PHIR SUBAH HOGI
A satisfying episode which sees Sugni in the doghouse due to her very courageous and eloquent speech , voicing the injustice and unfairness towards the Bednis by their supposed "Masters". Sugni's words seemed to be having their desired effect and it was apparent that the truth in her words were too close for comfort for the great Thakurs—who looked visibly uncomfortable . At one point , when the enraged Thakur Jwala Singh erupted and announced that there would be a village Panchayat to judge Sugni—-Kamal Singh's groveling added fuel to his fire and he decided to punish Sugni's entire clan for her travesty . Thakur Vikram's efforts to diffuse the charged up atmosphere was snubbed by Jwala Singh who stated that since he was a "Shehri" and unaccustomed to the local customs he could stay away from the Panchayet if he desired. Sugni's words seem to have sparked off a fear in Jwala Singh's mind that he must punish Sugni and her family as an example to quell further acts of revolt by the Bednis. Kamal Sigh's dramatics of trying to commit suicide didn't sit well with me but it managed to visibly move the other members of the family. It was heartening to see Gulabiya jump to her daughter's defense and stop Kamal Sing from dragging Sugni to publically apologise to the Thakurs—— this act of Gulabiya's indicates that subconsciously she also condones Sugni's speech, and her extreme sense of self respect couldn't allow her daughter to apologize for speaking the truth face public humiliation. What remains to be seen is whether Thakur Vikram Singh will intervene or not.
