Yeah Anjali is fainting and collapsing too much! The Sister (Manavi)is still STANDING!
Anjali was always clingy, and manipulative! BUT she was never shown as completley selfish! Yes she can be selfish and needy! BUT she always thought of her brother's happiness! BUT it is true that their relationship LACKED boudaries! This is the reason why it is having all these issues now!
Their relationship is VERY co-dependant! NOT very healthy at all! But we always saw their LOVE as real and selfless! However, NOW they are messing with the "Selfless" aspect! THAT is what people are finding very un-palatable! They expected BETTER of Anjali, but getting WORSE instead!

IPK has Anjali who is clingy and weepy , who emotionally blackmails, manipulates, and has all the family members dancing around her, indiscriminately picking up pills and offering her whenever she is in the frame, ( which is always, since we are talking of EXTENDED SCREEN SPACE, God help us!).

In the very next show we have Maanvi, battling a terminal disease without resorting to high-end drama.

The pregnant lady, for all these naatak, doesn't sport a baby-bump, whereas, the one with cancer goes bald!

Anjali clings to her sibling and is jealous if he spends a wee bit of time with his wife, whereas the latter stands firm in sending her sibling back to her spouse!

It should be noted that IPK was promoted as a love story, where as the other show is all about sibling love!

Before I get bashed for comparing, let me clarify.  I love, or rather loved IPK, and actually started watching the other show by sheer accident, since it comes right after IPK. But the way they have handled cancer is commendable, no melodrama, at the same time, not trivialising it either, whereas IPK's handling of a normal, beautiful experience like pregnancy sets your teeth on edge!

CVs, please, this is a wake-up call!  With such powerpacked talents, esp in the leads, (and by that I DON'T MEAN ANJALI!) please, please do some reality check.  Don't give us such unpalatable characterisations, even if it means the said actress gets an opportunity to show her histri(yawn)onics!

Give us back the show we loved!!
I totally agree with you at this point. Even I wanted to make a similar post but I thought it would not be nice since it is a comparison between two shows. For me IPKKND has been my favourite show though I watch EHMMBH too.The chemistry between our Sarun is just magical and I am lacking words to describe its intensity.I have not seen such intense romantic moments in any of the other shows like the ones presented in our dear show. But truly the way they are handling Anjali's character is not satisfying.I truly believe the way EHMMBH shows the angle of a deadly disease is commendable and it is leaving a very good impact on the society as well.I am not trying to create discord betweem the two shows and my loyalty for IPKKND will always be there because of Sarun.I just wanted to share my opinion since your post was a bang on revelation of my feelings too.

Isn't strange. When The contract for marriage was made, by the end of 6 months jhali's pregnancy will be due but now we will see Khushi leaving RM as 6 months is over but still we don't see baby bump. Very bad or i say worst execution of pregnancy track.

I couldn't agree more with each and every word you said.
And to listen to Daljeet talk about professionalism.
My foot.
Please, this topic should be brought to the front page, it is not meant to compare shows or anything,
But it's a very sensible take on the current problems.
Loved your post.Clap

Even though I do not like the portrayal of the pregnancy and the lack of baby bump, no offence, but you are not allowed to compare two shows, and let me tell you that the other show had it been realistically portrayed you would have cringed, I had a friend and a cousin who had two different types of cancer hence speaking from experience.

the difference is that anjali's character had the same traits even before her pregnancy... she was clinging to her absent husband, brother and religion...arnav and anjali have emotional issues based on their past, i for one am glad that the show has moved past shyam and is focusing on the aftermath of his actions
The show has definitely NOT moved past Shyam.
He is gonna be back for good.
And what about this stupid fainting acting and touching your forehead every now and then? And what about the ever- missing baby bump that I've wanted to see since march?
All for saving your cater.

I don't even watch EHMMBH, but the way Anjali is shown handling her pregnancy did make me go "what the *bleep*"

I am sorry, but I see women who are pregnant going for work, traveling via public transport, handling their job at work and home with amazingly well.
And what did Anjali have to do? She just had to sit in the car! And that was enough to give her headache Stern Smile

I am not going to comment on what she said to Arnav, because well she is mentally unstable; and I guess it was the recent events of everything falling apart that made her say what she said.
But seriously CVs. Being pregnant is not a freakin' disease that she needs to be bed-ridden!
Pregnant women are allowed to move around, you know?
