Shami that's why I enjoy American/ British shows more than Indian shows. For the only reason for their weekly programming. The shows story is tighter and can have more of a focus than daily shows. We get daily soaps here as well but they drag and have too many characters and storylines for me.

PJ...i don't think short series works here...Sony had started it...n i watched Mahi Way...it was great...nice crisp stroy n very well presented...but the second season never came...that makes me think the audience here prefer daily's ...

Daily soaps here shoot six week in advance. Yes they still do drag, but storylines are planned a year in advance but shooting is a good six weeks. Allowing for actors to work relatively good hours

@ Pj: thtast it. american sitcom or dramas r weekly or even daily they have certain storyline. they run season after season. new actors join & old one get out but thing is they dont bent before fan groups.

@ Pooja: one year shooting is not possible for Indian soaps. they frist try the story & watch the TRP and then change it as per audiences acceptance.

@ Sanhita: I was Rishta fan of all those YRF serials. I watched Kismat too from same banner but it dint clicked like the weeklies. I also like Khotey Sikkey of same PH.
