Akash's Double Standards

Is it me or did Akash have a massive go at Payal because she was telling him to eat and he was too worried about his Di and she was being insensitive towards how he feelings.  But then when Mamiji comes in and says I'll give you food, he suddenly feels hungry.  What is that about?  The CVs are making Akash look like a proper prat, no offense to Akshay Dogra, of course he's just doing his job.
