NA BOLE TUM NA MAINE KUCH KAHA
8/6/12
Megs rightly described Monu as
"teesra bachcha" —— I think even
Megha was taken aback at the display
of emotion , the hug and hesitation
to reveal the truth regarding Ridz . At
least one thing's for sure thanks to
Ridz Megs can once again say " mera
Monu mahaan", but methinks Ridz
well intentioned lie has managed to
make matters worse rather than
better for Mohan once the real truth
is out . Starting from the hug of relief,
the cute early morning wake-up
scene, the walk to the bus drop-off ,
the messy room , walking out
unabashedly in a towel —— all these
nuances of Mohan , compelled
Megha to reach the conclusion that
her "Man-child Monu" was still a lil
boy at heart and hence her statement
—– it seemed to me that she
sounded more like an indulgant
mother , than a wife . The kids do
seem to be putting a spoke in the
wheel of Meghan romance , and I
hope the much needed honeymoon
happens —minus the kids, that is
——Jiji ki jai ho, for always finding
ways to help Meghan catch some
stolen moments together ! Mohan
looked every bit the big bro walking
his siblings to school and the water
bottle and bus incident with Addu
was cute—I love to watch the Renu -
Guru rivalry and Guru's expressions
are just ROFL ! I fail to read the
expression on Ridz face—as I
couldn't figure out whether she was
more angry or sad at Mohan's words
and behavior—– even though she
seems like a positive character , I was
thinking that she would smile an evil
smile at any moment and become
negative——so much for
expressionless emoting ! All in all an
enjoyable feel good episode thanks
to the efforts of the NBT team !

Television industry is growing in leaps and bounds and with advent of more revenue, the makers are widening their working base and increasingly shooting at outdoor locations. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (Sony Entertainment Television) unit flew off to Dubai, Diya Aur Bati Hum (Star Plus) team went to Singapore, and the latest we have learnt is that the cast and crew of Colors' popular show, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha is all set to shoot in Nepal.

According to a reliable source, Megha's (Akanksha Singh) family will surprise Mohan (Kunal Karan Kapoor) and Megha with honeymoon tickets for Nepal. On the other hand, Renu (Rinku Karmarkar) will also book tickets of the kids for Nepal. Hence, the kids too will be seen going to the exotic locale with Megha and Mohan.

The team is currently preparing to go off to Nepal and if sources are to be believed, they will be leaving between 13 to 15 of this month. They have a four to five day shoot planned in Nepal.

Said producer Sudhir Sharma of Sunshine Productions, "We are still working on the plan, but nothing has been finalized yet."

THE YOUNG AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Move over mothers-in-law! Youth-centric stories are finding favour with TV audiences over saas-bahu sagas

As TV shows get more diverse and up-to-date, shows catering to younger viewers' sensibilities are taking centrestage. Saas-bahu sagas still work but it looks like young ideas are finding many takers on the small screen.

Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon story is focused on a love triangle. Other shows look at such varied themes as the life of a young widow, love versus arranged marriages, the relationship between two sisters still in their twenties and even the challenges involved in

We have a Mills & Boonlike love story in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, while on Rab Se Sohna Ishqq, the raising teenagers.

Producer of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Sudhir Sharma says, "We were looking for fresh subjects. Even our movies today are youth centric and people love the themes they see in a Yashraj, Imtiaz Ali or a Karan Johar film." He feels that the audience is mature, yet young at heart. "The girl who was a fan of Miley Jab Hum Tum might be married now and yet she's a modern girl, unlike women from her mother's generation. The mindset of the audiences is changing, which is why such concepts are finding takers."

Kinaari Mehta, who is the producer of Rab Se Sona', says that the milieu has changed. "After a mature romance in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, we needed a change. Even a 40-year-old person relives their younger days through youth-oriented shows. Stories about living in and having a baby out of wedlock don't work on TV, so the relatability factor is essential. Along with family issues, topical subjects work," she says.

Barun Sobti, who tasted success with his portrayal of an angry young man in Iss Pyar Ko', says, "Different kinds of stories and wellwritten scripts work. The script is the hero. People love the chemistry and romance portions in our show as well as the silly fights that the characters on the show have."

Young on TV:

ISS PYAAR KO KYA NAAM DOON: a soppy romance

RAB SE SONHA ISHQQ : young love triangle

LOVE VS ARRANGED MARRIAGE: the pros and cons of such matches

EK HAZAROON MEIN MERI BEHNA HAI: the relationship between two young sisters

NA BOLE TUM NA MAINE KUCH KAHA: the travails of a young widow

my residential complex had a water
drought due to a massive blackout in
India, and we were forced to store as
much water as possible. As I was in the
midst of this crisis and trying to get to
every bucket I could find, an overflowing
bucket caught my attention and I froze. I
froze with the thought that everything in
life has a certain capacity. Everything in
life comes with a time span attached to
it. Whatever is following from here on, is
a mirror of this fragmentation, that my
soul would still crave that last drop of
my favorite show Na Bole Tum, no
matter that it had transcended into a
different world.

"Haan
na" or "Arrey yaar" may have been
pinched off of Mohan's lips, as he dons on
a new role. The carelessly, carefree,
courageous yet caring Mohan has worn a
coat of extra responsibility and frustration
at the same time. The khitpit, ladaai,
jhagda, maasoomiyat between a bohemian
lad and a young widow has come to an
end.
Mohan is twice married in his current
status. The bohemian is showered not only
with his love but also with the responsibility
of two kids. He became a father even
before he could connect the puzzles of a
marriage. Overnight, his carefree life had
turned into a platform of rules
and responsibilities.
If NBT had to go ahead (which it did), it
was next to impossible to keep the same
storyline rolling. This brings a quote to
mind, "First comes thought, then
organization of that thought into ideas
and plans, then transformation of those
plans into reality. The beginnings as
you observe, is in your imagination."
~Napoleon Hill ~ and add fate and destiny
to your plans and you get curve balls along
the way, reel life or real life. Though we still
have the same Mohan, but the
circumstances are not 'Mohan-ish'. Mohan
has become the puppet caught in the
throes of destiny and fate, a volatile
combination.

hostile
reactions from the fans. These are testing
times for those wonderful artists who have
donned various roles in the show and have
entertained us to the hilt. It is testing time
for these artists to live, breathe and
perform their fictional roles, even as they
are ruled by so many other factors and
boundaries that a show encounters. These
artists are normal human beings like you
and me, who are performing their assigned
roles, giving their best efforts to
their chosen profession, who do not
deserve any hatred. They are normal
human beings who we have applauded for
their outstanding performance, and now all
of a sudden why do you think they deserve
the brunt of our hatred, when the
storyline, mind you 'NOT THE ACTORS,
NOT THE CHARACTERS', is going in a
different direction. It is the responsibility of
these hardworking artists to mould
themselves to the changes in the story line
and do justice to their roles
and profession. It is not humanely positive
or ethical to hold the actors responsible for
the change in the story line or the
characters, and they definitely do not
deserve the hatred.
NBT blossomed from a bud to a blooming
rose. We have breathed in its fragrance and
have been mesmerized by its beauty and
essence. But when it came to the point of
shedding its petals in winter, we turned our
backs on it, just like I see a lot of viewers
doing so. It is a natural transformation, a
law of nature that even as a flower dies at
the end of its season, it will come back in
its next cycle naturally. We shall see those
beautiful buds of happiness and hope
come back in a matter of time. If we can
accept this natural cycle, then why is it so
hard to accept the transformation in a
fictional show? I might sound hopelessly
hopeful, but yes, there is no harm in
keeping faith that NBT has small buds of
rejuvenation growing. And if I'm not
terribly wrong, they are already growing, if
not blooming. The bucket holding the
initial aura of dilchaspi is filling and
creeping to the brim. And it is left to us to
accept the transformation in creativity and
set our minds to fill a bucket with a
different dilchaspi flavor. After all "Faith is
believing in something when common
sense tells you not to." ~Miracle on 34th
Street~ and mind you, this is a fictional
show!
watch "Mohan Bhatnagar" handle his new
life and responsibilities. His plane has
landed in a novel territory, and he is caught
in a bizarre chain of events; whether it is a
change for better or worse, the story shall
move on its designed course. NBT has been
my desi swaad amid an array of overseas
delicacies. Being once-a-lover-always-a-
lover, I've decided to use a new bucket to
catch the overflowing water. Why change
my status to 'orphan' just because my
parents aren't willing to increase my pocket
money?
All I can say is "The way of the creative
works through change and
transformation, so that each thing
receives its true nature, and destiny
comes into permanent accord with the
Great Harmony; this is what furthers and
what perseveres." ~ Alexander Pope ~

Team of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha is all set to shoot in Nepal!

(6mins ago)
The formula to include international shooting locations in television dailies is becoming the trend these days. As noticed in shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hain, which brought the sites of Dubai and Diya Aur Baati Hum which is currently running with Singaporelocations, have left the other shows far behind in TRPs and popularity.

Now the latest to join the trend is Colors' show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, if buzz is to be believed then the whole cast and crew will soon take a flight to neighbor country Nepal. According to the source, in the coming episodes Megha's (Akanksha Singh) family will surprise Mohan (Kunal Karan Kapoor) and Megha with honeymoon tickets for Nepal. On the other hand, Renu (Rinku Karmarkar) will also book tickets of the kids for Nepal. Hence, the kids too will be seen going to the exotic locale with Megha and Mohan.

The team is currently preparing to go off to Nepal and if sources are to be believed, they will be leaving nearly around 13 to 15 of this month. They have a four to five day shoot planned in Nepal.

While producer Sudhir Sharma of Sunshine Productions, said "We are still working on the plan, but nothing has been finalized yet."

So it's time to Nepal now!

Outdoor shoots are no longer a luxury
restricted only to silver screen but it is
extensively witnessed on small screen
too. The channels and makers leave no
stone unturned to shoot their stories in
exotic locales, which makes for an
excellent visual treat for their viewers.
In the recent past, Ekta Kapoor's show
Bade Acche Lagte Hain on Sony had their
lead pair Ram and Priya visit Australia for
their honeymoon. Following the trend, is
Colors popular show Na Bole Tum Na
Maine Kuch Kaha, where the newlywed
couple Mr. and Mrs. Bhatnagar will be seen
taking off to Nepal for their honeymoon.
As seen in the episode, Jiji Bua wants
Megha and Mohan to go on a honeymoon.
However Megha does not want to add
financial pressure on Mohan. On the other
hand Mohan wants to ensure that he gives
Nanhi and Addu all the comforts and be a
good father to them. Mohan and Megha's
mutual love and affection for one another
prevents them from planning their
honeymoon. Realizing Megha's concern
and as a thoughtful gesture, the Vyas
family decides to give them a surprise and
sponsor their honeymoon trip to Nepal.
Rangmunch team got in touch with Kunal
Karan Kapoor who has won the hearts of
many with his perfect portrayal as the
clumsy carefree Mohan Bhatnagar, and
asked him if he is looking forward to the
trip. Kunal responded saying "I'm looking
forward to Nepal so I can cross the border
and run away into Tibet." Kunal's response
cracked us up completely. Further, when
asked if he would take Megha along, he
says "haha…only my Camera."
Aakanksha Singh who plays Megha and is
loved by the audience for her simplicity
said, "Yes I am looking forward to it. I hope
the audience enjoy the forthcoming track
and sequences, and the scenic beauty of
Nepal."
The respective cast and crew are expected
to leave for Nepal mid next week and will
stay almost for a week. If sources are to be
believed, viewers are in for a visual treat of
some scenic locations where Megha Mohan
romance will bloom, followed by a dramatic
twist.
At the moment Mohan thinks that Megha is
aware of the entire truth about his
marriage with Riddhima and has accepted
him despite knowing the truth. So will the
new twist in tale be the revelation of the
whole truth?
As the plot thickens, tune into Colors every
weekday at 10:30pm to see Mr. and Mrs.
Bhatnagar Ki Dilchasp Love Story.

TV wedding and TRPs

TV wedding and TRPs
A still from Kya Huaa Tera Vaada
How can there be a happily ever after on a soap? After all, the rifts, twists and misunderstandings fetch more TRPs! Showmakers are now coming up with shaadi mein twist formula to rake in more eyeballs.

Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch KahaAmrit ManthanMadhubala — Ek Ishq Ek Junoon,Rab Se Sohna IsshqPavitra RishtaRishtoon Ke Bahwar Mein Uljhi Niyati, Ruk Jaana Nahin, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, Kairee: Rishta Khatta Meetha, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, have tracks running with complicated twists.

When the sympathy factor associated with the tribulations of the protagonist lets the viewer relate to the show, the makers feel it's worth the effort. "Engagements and marriages are such occasions which get maximum eyeballs and Indian audience loves drama. Nothing can be better than creating complications during these important days," says director Ravindra Gautam.

Producer Sumeet Mittal, says, "Complications are present in real life successfully, you need to hook the audience, and that is why writers are bringing out the finer details of relationships — simple as well as complicated." Prashant Bhatt, fiction head of a GEC says, "The intensity of drama differs from real and reel life. Colors, cultures, expectations, emotions, all come under one roof during these occasions. Everyone wants to have the perfect moments, and both families that are involved make sure nothing goes wrong on such prestigious days. But with ego clashes sometimes situations change. TV shows are eye openers for those who are in love, but sacrifice their relationships for their families."

TV show makers always say that they take inspiration from real life for their shows, but does one have so many complications in real life as shown in the show? Producer Hemal Thakkar says, "Fiction has to make sense. We add more drama because a TV show is a progression of moods and feelings. Complicated relationships always make the story interesting and take it forward. The story has to be told in a way which makes the audience's desire to watch the soap, connect with it and follow it regularly." Actor Adaa Khan says, "Complications in relationships sell on TV as the viewer gets a momentary pause from their own problems and see extreme possibilities in a dramatic way."

Actor Pawan Shankar says, "Content on TV is more subtle than reality. Real life is too complicated. There are so many issues that one can't show on screen. The canvas of life is far more varied and filled with more turns and twists."

As to how much these 'complicated' twists can impact viewers, only TRP ratings will tell.
