Episode 1 - Akhtari Bai Adopts Abandoned Children

This episode is inspired by Husna Bano's true story.

Pooja explains when boys are born everyone celebrates but when a girl is born there is just emptiness. There is a lady who is the mother of many girls and only one is her biological daughter.

Scene starts with Akhtari gluing newspapers and making them thicker then into envelopes and bundling them up. She sees a baby abandoned at a rickshaw stand. She takes her home. She names her Shaheen. Khala is annoyed, she complains about Akhtari bringing orphans home not knowing if their hindu or muslim. Akhtari says if her husband Husnain was here he'd do the same. Khala tells her they can't afford to keep her. Akhtari tells kids to go to school. Akhtari comes to shop to sell newspapers. Asghar tells her she still owes him 150 rupees. Akhtari tells his wife about new girl. He buys two bundles. His wife feels bad for Akhtari. Asghar says it's Akhtari's fault for bringing trouble home.

Farooq, Aktari's landlord is convinced by his friends to throw Akhtari out.

Kids ask to hear Sana's story. Akhtari tells kids how she found Sana in dustbin and how dogs chased her.

Farooq comes to Akhtari's house and orders her to leave or chuck Shaheen out. Akhtari tells kids to pack luggage. Akhtari leaves. Akhtari and family sleep outside. Khala is annoyed and tells her it's Akhtari's fault.

Asghar's wife is worried for Akhtari and children.

Ferooz tells Akhtari that he left his book in their old home. Akhtari comes to meet Faroq. Farooq feels bad and gives her house back. Akhtari and family are happy.

Many years pass. Ferooz tells Akhtari the card guys have came. They asks a few details. Akhtari tells them nowadays she sews clothes. The kids complain why Akhtari hasn't learnt to read and write. They make her write. Asghar's wife informs Akhatri a dead girl has been abandoned. Akhtari realizes she is still alive. Akhtari takes her to hospital. Akhtari uses her 10 years savings. Akhtari and Sana go to pay treatment money. A boy called Asif helps them out. The doctor tells Akhtari the baby is now fine.

A guy asks a rishta for his son and Malouna sahib tells him about Zara. The guy and his son come to see Zara. They like Zara.

Akhtari do the wedding preparations. A Guy comes to buy Sana. Khala slaps him. Akhtari gets angry.

Akhtari gets Zara's rishta. Asif comes with familly with rishta for Sana. But his dadi doesen't want Asif to get married to a Illegitimate girl. Asif's parents want Sana to get married to Asif. Both girls get married. They have bidaai.

Akhtari misses Zara an Sana. Akhtari sees a girl abandoned at her door.

Pooja shows us Husna Bano the lady who this story was inspired on.
