Jai was gulping down drink after drink, she had never been insulted like this in her life. Uday just left her on the dance floor without even excusing himself. How could someone treat Princess JaiNandini like that? Vijay remarked, "Lagta hai apne peene ka record tum todh hi dogi aaj". JaiNandini ignored him. Vijay was having a ball, as he remarked, "Waise humein lag raha hai humein tumpe pehle hi yakeen kr lena chahiye tha, Uday toh aapse husband waale gun dekha raha hai, I mean Patni ko taken for granted lena kyunki woh kehte hain naa ki ghar ki murgi daal barabar". JaiNandini retorted angrily, "Hum mazaak k mood mein bilkul nahi hai, Vijay Bhai". "Shaant humaari BevD(female version of DevD)", said Vijay Bhai. Jai glared daggers at Vijay Bhai. Unnati tried to control her laugh at Vijay's joke and said, "Hum abhi Dada ko dhundhte hain aur batatate hain, ki unhe aisa nahi krna chahiye tha". JaiNandini told Unnati, "Apne Dada se yeh bhi keh dena ki iss k baad unhe ghutne k bal baith kr sabke saamne propose krna hoga, warna hum nahi maanegein". Unnati was confused hearing this and looked inquisitevely at Vijay. Vijay replied in a low tone to Unnati, "Puraani bemaari hai, don't mind her". Unnati nodded and excused herself saying, "Hum Dada ko dekh ke dekh k aate hain". Vijay pulled out his mobile which had been vibrating for some time now. He saw 10 missed calls by Manyata. "Kya baat hai, Manyata Bhai toh dhamasham phone kiye jaa rahi hai", said Vijay. "Nayi Hitler aa gayi hai na, ghar pe! Yehi bolengi jaldi waapas aa jao derr ho gayi and stuff", said JaiNandini irritated. Jai's phone vibrated. "Dekha", said Jai showing Manyata's number flashing. Jai disconnected it and told Vijay not to ignore her calls.
Manyata was rudely shocked when Jai cut her call. "Ab toh woh ladka bhi waahaan nahi hoga, aisi kaun si busy hai woh?", remarked Manyata. Manyata was in big trouble, she had sent her car away as she expected to return with Vijay and Jai. Now, neither Vijay or Jai were picking up her calls. There was no way that she was going back to that disgusting guy's restrobar to search for them, but then she couldn't stand there all night waiting for them. Manyata had wanted to kick herself for coming here. "Gadhi hoon, bilkul gadhi! Restrobar mein aur kya hoga? Mujhe samajh jaana chahiye tha, Rajwaadon ka mahol kaisa hota hai! Agar Udayveer k dost aise hain toh pata nahi woh kaisa hoga!, said Manyata to herself. Unnati heard murmurs and saw Manyata talking to herself venting out her frustration. Unnati was confused and asked, "Koi problem hai?". Manyata was embarassed that the girl saw her in such a situation. "Nahi. Aap iss party mein aayi hain na", asked Manyata innocently. "Haan", replied Unnati. "Main aapse ek favor maang sakti hoon?", asked Manyata. "Kaisa favor", asked Unnati back. "Meri behen, Princess JaiNandini aur mere bhai Prince Vijendra andar hain. Unka phone nahi lag raha hai, aap please un tak message pohoncha dengi ki unki behen Manyata unka baahar wait kr rahi hain", said Manyata. Unnati was happily surprised and her face lit up with a smile as she said, "Rajkumari Manyata". Manyata smiled and said, "Sirf Manyata, woh...", she stopped abruptly as Unnati was smiling brightly looking at her. Unnati said, "I am sorry for staring! Hum Rajkumari Unnati Singh hain. Aapko shayad yaad naa ho". The name rang a bell in Manyata's mind. Manyata brainstormed for a while and she remembered finally, of course she was Udayveer's little sister. Manyata's eyes lit up as she said, "Unnati!". Unnati nodded her head. Manyata covered her mouth with her hand looking at Unnati. She was so small when Manyata saw her last time. "Bohot chhoti si thi jab aakhri baar maine tumhe dekha tha. Udayveer tumhe chhoti bulaya karta tha", said Manyata smiling brightly. "Ab bhi wahi bulaate hain. Wow, tumhe yaad hai!", replied Unnati excitedly holding Manyata's hands. Manyata's nodded happily squeezing her hands. Unnati said, "Tum yahaan kya kr rahi ho? Andar chalo, Dada se milwaate hain". 'Nahi", said Manyata, no way was she going back to that place. Unnati was confused and asked, "Kya hua?". "Woh meri tabiyat kucch theek nahi lag rahi thi toh main waapas jaana chahti thi, isiliye toh Jai aur Vijay Bhai ko dhundh rahi thi, woh mujhe wahaan miley nahi", lied Manyata. Unnati breathed a sigh of relief because she didn't want Manyata to see Jai and Uday dancing together the way they did, she herself did not like it. Unnati told, "Jai toh itni jaldi aane se rahi. If you don't mind, hum tumhe drop kar dete hain ghar?". Manyata immediately refused saying, 'Nahi! Nahi! Tum party chhodh k kaise jaa sakti ho? Its okay, main Jai ka wait kr leti hoon". "Chalo naa, Manyata, I insist. Issi bahaane tumse baatein bhi ho jaayengi", said Unnati. "Thank You", said Manyata smiling softly. "Thank You? Humein jahaan tak yaad hain, hum dost thhe naa?", said Unnati. Manyata smiled and said, "Hum dost hain". "Great, chalo", said Unnati.
Unnati and Manyata chatted away while their journey. Unnati was mighty impressed by hearing Manyata's achievements as a dancer. Manyata also loved Unnati's company who was graceful, beautiful but without any attitude. Unnati also talked about her life and how her journey as a Princess had been till now. Unnati noticed, Manyata's bandaged elbow and asked, "Yeh kaise hua?". Manyata's said exhausted, "Puccho mat, Unnati! Aaj kal log aise gaadi chalate hain jaise poora rasta unka hi hai". Manyata told Unnati what had happened this morning. Unnati said, "Humein bura lag raha hai. Uncle Brij ne kitne pyaar se tumhe woh scooty di thi". "Haan", said Manyata with a sad face. Unnati tried to cheer up Manyata and said, "Tum chinta mat karo. Woh jab repair hoke aa jayegi naa toh phir hum dono ghumne jaayenge uss scooty par".Manyata smiled at Unnati's sweet effort to cheer her up and said, "Unnati, tum bohot acchi ho, Haan Nahi Toh". Unnati smiled at Manyata's catch phrase "Haan Nahi Toh". Manyata thought to herself that she had been judgemental about Uday seeing his friends but seeing Unnati and her talking about her brother so lovingly, Manyata could imagine that Uday would be every inch the guy her father had described. A smile formed on Manyata's lips.
Uday was sitting in her room and having flashbacks of the girl, switching on and off his bed lamps, with a soft smile on his lips
Uday silenced her with "Shhh...", coming very close to her with his own fingers on his lips. Manyata was not scared of him, but his "Shhh..." had such an effect on her that she couldn't utter a single word after that. Uday took out his handkerchief, and pulled Manyata's hand closer. Manyata was confused.
Uday moved his finger seductively upwards from Manyata's cheek to her forehead thus capturing the sweatdrop. Uday chucked the sweatdrop, winked at her and said, "Relax! Hum bas apni jawaani enjoy kar rahe the". "Disgusting", yelled Manyata and stormed off from there now that Uday had released her.
<End of Flashback>
Unnati entered Uday's room and watched him smiling to himself and playing with the lights, she was curious. "Dada!", she called out! Uday stopped playing with the lights as his thoughts came to an abrupt halt. Unnati gestured him as to what was happening. "Aap itni jaldi apni party se chale aaye? Aur wahaan party se bhi achanak nikal aaye. Aur yahaan khud hi muskura rahe hain? Humein toh kucch bhi samajh nahi aa raha hai", said Unnati. "Samajhne ki koshish toh hum bhi kar rahe hain, Chhoti", said Uday with a smirk. Unnati shook her head knowing that she wouldn't get her answer. Unnati told Uday, "Dada, humein bilkul accha nahi laga aap jaise Jai k saath dance kr rahe the. Thank God, Manyata ne nahi dekha. Agar dekh leti toh kya sochti woh aapke baare mein". Uday defended, "Humne kucch nahi kiya, Chhoti. Sab jaante hain, Jai humse chipak rahi thi. Hum toh wahaan se chale bhi gayye the, finally". Unnati shook her head again because she knew that her brother was not going to admit his mistake. "Hum Manyata se miley", said Unnati with a bright smile. Uday got curious and asked, "Woh wahaan aayi thi?". Unnati looked at Uday's expression and said in a mischievious tone, "Uff! Kitni bechaini ho rahi hai aapko". Uday rolled his eyes and said, "Hum toh aise hi puch rahe thhe". Unnati smiled and said, "Woh zyaada derr k liye nahi aayi thi, humne usse ghar chhoda. Aur pata hai? Manyata ko hum yaad thhe. Humne raaste mein bohot saari baatein ki. Kucch waqt k liye toh humein bura lagne laga yeh soch kr ki Manyata humari Bhabhi-saa nahi banegi. Lekin phir socha ki aapne accha hi kiya, usse Riyasaati khel mein naa daal kr, woh bohot pyaari aur bholi hai". A soft smile formed on Uday's lips. "Kya baat hai, Dada! Unki baatein sun kr yeh haal hai toh unhe dekhne par kya hoga", teased Unnati. "Chhoti, bas karo", said Uday.
Next Morning, Komal was getting the gifts ready for the Pooja at Udayveer's palace. The Pooja was being done for Jaigarh's prosperity and Udayveer's well-being. The representative of all the Royal families will be present there. Jai came down all decked up. She was dressed up in a exquisite red lehenga. She wore a beautiful gold necklace, maang tikka, golden bangles and also anklets. Jai was also putting pallu on her head. Komal complimented Jai and put a some kajal behind her ear to save her from evil eye. Manyata came to Komal and said that she had looked through all the gifts and they had been loaded into the cars. Manyata looked at Jai and said, "Aarey waah, tu toh ek dum dulhan lag rahi hai". Jai blushed. "Aap bhi taiyyaar ho jayiye", said Komal. Manyata was confused and said, "Maa, main taiyyaar hoon". Manyata was wearing a deep blue salwar suit and minimum of jewelleries. Komal asked, "Aap yeh pehen k jaayengi?Humein paata hain aapko bhaari bharkam gehene ya kapde pehen ne pasand nahi lekin kum se kum Lehenga toh pehen leti". "Woh Lehenga mere paas nahi hai, Maa. Mein toh kal hi aayi hoon aur mujhe waqt hi nahi mila shopping ka", said Manyata in her defense. "Toh Jai ka koi Lehenga pehen leti", said Komal. Jai was offended hearing this. Manyata noticed this and said, "Chhodo na Maa, waise bhi humare paas aur waqt nahi hai". Komal said, "Humne aapko kal kya samjhaya tha, Manyata. Chaliye jayiye J ka koi lehenga pehen lijiye aur thoda sa singaar kijiyega". Brijraj just walked there and compliemented Jai. Manyat knew that, this was her chance so she asked Brijraj immediately, "Aur main Papa? Acchi nahi lag rahi?". Brijraj replied, "Aap toh bilkul pari lag rahi hain, Beta". "Yeh kapde theek nahi hain kya pooja k liye", asked Manyata with puppy dog eyes. "Bilkul Beta. Aap toh bohot acchi lag rahi hai, phir aisa sawaal kyun pooch rahi hain". Komal glared at Manyata and Manyata held her ears and pouted. "Chaliye humein derr ho rahi hai", said Brijraj. Manyata said, "Sorry, Maa. Aap mujhpe gussa toh nahi ho naa?". Komal said, "Aapka kucch nahi ho sakta, chaliye". All of them left for the Jaigarh palace.
The Devgarh Royal family reached the Jaigarh Palace. All the other Royal families were present there. Everyone complimented Jai on her look on the day. Everyone was excited to see the Princess in town, Princess Manyata. Most of them felt pretty weird that Manyata was dressed up in a simple salwar suit and not in traditional lehenga like everyone else including her own sister, Manyata could sense it and now understood why her mother had insisted on wearing the traditional outfit. Manyata excused herself from the Princessses as she was finding their persistent questions as to why was she dressed like this, why did she leave her home, status as a princess, weaths, comforts to pursue her career in dance, very tiring. Manyata gave her honest reply but she could gauge that nobody understood her simplicity or her passion. Manyata realised how different Unnati was from all of them. Unnati was sensitive, mature and caring. Maybe, Uday was the same. Manyata's thoughts came to a halt when she realised that she had wandered off to the hallway where there were pictures of the Jaigarh Royals. She saw a tall, well built man standing facing Uday's Mother's photo frame. Manyata was drawn towards the voice, that came out of the man's mouth. Uday was standing in front of his Mother's photoframe in the hallway. Uday said, "Humein ab bhi yaad hai, aakhri baar aisi pooja hui thi toh aap saath thhi. Uss waqt ko arsa beet gaya hai lekin aapke saath beetaye har pal ki yaad kisi saaf aaine jaise humare aankhon k saamne rakha hua hai". Manyata was moved hearing Uday's talk, yes she knew it had to be Uday and no one else. "Uss waqt k Uday aur aapke saamne khade Udayveer Singh mein bohot farq hai, Mom! Tab hum sirf kisike bete, kisike bhai, kisike dost, kisike aankhon k taare thhe. Aur ab hum Jaigarh ke Yuvraj hain, jinke liye Raj Dharm se badhkar aur kucch bhi nahi. Humein tab k Uday se bohot jalan hoti hai, Mom, kyunki woh chhoti chhoti baaton pe aansu bahaa sakta thha, par hum aapko yaad karke ro bhi nahi sakte", said Uday. Manyata's eyes were filled up listening to Uday's heart talk. "Uss waqt koi aur bhi humaare saath tha", said Uday but he stopped abruptly as he saw a girl's reflection on her Mother's photoframe. Manyata was wiping her tears. Uday could recognize, the face, it was the same "Tameezdaar" girl. Uday turned around immediately to face her. Manyata's eyes were widened in shock as she saw Udayveer's face, it was Mr.Superiority Complex. Manyata's mouth was half-opened in shock, she was shaking her head softly trying to convince herself that it couldn't be true. Flashbacks of yesterday's bad experiences and her chilhood memories with Uday flashed through her mind. Udayveer was utterly confused, where did she land from, why was she listening on to his private coversation, why was she making faces like she had seen a ghost! "Manyata", called out Unnati, Manyata turned to look at Unnati who was walking upto them with a big smile on her face. Udayveer gave an incredulous look at Manyata. Unnati told, "Manyata tum yahaan ho, wahaan pooja shuru hone waali hai. Aur Dada aap bhi chaliye, pooja toh aap hi k liye hai". Udayveer has breathing heavily trying to digest the fact and filling Manyata up in his eyes, Manyata's expressions had changed, she was glaring daggers at him as if he had betrayed her. "Chalo", said Unnati and pulled Manyata away with her. "Manyata", said Uday to himself as Unnati and Manyata were leaving. Manyata turned to look at Uday with a disgusted expression for a moment. Uday smirked at her in reply. Manyata turned back with disgust.
Manyata reaches the pooja place. Manyata puts her dupatta as pallu on her head. Manyata had been going through a turmoil, she had never thought her life taking such an ugly turn. Uday joined the pooja place and took every elders blessings. Manyata was looking at him trying to evaluate him, the way Uday was talking to his Mother's photo he seemed every inch her childhood friend Uday and not the egoistic, ill-mannered and disgusting she saw yesterday. Manyata convinced herself that her first impression was definitely the correct one, she can never forget the treatment he meted out to her, the way he danced with other girls and the way he was dancing with her younger sister. Manyata wanted to get away from there as soon as possible and forget everything about Udayveer like a bad dream. Raj Purohit asked every Yuvrani and Yuvraj to join in the hawan. JaiNandini walked upto sit beside Uday. Raj Purohit said immediately, "Beta, iss pooja mein Manyata ko baithna padega". Jai retorted rudely, "Jeeji, Yuvraani nahi hain". "Manyata aapse badi hain, Jai", said Komal. Manyata was going to deny to participate in the pooja but one glare from Komal shut her up. "Jayiye, Manyata", said Komal. Manyata went there crossing Jai, as Jai was majorly put off by this. Manyata sat very far from Uday and the Hawan started. Uday was smirking at Manyata and performing the rituals. Manyata just wanted to wipe the smirk off his face and glared daggers at him. Everyone could see the fire between Manyata and Udayveer. Vijay Bhai taunted Jai, "Hawan kund se zyaada aag toh inn dono k beech lagi hui hai". "Yeh bas Uday ka attention gain krne ka ek cheap tareeka hai, usse attitude do!", said Jai frustrated. Uday gave a predatorish smile to Manyata, Manyata's nostrils flared in response. Just then, Manyata began coughing because of the smoke from the Hawan kund. Manyata couldn't take the smoke or the burning of eyes. Everyone looked at her worried. "Nahi ho raha toh uth jao", said Uday mocking her. Manyata threw an irritated look at him and covered her nose with her dupatta and continued coughing and her tears kept rolling down her cheeks. The pooja finally finished. Manyata got up from there all coughing and teary eyed. Jai rolled her eyes at this. Unnati told Manyata that she needs to feshen up and rest. Unnati takes her with her towards her room. Just then, Unnati is called by Giriraj. Manyata told, "Tum jao, Unnati. Main tumhara room khud dhundh lungi", coughing. "Are you sure?", asked Unnati concerned. Manyata smiled in reply. "Ok, yahaan se seedha aur phir left", said Unnati leaving Manyata with concern on her face. Manyata was having a bad headache as a result of the smoke, she unmindfully turned right and went into the room. Manyata went to the washroom and washed her face with water. She felt a bit relaxed and came out of the washroom. She was shocked seeing Uday enter the room and lock the door from inside. "Yeh kya kar rahe ho tum", asked Manyata furiously and coughed. Uday took a step towards her. Manyata said, "Wahin ruk jao, tum", gesturing him to stop. Uday rolled his eyes and said, "Chinta mat karo tumhari izzat khatre mein nahi hai". Manyata threw a disgusted look at him and coughed. Uday rolled his eyes and poured out water in a glass and walked towards Manyata and handed it to her. Manyata ignored him and walked past him, Uday immediately held her hand and turned her to face him with force and said, "Yeh attitude jaake kisi aur ko dikhaana. Waise bhi tumhare khaasi se humein sar dard hone laga hai, isiliye humari rahat k lo, peeyo". Manyata was red with anger, she felt insulted and gulped down the water. Uday smiled unconsciously seeing Manyata gulp down the water. "Tumhe baat krne ki zara si bhi tameez nahi hai", said Manyata in anger. Uday smirked and said, "Tameez hume mat sikhao, darling! Humare kamre mein aa kr humpr hi chillana, badtameezi kehlaati hai". "Main yahaan galati se aa gayi thi. Par tum itni badi galati kyun kar rahe ho?", asked Manyata sarcastically. "Matlab?", asked Uday. "Tumhe shaadi krne ki kya zaroorat padd gayyi? Acchi khaasi bachelor-hood enjoy kr rahe thhe apni kal", said Manyata sarcastically. Uday replied with a smirk, "Samaan kharid te waqt tum window shopping ya trials nahi karti kya?". Manyata was disgusted with his talks. "Window shopping aur trials, haan? Naa mein koi saamaan naah meri behen. Mujhe toh yeh soch k ghin aa rahi hai ki ek waqt pe tum mere dost hua krte thhe", said Manyata diabolically. Uday was pinched by Manyata's words. "Tum jaise adiyal, bigde hue, self-centered aur disgusting insaan maine apni zindagi mein nahi dekha. Tum shaadi kya, tum toh kisi bhi rishtey k layak nahi ho, Haan Nahi Toh...", stopped Manyata as Uday pulled her towards him in anger and said "Shhh...", with finger on his lips. Manyata tried to free himself but he was in mood of letting her go. Uday moved one step closer towards Manyata. Manyata took one step back. This continued, till Manyata hit the bed and fell down and Uday leaned on top of her with anger in his eyes. Uday slowly traced out a curve from Manyata's temple, to her cheeks and her chin with his fingers. Manyata violently shook her face with disgust, on his touch saying, "Badla lene ka behuda tareeka hai, yeh". "Shhh...", said Uday again with anger in his eyes, Manyata became silent under the spell of Uday's eyes. Uday moved his face closer to her till their noses touched, Manyata closed her eyes in fear. Uday's expressions changed as he smirked and asked, "Manyata, are you jealous of those girls?". Manyata opened her eyes and pushed Uday with force. Uday smirked and retreated. Manyata huffed and puffed in anger and tried to open the lock. Uday kept his hands on her and opened the lock of the door, and then showed her the way out with a smirk. Manyata spit out, "Apni zindagi se Uday ko ek bure sapney ki tarah bhool jaungi. Tum humare purani dosti k bhi layak kabhi nahi thhe", and walked out from there in anger. Uday leaned on the door for sometime watching Manyata go, but no doubt her last line had pinched him.
