Hey everyone,

I will be adding my short Hindi/Urdu poems here. Some of them are songs, while others are just a work of poetry.

Aye Mere Yaar

This is song that I wrote after the release of Atif Aslam's song, Hona Tha Pyaar, from the 2011 movie, Bol. I wrote the song on the same scale and tune as the original one.

Aye mere yaar, tu sun le pukaar
Saansein meri... hain beqaraar

Aaja bahon mein meri, masti mein jhoomkar... jhoomkar
Chhu loon nazron se main tujhe, aur kar loon main sabar.. dekhkar
Hosh mere... ab hain faraar

Meri zindagi mein mujhe, mili hain khushiyaan... tujhse hi
Teri parchayee bhi judi, hai kaheen na kaheen... mujhse bhi
Tu sanson mein... meri shumaar

Aye mere yaar, tu sun le pukaar

Meri Jaan

This song is based on the song Meri Jaan by Vasundhara Das. I had written this song in the August of 2005, while on my break at work. I have also posted the original song at the end of my version. Again, the scale is the same, but the lyrics are completely different.

Har ishq ki sada bhi tu hai meri jaan
Har husn ki ada bhi tu hai meri jaan
Har sabz daal paat tu hai meri jaan
Har din ke baad raat tu hai meri jaan

Meri tanhayee aisi, meri angdayee aisi
Teri aahat ke dam pe, aankh khulti ho jaisi
Tere lafzon ki baarish, teri baton ki aatish
Aaj bhi dil mein paida, mere karti hain larzish

Sab surkhiyon ki jaan bhi tu hai meri jaan
Sab mehfilon ki shaan bhi tu hai meri jaan
Sab sargamon ka raag tu hai meri jaan
Sab sardiyon ki aag tu hai meri jaan

Tere saaye ko chhoone, haath kar doon main aage
Faasla chhota hai par, door kyun mujhko laage

They're great from what I understood LOL

..my poor hindi doesnt let me understand a few words Ouch

thanks for sharing Desii.. keep up the work!

BTW..this "jaan" of yours must've been so inspiring to make you go all poetic ;)
