Silence- An OS

His baby blue eyes lingered at her face a little more than needed, so desperately stringing a message along. A message she did not want to believe, to soak in as it made her question everything she ever once believed to be true. The air around her neck tightened its hold as a fine short gasp trembled out her lips, denying everything his eyes were reading aloud to her.

His thick eyebrows furrowed together in attempt to hide the raw display of emotion in his face.  He looked helpless, defeated like an orphaned child mercilessly bound to cry at his fate. He brought his chair closer and slowly dared to hold her hand in his palm, careful as though she would snatch it away.

Her eyes slowly dropped to their joined hands and a piercing pain began to erupt in her, making her stomach churn and ache. His touch was gentle, soft on her skin like a feather falling to the ground but all she could concertante was the fact he was not the one holding her hand. An eerie silence clothed the room, sneering at them like a bully snatching food away.

Those shrill baby blue eyes captured her sight, so frantically trying to squeeze out words before he had lost the courage. The onslaught of raw emotion began to soar in his face as his eyes fell to the ground like a defeated solider. He squeezed her hand a little tighter and swallowed back his words, slowly resting his head on her hand.

In the depth of the silence, she found herself wanting to caress him, to hold him in her arms and tell him everything was going to be fine. Her free hand on its own accord ran through his thick raven-black hair, no more afraid of the implications the move would invite. He needed this. She needed it.

Troy's head lifted up as his face slowly grew restive like ants gone astray. His eyes bore into hers, as she silently pleaded him not to whisper a word, for them to just bathe in silence, to deny everything. He watched her, silently questioning her, wanting more.

Her hazel eyes flickered away from the pile of questions stacked in his eyes as she slowly moved her arm away. She swallowed. This wasn't how it was meant to be. This wasn't how she was meant to feel. It was always him...only him.

Footsteps from afar were nearing for a faint sound much like the tapping of shoes screeched on the marble. She once again locked her eyes with the pair hues that were blazing a fiery passion she had only read in well-written books and seen in poorly executed movies. She felt naked under his gaze... exposed, loved. It sent chills to trip down her spine and her heart to bang against her chest, making her breaths shallow, rapid and tense.

The sharp sound of the curtain being dragged across metal caught her attention as she titled her towards the noise.

A man not too old from her age with a thick waist stood tall firmly holding sheets of paper clipped onto a brown pad. His eyes were possibly one of the most beautiful shades she had ever seen. It was a shade of brown too light to be called dark and too dark to be called light.

The man cleared his throat and announced "You got a visitor."

There was a certain adrelian rush that bolted through her as a nerve-wrecking thought whispered in her mind. Could it be? Her heartbeats were now frantic as though a pair of strong hands were squeezing out every emotion within, every blood... every tear. Her eyes blinked an approval. With a slight twist of the head the doctor glanced at Troy and began to walk away.

She tilted her head towards Troy. She wanted to say so much, to express so much but the words that were hanging out of her lips refused to utter and time was running out. Her lashes curved up towards his squared jaw and blue eyes, begging him to forget, and to one day possibly forgive.

Troy's sight slowly wandered to their joined hands. For a second she could swear, his hand trembled as his face slowly dropped at the realization. His eyes lifted up at her still searching, begging for something she was not entirely sure of.

He looked down at their conjoined hands once more and slowly looked back up at her face. Troy held her hand a little closer to his heart and then to his lips, kissing it softly, his lips lingering a little longer than needed. She felt her fingers slowly slip away from his hand as her sight fell on the door.

She willed every bone in her body to sit up, to believe, to wait for him... and only for him.

LOl! I am procrastanating- hence a story. People who read my work by now should realize I dont like giving out all the answers- hence there will always be a part of the story missing - for my readers to work out- its more fun that way. I dont have time to skimp through this thouroughly so I hope there is no grammer or spelling mistakes. Hope you enjoy! Read. Like. Comment. :)

Ps; I hope Troy doesn't come across as whimpy here- need to make his character more appealing- cbf doing that now- I need to my assignment. Ciaoo!

priyanka !! too many questions in my mind.. so troy loves her and she loves someone else but is losing herself in the moment??? or she loved hoim and has been with someoen else?? i think..

you must tell me the backdrop at least in a pm if you don't want to spoil it for others!! btw is troy a character from somewhere or is it just some name you decided on!!

but seriously your expression of emotions and your narration is really one of a kind. . you know how some people write very well but you just cant connect with it, like you don't feel the passion, know what i mean? but in your work there is so much passion its practically impossible to read and not feel...

you kneel with the very best

baby blue eyes hun? i find them creepy sometimes, but yes i closed the tab and suddenly it struck me about all your other stories with blue-eyed men, so i figured you must be crazy about them..

Brilliant piece of writing once again. Like the other member pointed out the element of mystery in your writings makes them stand out. And yup, its good fun to let the readers draw their own conclusions.

This was beautiful, the tension almost palpable. The emotions of both the characters well described, could connect to most. Good work. :)
