You must be thinking why post this post today
but friends as there is lot of confusion about day celebration for gurupurab with new calender..Some say 31st December,others put 5th January.
I am posting this post today,point is we remember Guruji
Badshah darvesh Guru Gobind Singh
The tenth and the last Guru or Prophet-teacher of the Sikh faith, was born Gobind Rai on Poh 7, 1723 Bikrami Samvat (22 December 1666) at Patna, in Bihar.
His father was approached by kashmiri pundits to save their faith from Mughals.Guruji had said there was need of a martyr and was thinking who could be that person .Guru Gobind singh ji at age of 9 had said to his father that who could be greater than you...
Guru Tegh Bahadur soon afterwords proceeded to the Delhi, and courted death on 11 November 1675 for not giving up on his beliefs and not agreeing to convert to Islam.
Guru teg Bahadur ji is called hind ki chaddar for his great sacrifice.
after his execution a strong wind storm had blown therby giving his devotees a chance to get his body and head away for cremation;showing the world how god helps those who are hsi true devotees
So at tender age of 9 the 10th guru became leader of sikhs and their spirtual guide.
A great Philosopher and poet
Guruji was a great poet and he wrote about Divine supreme one god,love for humanity and a strictly ethical and moral code of conduct. He showed that sword should be raised to help the ones in need of protection and not to oppress the innocents.He used his sword to fight the evil Moguls.He emphasized the importance of using sword in self respect and honor.
In his biography Zafarnama..which he had also sent to Mughal king Aurangzeb he remarks
When all other means have failed, It is but lawful to take to the sword.
The institution of the Khalsa was given concrete form on 30 March 1699 ;where guru ji chose 5 Pyaaraas and called for all Sikhs to put singh and kaur as last name;depicting brave as lion

Guru ji created Khalsa to fight for right to practice one's own faith;justice and self respect.
The seize on Anandpur as directed by emperor aurangzeb was long and emperor's army had taken oath of quran to let Guruji have safe passage on leaving the fort.guruji knew the true intention of evil army.But sikhs ordered guruji to leave by making him follow order of 5 Pyaaraas.
At last, the town was evacuated during the night of 5-6 December 1705. But soon, as the Guru and his Sikhs came out, they were attacked by river Sarsa.His family was scattered.He along with his two sons and 40 Sikhs fought at chamkaur Sahib where everyone except 5 Sikhs were left alive.he was then asked by Sikhs to escape for sake of sikhs...in lakhi jungle,in cold month with no shoes guru ji still was content and wrote his shabad..
Miter pyaare nu haal mureedaan da kehna
there by teachings us to be happy with whatever god offers
yaarde da saanu sathar changa Bhath khedeyaan da rehna..
whatever god gives we accept with smile
Guru ji sacrificed his 4 sons and his father for justice and humanity.His great personal sacrifice has no parallel in history.

Guru Gobind Singh's two younger sons, aged 7 and 9, and his mother, Mata Gujari, after the evacuation of Anandpur betrayed by their old servant and escort, Gangu, to the governor of Sirhind, who had the young children executed by burying them alive in brick wall on 13 December 1705 for refusing to convert. Their grandmother died the same day.
Guruji went on to fight many battles with his small army against mughals.
He used to make his sparrows fight with hawks of enemy and hawks were killed.
He made normal oppressed Indian people into brave humble kind solders of humanity.
He used to say
sava lakh se ek ladaun tabhi gobind singh naam kahaun
Guru ji went to south and also sent Aurangzeb his biography Zafarnama which was in Persian language.He challenged emperor about execution of his conduct and morality of his actions against normal non Muslim population of India.
guruji was attacked by 2 pathans in south even though he survived the fight his wound later reopened and led to his passing.but before passing he made Sikh holy book guru granth sahib eternal guru of Sikhs.
Guru ji emphasized that true god can only be found through writings of holy granth.the shabad(the writings) became eternal guide to wards path of spiritual enlightenment for Sikhs.
His legacy to world and India remains a inspiration for many...
He remained a force to help the needy...
