Fancy Parvati bhabi for a neighbour?
If the answer is yes, then Palm Court Apartments in Malad is where you need to find a flat in. The building has the maximum number of flats owned by television stars. Reena Thapar-Kapoor spoke to some of its starry residents to find out just what it feels like to live next door to the people you work with
• Swetta Keswani (15th floor)
The other day I spotted Gauri Pradhan and Hiten Tejwani standing in the parking area. I've still not moved in but I make frequent trips there as I'm in the process of giving final touches to the interiors. Otherwise I do drop by to meet Saakshi Tanwar and Ali Asgar who've been colleagues and friends.
• Nikhil Arya (14th floor)
I've been living in Palm Court since six months now. A lot of other celebrities live in the vicinity but the only one I invariably run into is Pracheen Chauhan. Apart from him, I sometimes spot Ali Asgar zooming about in his car.
• Hiten Tejwani (10th floor)
We haven't shifted in yet. But we do bump into our colleagues off and on. I think it's great to live around people who you know well. I'm sure it's going to be great living in Palm Court. In fact, both Gauri and I are looking forward to it.
• Gaurav Chopra (5th floor)
I think our complex is the place for actors as it has all amenities. I haven't seen Hiten at all. Just yesterday I saw Swetta and waved out to her. I do meet Pracheen and Nikhil. Since I'm not a Balaji actor I don't mingle around much in those circles.
• Ali Asgar (4th floor)
I was the first from the TV fraternity to buy and move in Palm Court. The idea was to be away from the work atmosphere after I'm back home. But now with so many other actors moving in the same complex, this has become like Bandra of TV industry... The only person I run into often is Parvati bhabi... i.e. Saakshi Tanwar.
• Pracheen Chauhan (3rd floor)
I think all actors living in the complex are extremely busy with their respective work. But on and off we do spot each other. Nikhil Arya and Gaurav Chopra are the two I often meet. In fact, we do hang around together as and when we find the time.
Other actors in the building
• Juhi Parmar
• Ashish patil (Balaji director)
• Saakshi Tanwar

Q How did Saath Phere — Saloni Ka Safar happen?
Q If you had come across a dusky plain Jane in real life, would you have fallen in love with her like your onscreen character Nahar does with Saloni?
Q Do you identify with Nahar from Saath Phere and Rudr from Sindoor Tere Naam Ka in real life?
Q Is it true that the previous episodes of Sindoor were scripted along the lines of Amitabh Bachchan's rebellious character in the Bollywood blockbuster Trishul?
Q You always said that Kirti has been your sole guiding force in the industry. Comment.

When stars blow a fuse
They're known to throw temper tantrums, though not always without reason. Some of our television actors tell us what has made them fly off the handle lately
I'm a true Punjab di kudi, and so I fly off the handle at the smallest instigation. I once lost my entire make-up kit because of the negligence of a unit hand. My instant reaction was to scream my lungs out at him. But I later felt bad because he was a middle-aged man.
I once saw a cabbie having an altercation with a girl on the road. He was getting overly aggressive and she looked like she needed help. I intervened, and tried to bail her out, but the matter escalated into a brawl. I don't generally lose my temper but the cabbie actually pushed me and we got into a fist fight.
Afew months ago, I realised that I was being stalked. A weird man was following me around. I tried to ignore him for a day but when I saw him again the next day I yelled at him on the street. He ran away immediately. One normally tends to get scared in such scenarios, and this gives the opponent the upper hand. But I feel offence is the best form of defence.
I'm famous for my temper. Although, I must say that with age and experience I have sobered down. I am a perfectionist and I want things to happen just so, and if they don't, I lose my cool. Flinging mobile phones at people was a regular affair with me before. It was my way venting my irritation. But not anymore.
A drunken driver was messing around with me on the road, and threatening to bang into my car. I tried to avoid him but it reached a point when I had to stop my car, pull him out and teach him a lesson. Despite my beating him up, he didn't react as he knew he was at fault. Drinking and driving is a crime, not just a hazard.
A credit card executive, who looked positively dubious, was troubling me endlessly. He kept visiting my house for days until I decided to taken serious action. I asked the security guards of my complex to hand him over to the cops. As expected, he turned out to be a conman.
I saw a street woman beat a small boy mercilessly on the streets. I was so angry that, on an impulse, I went and pulled her away by her plait. My sole intention was to free the boy from her. Trust me, I don't regret my reaction to date.

National award-winning actor and a man of many roles, Sharad Kelkar, is capitalising on his chemistry with the camera
Originally a Gwalior guy, Sharad Kelkar, is a Grasim Mr India finalist; an MBA in marketing and now, the undisputed hunk factor of two Zee serials - Sindoor and Saat Phere. His journey into showbiz began with advertising. A small cameo in the offbeat National Award-winning Marathi film, Uttarayan, whetted his appetite and he started doing the rounds of production houses.
A cop's role in Akrosh, a few episodes in Bhabhi and Sharad's television innings was off to a good start. Along the way he met and married TV actor, Kirti Gaekwad. The twosome continues their romance as an on-screen couple in Sindoor. With him doing two dailies and the missus doing three, quality time together is a premium.

Sharad-Kirti going the Hiten-Gauri way!
"Wherever you go, I'll follow," this one's adage that has been doing the rounds in relation to real life couple, Hiten and Gauri, but it seems that another TV couple has taken over the distinction - Sharad Kelkar and Kirti Gaekwad now star in two shows together and they make no bones about the fact that they are enjoying their stint as Zee's golden couple.
Kirti's recent entry in Saat Phere saw the couple again playing husband and wife....like in Sinndoor and in the former, Kirti's introduction was at quite a dramatic moment with the show poised on an interesting point! Although the 25 May episode said that Kirti's character's dead, a little bird tells us that she will be part of the show for some time to come! We are sure that the couple will have a great time enjoying each other's company!
