So we have an interesting trend here. Indian Serials show women dressed in beautiful sarees and always doing the right thing which doesn't always come across as the right thing. Rather I feel that there is a push to brainwash women into being servants led by Kekta Mai.
Then you have these music videos that are quite raunchy. Old songs being revamped into...I don't even have a word for it. Movies are completely opposite of the serials. Women are much more forward in movies and at times they come across as not so smart as do these women in the serials. Oh and not to mention the fact that men always have to look bad to make the women look better (i.e., Jai and Bani, Armaan and Jassi, Vikram and Shyamalee) Hmmmm...so the message is that in any case women will always be the dumber sex?
From time to time in movies, you can see the girl next door and perhaps with characters like Nimmo on TV, we can find relief. Overall it is either half naked girls or half minded girls. Drives me bonkers.
I don't have a problem with intimate relations. I do have a problem when intimate relations are being shown minus the whole aspect of safe sex. I do have a problem with the fact that women on TV today are complete hypocrites. The prime example being Jassi. Jassi started out as someone who was witty and we could all relate to her. All of a sudden she was having premarital sex and the makers quite easily forgot about it. To make her look better, Armaan always had to look bad. To top it all off, she was a hypocrite to the greatest extent. I don't understand why there was a stamp in her name. After everything, who did she represent?
There are times when Mona Singh who played Jassi would say that she could relate to Jassi and other times I thought that Mona Singh loathed Jassi. Mona Singh couldn't even get her thoughts right about Jassi.
Anyway, I did a lot of unnecessary rambling. This was bothering me along with Salman Khan.
