One month
had been passed without any heated argument between Arnav and Khushi. Things
seemed to be as it is but there was indeed some change, the change was that
Aakash finally realized his feelings for Payal but the biggest thing was to
convince Manorma his mother who would never agree for the proposal if she by
any chance get to know that it was her son's choice. For this he seeks
.Anjali's help and Anjali assured him not to worry about this matter she will
handle it

Anjali was
sitting with Manorma chattering when she purposely turned conversation towards
marriage.
"Chachi
don't you think ke humain Aakash ki shaadi ke barre mein sochna chahiye" Anjali
started carefully
"Haan per
shaadi ke liye koi larki bhi toh honi chahiye aur waise bhi pehle toh Arnav ki
……." Anjali understood her point but at the moment she has to think only about
Aakash
"Aik larki hai
meri nazar mein"
"What? Who
is she? What is her background and ……." Anjali knew she would definitely going
to ask all these so she was prepared for the questions
"Chachi you
know about Gupta's, I met their daughter Payal in Pooja's party and I swear she
is just perfect for our Aakash mera toh mann tha bus abhi unn ki baat pakki
kerwa doon per phir socha pehle aap se bhi toh pooch loon toh pir aap …." She
left incomplete as she can anticipate the answer
Manorma
thought for a while and then looked at her niece who was so dear to her and now
if she is saying something then it cannot be wrong, "Theek hai Anjali hum kal
Gupta's ke ghar jaaien ge Payal ka haath maangne" As she said Yes Anjali smiled
and she was very happy for her brother

When Khushi
learned about Aakash and Payal she get s super excited, why won't she her
brother is marrying to her best friend and she will be coming here as her
sister in law. She was sitting with Anjali talking about Aakash and Payal's
wedding
"Di kitna
maza aaye ga na, hum bhi kal aap ke saath jaaien ge" She said once again as Anjali
told her that for now only She and Manorma will visit there but Khushi was
insisting to go with them
"Tum Nahi
jaao gi" Reply came but not from Anjali, She and Anjali turned to the door.
This was Arnav. His reply just made her furious and she retorted
"Kyun? Hum
kyun nahi jaaien ge? Aur aap rokain ge humain jaane se?"
"Yes, Main
rokoon ga tumhain aur daikhta hoon tum kaise jaati ho" He said threatening her
in a challenging way
"Aap humain
nahi rok sakte aap ……" she tried to speak but he didn't bother to listen and
turned to Anjali
"Di mujhe
aap se kuch baat kerni hai" He paused throwing a heated glance at Khushi, "Akele
mein" Khushi wasn't that nave not to understand what he meant, she was about
to say something when Anjali stopped her
"Khushi
listen, abhi toh hum sirf Payal ko dikhne ja rahe hain na, abhi kitne functions
honge toh tum unn mein enjoy ker sakti ho na right"
"Di Yeh
….." Arnav opened his mouth to speak when Anjali raised her hand gesturing him
to keep quiet
"Chotte
please main baat ker rahi hoon na" Khushi shook her head understandingly
"Theek hai
Di per hum aur koi function miss nahi karein ge"
"Tum koi function
attend nahi kero gi, miss toh door ki baat hai" Arnav thought
"Acha Di
hum chalte hain aap Arnav Bhi….." She stopped remembering that she wasn't
supposed to call him Bhai, "Aap baat kariye" After she left the room Arnav
closed the door behind
"Chotte yeh
kya hai, tum aise kaise uss ke saamne bol sakte ho, main notice ker rahi hoon
ke tum se yeh baat raaz rakhna mushkil hota ja raha hai" Anjali said harshly
"HAAN HO
RAHI HAI MUSHKIL" He shouted now losing it, "Di aap soch nahi sakti ho apni
zindagi ke 12 saal main ne kis takleef mein guzaare hain, Maa ko mere saath yeh
nahi kerna chahiye tha, koi aur option bhi toh ho sakta tha na per Maa ne kyun
mujh se ……" He knelt down and he did not tried to control his tears. It pinched
Anjali to see him like this, he never showed his pain to anyone not even her
but now …. She knew it was not easy for him and more than him she was afraid
for Khushi when she get to know the truth what will happen?
"Mom Dad ko
aisa nahi kerna chahiye tha" He put his head in her lap and Anjali just
caressed him
"Chotte jo
hua hum usse badal nahi sakte na …."
"Per Di
theek toh ker sakte hain, He said straightening himself
"Di aap
Khushi ko rok lo please aap jaanti ho na agar woh iss shaadi mein rahe gi toh
log 100 sawal karein ge, abhi toh kisi relative ko bhi nahi pata hai such kya
hai per agar Khushi yahan rahe gi toh hum kis kis ko jawab dain ge" That is the
same thing which worried her then a thought strike her
"Chotte
Khushi ke exams start ho rahe hain aur woh apne exams miss nahi kare gi toh hum
usse kisi hostel bhaij dain ge, sirf Engagement tak"
"Nahi Di,
aap Khushi ko jaanti ho kitni zidi hai, woh hostel nahi jaaye gi, but you don't
worry main kuch daikhta hoon" He has to make sure that Khushi will not attend
any single function of this marriage

Gupta
family has agreed to this proposal and now both the families are doing
preparations for the engagement as it was after two days. Khushi wanted to
participate in every preparation but to her bad luck on the engagement day she
had her exam of Chemistry which she hate the most and she has to prepare almost
everything. She was sitting on stairs in the lawn shedding tears when she felt
someone sat next to her

Arnav came
out of his room to go his office when Anjali handed over him a list
"Chotte yeh
sub yaad se le aana"
"Theek hai
Di" He stepped out only to be stopped by the sight in front of him

"Kya baat
hai Khushi tum itni udaas kyun ho?" This was Shyam, she wiped her tears
"Kuch nahi,
per ab hum engagement mein nahi honge, hamara paper hai aur ….." Once again
tears fell from her eyes
"Arre iss
mein udaas hone ki kya baat hai, tumhaare liye hum engagement aage kerwa dain
ge"
"Such
Jeeju" She forget her cry and a smile carved on her lips
"Of course"
He patted her head
"Khushi" Both
looked up at his voice. Shyam smirked to see him while Khushi gave him an angry
look
"Humain aap
se abhi baat nahi kerni"
"Main ne
tum se poocha nahi hai ke tum mujh se baat kero gi ya nahi, just go inside and
remember today I'm going to take your Chemistry test whole book" Arnav said
while she looked at him like if he has lost it
"Kyun? Hum
aap ko kyun test dain au ….." She was stopped by him again
"Agar tum
ne acha test diya then I'll make sure ke tum yeh engagement attend kero and
that is my promise"
"Per Jeeju
ne toh kaha ke engagement aage ho jaaye gi" She was confused now
"Engagement
aage nahi hogi per agar tum ne test nahi diya toh …." And she knew very well
what he meant
"Nahi hum
ja rahe hain" She immediately ran inside and he turned to Shyam who was looking
at him with his arms folded
"Just stay away from her, I'm warning you"
Arnav said his voice was as cold as his eyes
Shyam
amusingly smiled at him, "Arre tumhain pata nhai hai kya Saali aadhi ghar wali
hoti hai to hiss hisab se Khushi ….." He winked and Arnav fisted to control his
anger
"Shyam I'm
warning you get this thing straight to your head, agar meri Di ko tum ne zara
sib hi takleef di toh tum kahin ke nahi raho ge, just remember that" Saying
this he left from there while Shyam was thinking, "Mujhe nahi pata tha Arnav ke tum apni behhon ke barre mein itne
possessive ho well ab toh aur bhi maza aaye ga"

Khushi did
not step out of her room and in fear she almost prepared her full exam of
Chemistry. She silently thanked Arnav for making her prepare her paper. She was
cramming on when someone entered the room. She looked up and get scared
"Test time
Khushi" Arnav said entering in, She gulped and he taking her notes from her
made a test for her
"You have
one hour to do it" He made himself comfortable in her bed and she moved to her
study table
Don't know
what happened to her but she who thought that now she was prepared for the
exams forgot everything and now she was doing nothing but crying. Arnav smiled
seeing her crying as now she cannot attend the engagement
"What
happened?" He asked
"Hu … humain
… bh … bhoo .. bhool gaya" She stammered in her sobs
"Ok then you
know the promise, right" He reminded her and she just nodded her head
"Sorry
Khushi I can't help it" He get up to leave and her crying geared up, he gave
her an irritated look and came out of her room

She was in
examination hall doing her paper half heartedly but with proper care because if
she was missing this engagement that is for her career and she should not
neglect it, She looked at her wrist watch, It was 5:00pm, "The engagement would
be done" She thought and the fact made her sad

When she
reached home everything was finished. All guests had left. No one was in the
living room, she crossed the room with a heavy heart and opened the door of her
room. As she stepped in she found Aakash and Payal standing there. She in no
time ran to Aakash and hugged him
"Khushi,
Khushi stop" Aakash caressed her as she cry
"Listen
Khushi tum function mein nahi thi toh kya hua, abhi toh hamari engagement daikh
sakti ho" Payal said and she looked at them not understanding
Aakash and
Payal exchanged glances and then they made each other wear ring in front of her,
She was now happy and all her regrets vanished

Today was
her last paper. She came out of the hall and inhaled the fresh air. A breath of
freedom. She went towards the main door in search of driver but shocked to see
Arnav there
"Aap yahan?
Driver nahi aaya?" She asked
"Kyun? Main
tumhain laine nahi aa sakta" He asked back
"Nahi
hamara woh matlab nahi tha"
"Ok sit in
the car" Saying this he moved to the driving seat. Khushi silently sat in.
There was complete silence in the car when she felt that it was not the way to
their home
"Hum kahan
ja rahe hain?" She asked
"Office" He
replied precisely

It was for
the first time she came to the office with him and he allowed her in his cabin.
"Sit" He
asked her and she nervously sat on one of the chair. He took out the other seat
and sat in front of her. She was fiddling with her duppata when he handed her
some papers. She looked up at him in question
"Yeh … kya
…. Hai?"
"Divorce
Papers"He replied simply, She didn't get it
"Div …Div …
Divorce Papers …… Kis ……. kis ,….. ki ….. divorce" First thought came in her
mind is that it must be of Anjali and Shyam but when he spoke she felt someone
pulled ground from her feet
"Hamari" He
replied calmly by getting up the chair and sliding his hands in his trouser's
pockets
She could
not believe on her ears what she just listened

So this one is a long update, ok don't throw any chappals at me for the last thing
and yes you read it right 😉 now you can see why Arnav was concerned for her and Rahul's relationship,
he was not jealous and not even feeling for her. The only thing he had for her is hate and this hate will not go away soon
