Though the Sunny Leone starrer JISM 2, which released lately, was trashed by critics & detractors alike, writer-producer Mahesh Bhatt stands by the film and says that despite the negative word, JISM 2 has done a good business in its opening weekend. 😲
Mahesh Bhatt says, "JISM 2 did a business of 21.25 crores in the weekend. Despite the negative word of mouth the film got a phenomenal opening. JISM 2 which was made on the measly budget of 12 crore has the potential to do a lifetime business of 30 crores, despite the negative word around the film."
JISM 2 was the most keenly anticipated film before the release and expected to be a sex-laden, skin-show affair & high on content like the first part, however it disappointed many as it wasn't anything close to it.
"Many said that the film is slow; the film has not enough skin-show or sex loaded as it was promoted or touted...I would only like to say that our country is filled with schizophrenic people," 🤣 says Mahesh Bhatt in the defense of the film.
According to Bhatt, JISM 2 has carried the legacy of the brand 'JISM' and has lived upto it.
"JISM 2 has been successful that means the brand is successful. Biggest of the starcast films fail to entice box-office and our brand has done fair business," says the filmmaker.
"When there is a good brand in the market, it has its initial appeal. The entire game is about 3-days business in this age. World over the first 3-days decide the fate of a film. Films are like parachute if it doesn't open you will fall. The films that can't stand on their own for first three days phir chahe kitney bhi acchi film bana loit wont work," he adds further.
Jism 2 has been a total washout. Hence the defence. But atleast this is better than some other producers who throw success parties even if a film bombs.
