Last Forever"
Choti Bahu ' the show that
won millions of heart with its simplicity ' was unique and a beautiful series,
that showcased the spiritual and pious love so amazingly and effortlessly. It
was very easy to fall in love with Chhoti Bahu and make it a part of our own
life. The characters felt real and we all had unknowingly devoted a part of our
life to them, to the show. Very rarely does one feel connected so much to a
mere show''that it doesn't remain a mere show anymore, it becomes much more
than that!
Dev and Radhika ' the
eternal lovers ' who won our hearts shall remain in our memories forever. From
their mesmerizing eye-locks that made the nation skip their heartbeat, their
innocent smiles that involuntarily stretched our lips too, their romance that
made everyone blush, their chemistry which wouldn't let us tear our gazes from
the screens, their 'Teri Har Jhalak''moment' to Jjiyaa Jaage'..moment'
' all
these moments would remain etched in the heart of every RaDevian across
the
globe for years to come''.or perhaps even forever. They redefined
romance in
their own way, gave a new dimension to it. One may have read many
scriptures about Lord Krishna's and Radha's love...but Dev and Radhika
gave a form to our imaginations of the love story -- They became the "Radha-Kishan" of small screen...and our hearts too.
And not just the characters
of RaDev but everyone associated with Choti Bahu series have made an impression
in our hearts'''..may it be the Sweet Dadima of CB1 or the Protective and
Loving Father, Mansaram of CB2.
It's indeed a sad moment for
CBians now that the show has ended and left a vacuum behind in our hearts. But
instead of grieving, let's look at the brighter side with a smile. That the
show remained for us with 800 episodes ' That we were able to cherish our
RaDev's chemistry for the whole 800 episodes! It wasn't in the history of TV
soaps to return so quickly after they have ended''but Choti Bahu did. And we
got to see two wonderful love stories with our Dev-Radhika in it. So many shows
shut down within months of running, and how many successful shows have got a
sequel within 3 months? Choti Bahu managed to come back, and survive against
all odds and received loads of love from everyone''setting itself apart from
others!! It gave an amazingly wonderful platform for Avinash and Rubina to
showcase their talent. The young actors were appreciated across the globe for
their portrayal of Radhika and Dev, and earned millions of FANS!!
And now, although the
curtains may have come down on our favorite show but the love in our heart for
it shall never ever perish!
As Rubina said, its not the
moment to be sad and shed tears''.its the moment to smile'..as a new journey
starts from here''so that more memories can be made, more love can be showered
on them.

Uh...uh...not yet...don't come out of RaDev's world so soon! (Though I know none of us could come out so soon 😍) But let us now take a quick trip down the memory lane to appreciate the best moments and the not-so best moments of CB! 😉

The track that has been
adjudged as the Best one is'''..when Dev kidnaps Radhika from the clutches of
Rohan and they both run away. The moments shared between Dev and Radhika during
this phase were the most beautiful ones. For once, they were freed from the
shackles of their duties and decided to think about their own future. They
became the strength of one another, love and protected one another, shared
their hearts as close friends, dreamt of a beautiful future together, decided
to openly voice about their relationship and fought against all odds together.
This phase did the work to cement their relationship in a strong manner'..and
brought forth a totally new Dev in front of us. Dev, who was always deprived of
true love, got unconditional love from his beloved Radhika, that made him
realize his own self, gave him the strength to stand on his own and fight.

The most Disappointing track
of the season is''..the Radharani track, the main reason being the execution of
the character and the manner in which Radharani was portrayed. Radha is
worshipped as God and the dialogues and scenes given to her should have been
somewhat more clear and lucid so that audience could connect with her. In this
case, perhaps the audience got a negative vibe from Radha, rather than a
positive vibe!
Okay now coming down to the
most Humorous track. The one track which made the serious atmosphere light and
balmy was''..Kanha/ Radhika track!! Although many had expressed their
apprehensions about this track before it started''.there was no taking away
from the fact that the track was indeed a great pleasure to watch. The manner
in which Rubina portrayed the mischievous Kanha cum Radhika was just splendid,
marvelous!! Before Kanha's entry as Radhika, the entire atmosphere in Purohit
Bhavan was sad and Dev was sulking badly! But the moment, Kanha appeared as
Radhika, the house (and the show too) got a fresh lease of life. The serious,
monotonous ambiance was replaced by naughty/ funny moments of Rads/ Kanha where
Barkha got tit for tat''.and Dev got some much needed gyan! R/K going behind
Barkha to make her life hell by scaring her to wits was the most enjoyable
part!! I am sure we all had a hearty laugh on those moments. Remember the "Egg
Gyan''" that R/K had given to Barkha ;) Also, we loved to watch the moments
between R/K and Dev, where Kanha made Dev realize his mistakes through numerous
examples and direct references''and ultimately made him understand Radhika's
importance in his life. Those priceless preaching from Kanha, made Dev a better
and strong husband who stood by his wife through all the misery!!

Okay, this was a unanimous
opinion!! The most wishful track of each and every CBian was''. RaDev becoming
parents! Sigh. Wish, Wish we could have seen RaDev becoming parents!
Imagine''..😍
Radhika breaking the good
news of being pregnant to Dev, and him feeling on top of the world after
hearing this wonderful piece of news. Afterall, he was about to start his own
family! Dev had never considered the Purohit Family as his own family
subconsciously, and this has been hinted by him many a times. For him, his only
real family was Radhika on whom he could depend on through happiness and
sorrow. So having his child would be the most beautiful moment for him''.since
he would be having his own baby, a new member to his own family. Dev would take
care of his pregnant wife in every way possible. He wouldn't allow her to take
up much work and would scold her cutely when she decided to go against him. He
shall shop for toys and small clothes''and they would have cute arguments while
deciding the gender and name of the baby. Slowly Radhika's bump would become
visible and Dev would start becoming impatient for the remaining months to
finish. Radhika asking Dev to get her favorite food items, as she starts
craving for them''and Dev getting down in the middle of the night to fulfill
her wishes! And then, the day arrives when their cute baby is born''and RaDev
are ecstatic! The newborn brings smiles to everyone's faces''and RaDev start
taking care of their little bundle of joy. The baby would also then become part
of Radhika's daily aarti. Dev would be doing the aarti, while Radhika would be
singing, holding their baby in her hand!!
Oh!! How I wish, they had
atleast shown all of these in Fast Track mode!! 😭
It had to be their Suhaagraat scene! From the moment Radhika enters their room and he showers rose petals on her''to him putting the jewellery on her''.and then the terrace where the bed of roses was arranged! Choti Bahu series has witnessed number of SR's, especially the season 1 wherein we had lots of SR's! (Most of the shows have just 1!!) And I was wondering how are the makers going to make CB2's SR anything different from what has been shown in CB1 (considering, they have shown all kinds of SR's ' from subtle, beautiful to hot/passionate ones) But the makers did bring that blush and smile once again, by creating a sweet SR this time. The lyrics of the song in the background perfectly fitted the lives of RaDev and easily depicted whatever the characters must have been feeling at that point of time. Simple, Serene and romantic''.it set our hearts aflutter as Dev carried his wife to the bed and spoke through his eyes as to what she meant to him''and that he wants to love her tonite and throughout his life!!

We have not one but many
emotional scenes being adjudged as the best ones. The sweet and sour moments
that made our throat go thick and tears well up our eyes''are''
1) Barkha Killing Radhika in a
totally inhumane way ' This moment brought forth anger towards Barkha for
betraying Radhika's trust so badly and also made us cry for Radhika being
mercilessly deceived! Radhika must have never ever thought that her best friend
can go up to the extent of killing her, for getting Dev! Radhika's trust was
slayed! Her belief in friendship was torn in to pieces''.as she struggled to
free herself from Barkha's clutches! But Barkha doesn't relent, she keeps
strangling her neck''until she gives out her final breath!!

2) Dev feeling shattered after knowing that Radhika is the chosen Bride for Rohan ' The guy
feels broken from inside, his hopes were shattered, all the dreams he harbored
for Radhika were splintered within moments! He is left bewildered, perhaps he
wishes it weren't true''.that someone could just tell him that whatever he
heard was just a joke and not truth. But nothing happens of that sort to
console him. Tears keep streaming down his eyes, as he remembers his dreams of
sharing his life with the only girl he loved and from whom he wished to be
loved back!

3) Dev standing by Radhika,
when all questioned her for disappearing for a week ' This was another
beautiful and emotional moment, basically because it portrayed how Dev has
grown strong and how his faith, trust in his wife has become immensely deep.
Even Radhika was touched when she saw her husband standing up for her, and
asking others to stop questioning her. Dev has surely come a far way from what
he was during the initial days of his marriage, where a 'Barkha' could make him
doubt his wife. However, now he shall fight the world to prove that his wife
was correct. He didn't need any proofs from Radhika''.he was there always for
her!
Apart from the above scenes,
I would also like to mention Mansaram- Radhika's scenes in childhood when he
showered her with immense love so as to soothe the wounds, in a verbal form,
inflicted upon the kid by Shanti. Other than that, during Bharadwaj track,
Mansaram stood out particularly because his love for Radhika was much deeper
than Rishikesh Bharadwaj's. The latter though was Radhika's biological father,
didn't understand his daughter's mind completely. However, Mansaram, though not
a biological father of Radhika, loved her, protected her, made her a good human
being, educated her even if it meant hearing taunts from his rude wife Shanti
or being hungry!! His contributions in Radhika's life was much more than what a
biological father could ever give''.since Mansaram did all this despite knowing
that she was not his real daughter''.and yet she was the most closest and
dearest to him!!

Most Serials in India don't
show much of fighting scenes amongst men. Because mostly men don't get involved
in fights, it's the women. Hehe. But CB is different as it gave us some
amazingly wonderful and well-shot fight scenes between Dev-Rohan ' the actors
who had awesome hate chemistry with each other. Their verbal fights or fist
fights electrified the screens!! And yes, not to forget, the men did look
ultra-handsome while they kicked and punched each other. [For me, Dev scored
above his opponent though ;)] Oh, so which scene gets the cake?
The fight scene between
Rohan-Dev in the cloth mill while RaDev were on the run was too amazing!!

The RaDev Boat Scene in the
initial days has been voted as the Most Watchable Scene!! No doubts about this
one as it remains one of the sweetest moments of RaDev!! An apprehensive
Radhika sitting hesitantly in the boat and Dev trying to be as chivalrous as
possible to make the lady comfortable. And then when he feels she is being
scared of the boat, starts a cute argument to divert her mind. Soon his talks
bring a smile on her face, and he looses his heart to the smiling beauty!!

The other scene which got
the tag''..was the RaDev's 2 meeting in Mathura where Dev kept following
Radhika, making her smile all the way. Beautiful and childlike''the scene was

It's a real difficult choice
to make. I mean amongst the whole lot of RaDev moments, which one is supposed
to win? But there is one winner'''.and the one scene winning is''.when RaDev
stay in the farmer's house and dream about their future together.
Keeping aside the fears in
their mind, they just transported themselves in to a new world totally, where
only the two of them existed. They started weaving innocent dreams of how their
day would start, how Rads would see him off to work...how their evenings
would be celebrated''.and they almost come close to share a intimate moment,
but Dev resists''insisting that he would first accept her in front of the
society and only then shall he demand anything from her.

Well, this scene was one of
the most 'ahem' moments of CB! Dev coming out shirtless''catches hold of her
fingers, making them shiver under his touch. Rads meets his gaze in the mirror
and on finding him shirtless blushes. He slowly hooks her necklace, deliberately
taking his own sweet time, knowing his touches would tingle her skin and melt
her heart ;) And then she shudders when a drop of water falls from his wet
hairs''.he gets a mischievous smile and shakes his head to drop more waterdrops
on her. Haaye''.thereafter Dev getting naughty with Rads and she goes all red
as she sees her hubby dearest trying to get intimate and not releasing her''!!
Ahem!!
The cutest moments of the show were during the initial phase, when little Radhika and Dev had befriended each other. Remember the little Dev and Radhika arguing, before going onstage to perform for the Radhashtami mela, as to who is dressed more beautifully! Dev saying that he has his flute, his colorful clothes and his mukut''and Radhika counters his points by saying that Radharani is obviously the more beautifully dressed one since she has nice blue dupatta, earrings etc. Two kids were fighting so cutely that it evoked sweet laughter''..what the two little ones didn't know was they were destined to be each other's for the whole life!!Thereafter their dance, and the later the date that Mr. Dev had for his "friend" 😉

come in different light, evoked the same electrifying response albeit in Hate
relationship!!

Aww!! Those two little
angels who managed to bring huge smiles on our faces with their innocence and
naughtiness. Remember their day out with each other after getting married?
Hehe'..Dev had a date with his wife, even at that age. Their cute fights,

wonderful. Those days of CB2 were really the golden moments of the show!!

Father-Daughter chemistry
Mansaram- Radhika
I think I have said already
much about these two in my above sections. The relation shared between Mansaram
and his daughter Radhika is much deeper than what a biological father and
daughter could share. Mansaram in every sense deserves to be called her father
' as he is the one who brought her up, gave her education, loved and protected
her. He understands his daughter and feels pained at her pain. He is ready to
hear taunts of his wife lifelong, only if it keeps his daughter happy. He may
be a simple poor man''.but his heart is richer than the most rich people!
Father - Son Chemistry
Mansaram - Chenu
Mansaram and Chenu always shared a bitter ' sweet relation. Mansaram was never highly appreciative of his son's wayward means of earning money, and resented this greatly. Yet he knew that his son was not bad at heart and loved him very much. Chenu, too was more closer to his father and dotted on Radhika just like Mansaram. He knew his father better than Shanti or his sister Chanda.

This is one mother-son Jodi where the two are too selfish to the core and can
even put the other in a pit to save their own self!!
Radhika
One of the most endearing characters of Choti Bahu was Radhika. Hearing Shanti's taunts from childhood had made her mind immune to harsh edges of life; and also made her mind stronger. Your heart goes out to the little kid who remains at the receiving end of her mother's taunts always and who's only solace was her loving father. Strong but naive too, however not a fool. For her, the main weakness lay in the guy whom she had started considering her husband since childhood and for this person, she was ready to go to any extent. Dev mattered the most to her; and when something is about him, nothing else in the world matters to her. Since he was the reason she existed! From the moment, she came to know about her marriage that had taken place...her existence depended on her KK's return. Thus when the same guy, broke her trust by asking her to forget the marriage...she feels shattered, but was not in any way ready to give up. When it came to Dev, she took drastic steps for him. May it be entering as Rohan's fake wife or letting Dev announce Barkha as RPtian or fight the Asur! She would go to any extent for her Dev Babu; it didn't matter / or perhaps it doesn't occur in her mind that she was taking a wrong step or not!! She was truly a "Sawar ke Rang Rachi..." lover!
Shanti
The loud mouthed, ill-literate wife of Mansaram was Best written character. Primarily, because her character remained true to itself till the end and also because it added a certain color / spice to the show. From the character's lingo to the manner of movements, all finer things were looked upon. A practical woman, she always thought about her own family first. She was not as evil as Rohan / Barkha...but she was too selfish and self-centered. Her bitterness was not unfounded; she was scared that Radhika would snatch everything that rightfully belonged to her kids! The reason why her character was interesting to watch was for the same -- it was loud, but realistic to an extent!

Padma
Her's is an exact opposite of what Radhika's character was. She was weak, and insecure and depended on various people time to time for her own security. There was perhaps a reason, for she perhaps must have felt alone in a house full of people because her husband left her early in life. She wasn't away from the flaws and was selfish in her own way.
Dev
This was one character whom we hated but still couldn't help loving him. The guy who left his 'childhood wife' shattered made us feel angry...but when the same guy cam back home and confessed to his sub-conscious that he took such a decision for the welfare of the same "Radhika", he made us want to hug him! Such was the character of Dev. He had many flaws -- one of them being insecurity. It was obvious since he was grown up such an environment where everyone treated him as a mere servant. He felt duty bound to the Purohit Family because for him they were the ones who gave him shelter. He was even ready to give up his dream -- of having Radhika in his life -- because he was scared he couldn't give her what Rohan (the would be RP) can give her and also because he didn't want to snatch any happiness from the family who gave him shelter! He was not selfish. But yes, he was insecure and in this he did a lots of mistakes. Unlike Dev of CB1, Dev of CB2 was total humane and had his own fears and shortcomings. He took Radhika for granted even when she became a part of his life and mistrusted her! He was wrong, but he didn't understand his faults because his duty/ dharam was more important. It took Kanha to come down and drill his mind to realize that without giving importance and trust to his own wife, he shall never ever become a good RP. And slowly, steadily he did start walking towards the path which shall make him a better human and an ideal RP. A huge change was seen in the graph of Dev's character. The guy who was first shown as the meek, insecure person who stood with his head bowed down in front of Virat/ BB and adhered to their wishes...transformed in to a strong man of his own thoughts and voice.
Barkha
Sometimes people become too selfish to realize the worth of what they have and instead run behind what they can't get. Barkha was one such example. She had a gem of a friend in Radhika but she instead decided to ditch her to get "Dev" Though Barkha was a bubbly and sweet character in the start, her inner - mind's desire to get whatever she wishes to...was depicted too. She was one woman, who always had a go-get attitude...and had always expressed the same to Radhika as well. However, she took her attitude towards the wrong goal and ultimately lost the battle!
Rohan
He was his Grandfather's Grandson! In every sense! The only difference being that his GrandFather did all the mistakes under the pretext of saving the "Family Prestige" while this guy did it for his own selfishness. Rohan's manipulative streak was evident since the very first episode he was shown. This guy always used others to get his own way around -- he didn't wanna play Kanha and he sweetly pushed Dev in to it. After growing up, he didn't wanna marry and innocently faked to be Dev and bad-mouthed about "Rohan" So for him, manipulation was always in his finger-tips...however these were dismissed off as mere pranks. From the pretense of becoming a kid after the "Fire Incident" to the repeated claims of having transformed in to a nice human...all these were just an extension of his manipulative personality. Being a pampered, spoilt child he was used to having things at his disposal and when he doesn't get it...he uses his DDjee's ways -- no fighting or screaming, just manipulating situations!
Chenu
How can one forget the mischievous prankster Chenu who had a good heart? A guy who was keen on earning money through wrong means, but had all the respect and love in the world for his sister Radhika 😃 He was an angel for sure in the life of Radhika, who brought a smile on her beautiful face. Although his character did become too arrogant at one point, but he understood his faults and decided to keep his sister's faith in him alive. 👏

"Bhola bhala...humne to yeh socha hi nahi!"
The dialogue literally made us smile in almost every situation. More so because her such exclamations would be followed by some witty line, that would bounce off the Purohit Member's heads (who thought themselves to be the most smartest of all) but her points most of them did have logic! But yes, there was no taking away that was foolish and naive...and usually became the pawn in her MIL's hands! 😆 But it was fun watching her. 😉
Mansaram Family
Well, Choti Bahu 2 had many families and all were peculiar in their own manners. But the family that stood out was...Mansaram Family. 👏 I guess this family had all the colors and realism attached to it. If there was a doting father and dutiful daughter, there was a brainless (trying to scheme) daughter, a loud mouthed selfish mother and a naughty brother. Not an ideal family -- but none of the families in CB are! However this family comes close to being real and adds real spice to the show. Wish they had shown more of them!

Choti Bahu Forum could have never been the same without its members. Just as a house is transformed in to a home because the members who live in it, this forum became a second home for many because of the virtual relationships many shared with each other over here. We smiles together, laughed, cried, struggled, fought with each other yet at the end of the day, we couldn't stop ourselves from coming here. 😃
The forum cannot work on its own. Each and every member's contribution was utmost necessary. May it be the Written Updaters who took a chunk of their time from personal lives day after day to give us the detailed updates, or the Offscreen reporters who were quick enough to upload AviNa moments for us...or the Creatives of the forum, who kept the atmosphere entertaining with their creations and stories.
