Hi Xarina, he may be talking to him right now.  Are you done with making dinner?  What did you make?  I am always looking for new ideas.
It is my turn to do dad's dinner tomorrow so I thought I would make it today.  He eats too early and I have to do the grocery shopping Friday evening so plan ahead.  I made Dahl, finished off with garlic, green chilli and fresh coriander.  With a salald of red onions washed and prepared with vinegar and salt and served with chapattis and pickle it makes for a good meal.Big smile

Aris, I made the mistake of once saving Vishal's yellow pant pic on my desktop when I downloaded it to upload to photobucket and forgot to delete it off the desktop...and then I had two days off and she was using my comp and saw it.

But it was okay, she never remembered to ask me who it was...I would have claimed long lost relativesLOL

I wonder what she thoughtLOL.  I remember that weird pic of Vishal.  Come to think of it, most of his pics are weird.LOL

Of late he is looking so blah, I miss the yellow pants days and crazy over-sized glasses.

By the way I love beets, especially pickled in salads. YUM  I'm hungry.

Sounds yummy.  I made dahl last night (Whole moong -green one).  I am planning to make beets tonight with chapatti.
Beets?  Don't know that one.Embarrassed

Beets are really healthy for you.  Not everyone likes them though.  The flavor throws some people off and they are slightly sweet.  They look like turnips but are dark purple in color (in Hindi, we call them chakunder, mostly people use them in salads because of the bright color).  I boil them first, then peel the skin off, dice in small chunks.  Take a little olive oil, and put some cumin and mustard seeds.  Then, put the diced beets with dry coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and lemon juice.  Stir a little and finish off with coriander leaves.  Don't have to cook long since they are already boiled.  You could also add diced potatoes to it.  The pieces have to be about 1/2" chunks.

Beetroot?  Tried them, not too keen I am afraid.

Is it dinner time for you, ChristineLOL?  You could come to my house for dinner.  My husband is out of town, so it's just me and my daughter.  She loves beets, so I am making it for her.  Boiled the beets last night, so it won't take too long to make dinner tonight.

@Aris - thanks for the offer, no it's just 2:53 pm here...so gotta wait for at least 4 more hours before dinnerCry

@X - I only like pickled beets in the jar and it tastes great in salads, boiled beets aren't as tasty to me, tastes a bit too earthy.  But the pickled ones are great.
