Part 1
She picked it up and put it down again. Her mind must be playing games with her. It just could not be true. This is not how things happen. Surely, yes surely her mind was teasing her; having fun at her expense.
She turned away and caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Her hair caressed the silk of her cheeks and tickled the upward bend of her lips. Was she smiling? Smiling to herself? That was it. She had indeed gone mad.
As she turned around, unsuccessfully trying to suppress her smile, her eyes fell on the envelope she had just seen moments ago. It was still there, beckoning her to open it. She reached for it and held it firmly in her delicate hands.
It felt light, she thought.
"Had you expected otherwise?" her mind questioned.
Shaking her head in disbelief at how randomly her mind strayed from the apprehensions that kept her from opening the envelope, she brought it closer to smell it. Her eyes shut on their own prerogative as his distinct fragrant caressed her nose.
Overwhelmed, she ran to her cupboard and placed the envelope inside her pink diary. She would read it later. Later, when her mind could comprehend whatever was written in that letter.

I'd love to hear your speculations! π
