atmosphere in the theatre," he recalls.
Far from what the tweets implied, Ranveer is actually a complete Salman fan. "The action in ETT was fantastic. The scene in which he jumps from the motorcycle onto the plane was a great moment," he says. "I was whistling, clapping and screaming, 'Bhai, bhai.'"
Besides calling ETT "an absolute bore", the impostor had also tweeted: "While I was passing through a multiplex people after seeing ETT was asking for Tiger Baam". He had also declared that he was not afraid of anyone.
With this incident behind him, Ranveer starts working on his next, Ram Leela, today. "We go on floors today. We are starting off with an action sequence," says the actor, who also completed Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera. "I am also doing Ali Abbas Zafar's Gunday. I really like the setting of the film. I fell in love with the script from the first narration itself," he says.
Getting into character
Virtual trouble: "For Ram Leela, I went to Gujarat for five days, met the locals and ate authentic food. We landed in Rajkot with the associate directors and went all over the state, stopping at Ahmedabad and Bhuj. I picked up a few clothes and jewellery from local shops. The idea was to absorb the Gujarati flavour before playing my character."

Big B was left fuming when a fake Twitter account in his name blasted Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One (2011).
Singh's fake Twitter account took on starlet Poonam Pandey, who, in retaliation, said nasty things about the actor.
At the time of That Girl In Yellow Boots (2011), Anurag Kashyap's Twitter impostor was interacting with acquaintances of his by using fake accounts.
Shahid Kapoor's impersonator posted news about him, including the release dates of his forthcoming films. The account attracted over 4,000 followers.
Last year, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar and Dia Mirza welcomed Sonali Bendre on Twitter, but it was a fake account.
