he is not genuine, he just cant stand mona moving ahead in life and especially with vineet

so he is making his mom think that he is truly sorry and emotional 

if he really felt bad he would apologize to mona not to his mother

he is manipulating his mother into thinking he has realized his mistake

but he only wants revenge
