@X - I only like pickled beets in the jar and it tastes great in salads, boiled beets aren't as tasty to me, tastes a bit too earthy. But the pickled ones are great.

Mom is cooking tonight as her sister and my cousin and her kid is coming over. I haven't seen aunt and cousin in 7 yrs and never saw her child...should be an interesting evening...lots of family drama happened 7 yrs ago that cause the family split to happen...and only end of last yr and this yr the mending has started to happen. It could be a great soap opera.

Lead me to realize that all families are crazy.

Aww, Christine. But it's good that things are on the mend now. It is good for the kids too to have extended families. I am sure you will enjoy getting to know your cousin and her child, and of course, your aunt again. So there is going to be a special dinner tonight. I forgot you have your mom to cook. You are lucky. I enjoy cooking, but it is hard to come up with new things to cook every night.

No. I don't make chapattis every night. It is just because of my dad that I make them during the week. As you know, I still trying to get my weight down a bit more. Midweek I come home, put some vegetables in the microwave to steam, grill some fish or chicken and eat early. I normally cook properly at the weekends but with dad I have to rethink what I do.

Aww, Christine. But it's good that things are on the mend now. It is good for the kids too to have extended families. I am sure you will enjoy getting to know your cousin and her child, and of course, your aunt again. So there is going to be a special dinner tonight. I forgot you have your mom to cook. You are lucky. I enjoy cooking, but it is hard to come up with new things to cook every night.

It is such a relief when feuds are ended. It took my mother's death to bring my brother and sister closer. It will be lovely catching up.
