KKR has figured out the right combo. Using up both McCullum and Kallis at the top only ensured that if a spinner was on, both would be tied down. Gauti moving to the top allows for a major assault against both pace and spin.
I like Kallis batting @ #3 or #4. I don't think McCullum is the right guy to keep wickets - they should have kept Bisla in the team. It's however worth dropping Yusuf Pathan, who has achieved nothing for KKR since he got signed here.
For the overseas players, Kallis, Lee and Sunil Narain should be automatic. For the 4th slot, if it's in a match on a pitch that supports pace bowling, include McCullum. If, otoh, it's either a heavily batting or spinning track, leave out McCullum, and instead include either Morgan or Tendo. (Incidentally, is Morgan too leaving like Peterson & Shah for the England WI tour??) I doubt that Shakib needs to take that 4th slot - his batting ain't all that great,, and the bowling lineup would ideally be Lee, Balaji/Unadkat, Sunil Narain, Iqbal Abdullah, Bhatia/Shukla and Kallis.
So I'd normally have in the lineup
Morgan/Tendo (if McCullum's not included)
I'd prefer Bhatia to Shukla, but not have both in the same team. Same for Balaji and Unadkat. I suggest dropping Yusuf, and given that McCullum is currently a part of the overall team strategy, have Bisla in the side as the keeper, and batting @ #4 b/w Kallis and Tiwary.
