Tapping love stories are nothing new on TV, but despite the

oft-repeated theme, Rab Se Sohna Isshq manages to bring

about a freshness to the concept. Blame it on the rather viavacious protagonist Sahiba — who to a great extent reminds you

of Kareena Kapoor's character Geet in Jab We Met — or her fianc Ranveer who seems straight out of a romantic novel, but

the look and the feel of the show definitely click. A true-blue

romantic, Sahiba can think of little else than seeing Ranveer

happy, but his own happiness lies in his dream of going to London someday. And so madly is Sahiba in love with her dream

guy that she is ready to go to any lengths to help him realise

his dream. Interestingly, there seem to be no hitches or villains around to play spoilsport for the two lovebirds, and wedding preparations are already on for the two to get married

soon. Providing a twist here is Sahiba's sceret admirer Daljeet, who has been smitten with her ever since he saw her for

the first time. But it's

a one-sided love and

he is content just

looking at his

woman of dreams by

far.

The high production

value is certainly a

plus point of the

show that's moving

at a steady pace. Performance-wise, all

the three leads have

been impressive so

far. Ekta Kaul fits the

role of Sahiba to the

T as do Ashish Sharma who plays the

flamboyant Ranveer

and Kanan Malhotra

who plays Daljeet.

On the flipside, the

show overall seems

loud, and too filmi at

times, even by the

standards of Punjabi

culture that's depicted here. The story offers nothing new, but

it manages to keep

the audience

hooked. A family

bonder for sure, it

will definitely hit

home for the more

romantic sorts.

correctly said..dis show has nothing new to show...but still it has managed to hook up audience..its good dat rssi has not given high hopes of a passionate luv story..itz a light hearted love story..so anyone can see it for a fun time watch.. Tongue
