I agree it was the right thing... but even then the people who are affected by it should be taken through the decision process...things should be thrashed out or else situations will keep blowing up on your face like Ani Shaym is about to do now...This is where the unilateral aspect of his and dadi's decision stem from.. which had far reaching unpleasant consequences...but this time the difference is that Anji is still alive and Shaym's actions are intentionally evil... ASR's past beliefs are being strengthened by the present circumstances... Dadi's understanding of the past events are making her see present circumstance with a colored vision ... both ASR and Dadi need rectification in their visions to let the past rest and the present to be amended.
Yes he took the decision in his hand because he was forced to..
Remember when the truth of Shyam's involvement with Khushi came out, he wanted to take Anji out and discuss all this later.. But shyam wanted everything out in open cos if Anjali left and ppl started thinking back, he would have lost.. Tht day shyam was trying to sway them.. he was assessing everyone's reaction throughout,,
ASR wanted to postpone it.. But he forced him to stay back which led to final confrontation and ultimately his kicking out..SMJ kept on lying and blaming Khushi for everything.. He could not stand it.. Not after all Khushi did...
As far as Dadi is concerned, if today instead of telling him that he was wrong 14 yrs earlier, she would have accepted that she was at fault and saw only one aspect, i would have understood that she was rectifying her past mistakes.. BUt she has not changed an iota.. She is not willing to embrace her role in the past.. she can only see the OW..
Dadi and ASR are uncannily similar... an older version of the previous ASR... I was mentioning day before yesterday she didnot have the good fortune of a person like Khushi too touch her and bring in the good change like ASR...The past has not fully unveiled itself so we don't know yet whether her belief in her son is like dhritarashtra or has valid reason...She is here because she cares for her grandchildren and wants another tragedy like the past to be avoided... She is viewing Shyam as she saw her own son in the past... is not yet aware of the true face of Shyam... once she understands it .. she will be the first one to send him to the gallows like ASR.. because she also has a strong sense of right and wrong like Arnav.
Ok, now that you've put it out like this Koel, it seems a lot more plausible lol! Hmmm interesting side to her character if that is indeed the route she's looking to go down. But where was her care for her grand children 14 years a go? And to avoid the past, shouldn't she at least be willing to confront it? She's very adamant knowing what happened to Shyam, is she seeing the past in various colours, or is she still stuck in her ways based on some other half truths fed to her? Not just her past, but even her present situation is yet to be revealed...! And how much does she know about Shyam if she hadn't been there all these years? She hasn't been apart of Anjali's life, so for her to come to that decision doesn't make any sense. I'm so confused!
I am with you shaz..
Ok, what about asking Arnav the reason of throwing him out?? Did she ask once? Kys dhokha diya di ko?? She assumed that other woman is involved?? HOw and why if she did..
Why she did not ask him, if she didn't assume adultery.. She is not even listening to the side of the story and passed judgement..
ASR when he passed judgment he knew both sides..
He did the mistake of judging once before without the complete truth but not this time.. Her query about anji's pregnant state did not make him reconsider his decision!!
[/QUOTE] She has been asking abt damaad's whereabouts right?because she wants to hear the reason why he was thrown out from RM ppl...Then she will try to negate tht logic with her own views which are deeply rooted in the past events... Aranv passed judgement on the 2nd instance in the truth the 2nd time.. wht happened the 1st time? he believed shyam over khushi b'coz he has seen the guy for 3yrs in his and di's life and he believed his version.., so why shouldn't Dadi believe Damaad s version when it is presented the way it happened to her son in the past.? can she be faulted for her thinking? She blames herself for whta befell her son's family too.. she punished herself .. peetal ka bartan... by denying herself the love of her grandchildren...stayed in ashram like self imprisonment. from the luxuries of life... She has come running to prevent the same pain for her beloved grandson.. trying him to first break the myth he has about his father... because that impression according to her is guiding his present actions.. remember NK saying first impressions are not always the last...she will grdually learn Khushi is unlike the other woman and Shyam unlike his son...
Ok yeh I see that...but Koel, daadi doesn't know Shyam as well as Arnie does. You said it yourself, he believed Shyam over Khushi because he's lived under the same roof as him for three years, so then on what basis is dadi passing judgement? Or is it due to Anjali's influence that she's forced to take Shyam's side?
I've just finished watching the episode, I must say, her dialogue was excellent! Some of the things were slightly contradictory though, like when she mentioned how the past's shadow always remains in one life...in some ways she's still rooted in the past, but she also wants to escape it by refusing to talk about it. Tonight she was pushed to letting Arnie hear the bitter truth, the way she sees it, that his mother committed suicide due to her own weakness. But when it came to her sons past she avoided judgement...lol and I have no idea where I'm going with this!
