"Virat, kahan ho tum?"
Maanvi sighed. She wasn't even allowed to move from the bed and Di had gone out and Virat had left mysteriously, saying that he had a surprise for her.
"Main yahan hoon, baalike." Virat came in with a tray in hand, smiling widely at her.
"Kahan the tum? Tumhe pata bhi hain main kitna bore ho rahi thi?" Maanvi pouted and
Virat laughed. He was unusually cheerful today, she noticed.
He walked in up to her and sat on the bed and offered the tray to her, still smiling.
"Yeh kya hain?" She eyed the bowl suspiciously.
"Aise dekhne ki zaroorat nahi hain. Yeh maine banaya hain." He said frowning, and pulled the bowl towards him, and carressed it.
"Virat? Tum theek toh ho na? Aur kya banaya hain tumne?"
"Main bulkul theek ho. Mera mazaak mat udao. Yeh lo, soongh ke batao." He offered the bowl to her.
She smelled it. It smelled like.. spinach soup?
"Virat, tumne palak ka soup banaya hain?" She looked at him incrediously.
"Kyun? Tumhe acha nahi laga? Mujhe laga ki aaj Bhabhi nahi hain aur tumhe soup pina tha toh.." He trailed off and looked away, visibly upset.
She smiled and put her hand on his cheek and made him look at her.
"Maine kab kaha ki mujhe pasand nahi? Tumne mere liye yeh sab kiya? Thank you."
She carressed his cheek with her thumb.
He grinned again, and she laughed lightly.
"Ab chalo, khilao mujhe?" She opened her mouth, and put her hand down.
He smiled and took some soup in the spoon, and blew at lightly before putting the spoon in her mouth.
"Kaisa hain?" He tasted it, but he just hoped it was enough to make up for Jeevika's absence.
Maanvi smiled at him. Her eyes welled, just at how nervous he looked. What had she done to get the world's best Partner?
"Bahut acha hain! Itna nervous hone ki zaroorat nahi hain. Waise kahan se seekha tumne?"
He put his hand on the back of his neck and gave her a sheepish smile.
"Woh, uss din tumne Bhabhi ke liye banaya na? Mujhe thoda, thoda yaad tha. Aur, uh, maine Bhabhi ko bhi phone kiya."
She was touched. She never thought anyone except her sister would do something so special for her. She smiled at him before saying,
"Acha, aao, mere paas betho." She patted on the bed, beside her.
He handed her the tray and walked around the bed to sit beside her. Over the past few days, they had gotten very comfortable with each, and Maanvi noticed how close they sat, and it felt completely normal to her.
He took the tray from her, and she put the blanket over his legs before turning to him, only to find him gazing at her intently, with a dazed smile on his face.
She looked down and coughed purposely, he did that a lot now, and she failed to understand why, but didnt say anything about it.
He fed her the soup till the bowl was completely empty.
She placed her head on his shoulder and sighed contentedly, and he placed his head on hers and smiled thinking about how comfortable they both were together.
"Virat?" She lifted her head and turned to look at him.
"Hmm?" He looked at her and smiled.
She placed her hand on his cheek and went close to him, pausing for a minute before kissing his cheek. She felt his tense, but lingered there for a minute, taking in his intoxication cologne.
"Thank you." She whispered, before pulling away.
