Gopi dropped Meera because she slipped.. Radha wanted revenge on Gopi and hence decided to do away with Meera. She took her to a cliff's edge but Gopi found Meera there and tried to carry her away to safety. She slipped and Meera fell into the river below.

The others were enjoying the picnic a little way off..
