Virat and Maanvi both went numb. Maanvi was all okay until Priya had asked this question. Organising her husband's marriage with someone else, what could be more painful? Before she could hear Virat's response, she grabbed Jeevika di's hand and they both exited the house.
The next day was
Virika's marriage. Maanvi was still impacted by Priya's requests and words
yesterday but she tried not to show it. Maanvi wanted this to be the best day
for Jeevika. The marriage was happening in area in the open. Jeevika had always
loved nature and she wanted her marriage to be in the open as well. It was a
bright and extremely sunny morning. The sky was sea blue. The perfect color.
All day Maanvi had been in marriage preparations. She had been working nonstop.
Although Jeevika urged that Maanvi sat down had had a rest, she didn't. She was
going to make this day perfect. She wanted to prove the entire family that
Jeevika was the BEST wife for Viren. She did not want another Virat and Maanvi
situation in the Vadhera house again. Jeevika was going to go to that house to
be happy for all her life. She was going to live happily ever after, as a
princess'Maanvi did not care about her past'she cared about her elder
sister-like's future. Jeevika was going to have the best life. Maanvi had it
At precisely 6pm the
baraath arrived. Dada Ji and Vanshika appreciated all the efforts of Maanvi to
make the location look so appealing and spectacular. All the marriage
ceremonies were completed perfectly. There was no one interfering and nothing to
disturb or disrupt this marriage. Everything was flowing beautifully. As Viren
and Jeevika were taking their "saath pheres" Maanvi remembered how her and
Virat had done so once. She couldn't stop the tears flowing down her cheeks.
Although she had wiped them away as soon as possible, she was certain that
Virat had seen them. She could feel his eyes on her. She tried to concentrate
on her elder's sister marriage. She wasn't going to let Virat get to her. This
day was extremely special for her and she was going to stay happy the entire
After all the
marriage rituals were complete it was time for bidaai. Maanvi dreaded this part
because she was forced to come out being bubbly. Thinking of her elder sister
being away from her was like a nightmare. Jeevika said goodbye to Beeji,
Chaachi, Chachu and Dabbu and last of all came to Maanvi. They had just met
each other after so long. Did they have to say goodbye to each other so soon.
But nor Maanvi nor Jeevika could do anything. It was an old tradition that they
girl always had to leave her family for the boy. No one could change it. Tears
streamed down JeeMan's face as they said goodbye to each other. Maanvi promised
Jeevika that every half an hour either her call would come or she in person
would be at Jeevika's sasural. Virat's heart skipped a beat hearing this. The
thought of having Maanvi in the house made him have a strange feeling. Whether
this feeling was good or bad, he did not know.
After a lot of tears
and emotional talk, Jeevika finally left in her beautifully decorated house.
The entire baraath had gone. Jeevika had arranged for Maanvi to continue
staying with Beeji, Chachu, Chaachu and Dabbu after she left to her sasuraal. Maanvi
felt extremely lonely in the house. There was no one she could tell or express
her feelings to. Jeevika wasn't there and she didn't want to trouble Beeji,
Chaachu or Chaachi at the night's latest hour. So she helplessly lay on her bed
gazing out the window at the pitch black night's stars. They were so beautiful.
Maanvi closed her eyes and eventually drifted off to a restless night's sleep.
Maanvi woke in the
morning to find her phone ringing. It was of course, Jeevika.
Maanvi: Kya di? Sonney do na. Aaj bhi alarm bajadiya aapney.
Jeevika: Chal Mannu uth jaa ab. Bohoth sona acchaa nahi hotha hai. Uth
Maanvi: Lo uthgayi, Maanvi said although she was still in bed.
Jeevika: Bohoth jhoot bolney lagi hai tu. Chal ab uthjaa na!
forcefully sat up in bed and opened her eyes. She was extremely surprised to
see all her belongings neatly packed in a suitcase in front of her. What had
she done? Why was Beeji kicking her out of the house.
Maanvi: Di? Beeji mujhsey naraaz hai kya?
Jeevika: Terri samaan mein pack karvayi
Maanvi: KYA? Di'mujhsey naaraaz math
ho'please! Acha lo mein bed so uth gayi'please di please naraaz math ho na!
Jeevika: Arrey pagli'.tu uss ghar sey
Maanvi: KYA? KYU?
Jeevika: Kyuki tho merrey sasural ari hai
Maanvi: Kya ?! Di?!!! Mein aapkey sasuraal
arri hoon? Aapkey aur Geeju key saath reheney kilye? Such mein?
Jeevika: Ha pagli such mein! Viren ji neyy
khud kaha ki tujhey yaha aaney cha yeh kyuki tu thoreyy din kilye tho India
mein hai'usskeyy baad vapus chali jaayegi. Issiliye jabtak to hai tu merrey
saath rehe gi.
was so super excited. After she had put the phone down she was jumping up and
down with excitement. It was only when she arrived at the Vadhera house when
she realized where she was going to stay. It was the Vadhera house. The place where mountains were made out of molehills.
The place where Swamini Bua was. The place where Priya was. The place where
Maanvi's husband was.
Maanvi entered the house everyone was downstairs. Of course Swamini Bua did not
greet her and Virat just remained silence. Priya again started the topic of
Virat and her marriage being arranged by Maanvi. Maanvi tried to ignore her and
smile her way through all the awkwardness.
few hours passed and it was time for lunch. To make the situation even more
troublesome, Virat had to sit next to Maanvi since all the other spots had been
taken. Lukcily, Jeevika Di was sitting on the other side of her.
a few moments of silence, it was Swamini Bua who started the topic which Maanvi
dreaded the most yet again.
Swamini Bua: Jeevika. Welcome to the
Vadhera family. Ab tho humarrey badey betey Viren ki shaadi hogayi. Ab baari
hai humarrey chottey bettey Virat ki.
heart skipped a beat and she had to remind herself to breathe.
Swamini Bua: Humney sochaa hai ki char din baad Viren
aur Jeevika ki ek shandaar reception party hogi aur ussmey hum Virat aur Priya
ki engagement karvayengey.
clenched her glass of water she had been holding to stop herself from breaking
down. Swamini Bua continued to describe
all the arrangements. It was obvious to Maanvi that Swamini Bua was trying to
prove that although VirMan married each other in a mandir, Virat and Priya's
marriage was going to be much, much better with the approval of the entire family.
Maanvi had been tolerating all Swamini's words but then Swamini suddenly said'
Swamini Bua: Ha'aur Maanvi. Priya ne mujhsey request kiya hai ki tum shaadi
ki tayaari karo. Humney socha ha ki Virat peyy bohoth buri nazar hai
issilye shaadi next week hogi. Kitney paysey lagengey tumsey shaadi ki
preparations karvaney mein?
did it. Maanvi had clenched her hand around the glass so tight that it broke
leaving Maanvi's hand bleeding severely. It was not the fact that she was hurt,
which made Maanvi jump. Instead, it was the fact that Virat had instantaneously
wrapped an arm around her shoulders as if he were protecting her. He had also
grabbed her bleeding hand. Maanvi almost fell of the chair as he did so but
Virat was holding her securely. When he realised what he was doing, Virat
instantly pulled his hand back.
had happened to him? Why had he done that?
Viren and Vanshika immediately took Maanvi to her room to bandage the wound.
Virat and Priya came in from behind as well.
Their attendance was making Maanvi feel not better, but worse. As Jeevika
was extremely concerned whilst bandaging her Maanvi's hand, Maanvi's hair had fallen
slightly on her face. Since she had been holding her bleeding hand with her other
hand, her non bleeding hand had blood on it too. Jeevika was bandaging the
wounded hand therefore Maanvi had no hands free to brush her hair back. She
tried to push her hair back by shaking her head but did not succeed. Virat
stepped forward and pushed Maanvi's hair back from her face. Again, he realised
what he was doing and instantly took a step back. What was wrong with him? Why
was he so concerned about Maanvi all of a sudden?
a little while Jeevika, Viren and Vanshika left. Jeevika did not want her to
leave but Maanvi told her to go with Viren saying that she would be alright.
Virat and Priya left the room to Maanvi's preference. Maanvi got up and went to
the bathroom to wash her face. It was only when she got there that she saw it.
There was a tiny red mark on her maang. What'how had it got there? Then she
remembered when Virat had taken her bleeding hand at the table and then when
they were in Maanvi's room he had brushed her hair off of her face-it had
happened then. Tears fell down Maanvi's face. She looked closer trying to tell
herself that her maang wasn't filled by Virat but it always stayed there. As
much as Maanvi was trying to ignore him destiny seemed to be holding something
else in hand.
had come back to Maanvi's room to get his phone which he had left there. To his
surprise he saw Maanvi not on her bed. He heard Maanvi crying from the
bathroom. He went closer to have a look.
saw her wiping something off of her maang. Her eyes were filled with tears. It
was then when he realised what he had done. Without having the slightest idea,
he had filled her maang.
one entire year'he had once again made Maanvi his.
