In the show Mahshivratri is being celebrated because Shiva gives Chandra a new life, which is one of the reasons why Mhahashivratri was celebrated...without the moon the world would have gone in pralay...
which is one of the ledgends behind why Shivratri was first celebrated

Read from greatness of Shivalingam onwards

In one episode in last week's Gyan Guru, a question was asked about which flowers are never offered in Shiva pujas, to which the answer given was Ketaki.  The Guruji there narrated the story about how Shiva divined that the Ketaki flower was lying, and punished him that way.

Interesting but in the Om Namah Shivay Serial they show how a hunter unknowingly was out hunting and could not find any animals to hunt. It started to rain and a storm blew in and he took shelter under a Bilwapatra Tree. His Family worried about him not coming home. He got up in the tree to hunt but still could not find any animals to kill. As he was waiting he twisted the Bilwa leaves and threw them below. Unknown to him there was a Shiv Ling right under the tree. As he throws the leaves down his heart starts to change, so when the first animal comes ( a deer), he can't kill it. The deer begs for live and the Hunter grants him one last chance to say good bye to his family if the deer promised to return. The deer does so. So the hunter waits, but when the deer returns he still can't kill it. So Mahadev pleased that both kept their promise makes the Deer a human and the Hunter a king. At least this is what was shown in that serial.

But I loved today's episode! Om Namah Shivay Friends...

Mahamrityunjaya mantra was given by Markandeya muni as per yesterday's epi.
What Shukracharya got from Shivji is called Mritsanjeevani vidya. That is
OM HAUM JUM SAH OM BHURBHUVAH SWAH
OM TRYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE TATSAVITURVARENYAM
SUGANDHIM PUSHTIVARDHANAM BHARGO
DEVASYA DHEEMAHI URVAARUKAMIVA BANDHANAAT
DHIYO YO NAH PRACHODAYAAT MRITYORMUKSHEEYA
MAAMRITAAT SWAH BHUVAH BHUH OM SAH JUM HAUM OM .

There is another reference of Mritsanjeevani mantra in Durga Saptashati:
Chandi Mritsanjivani mantra from Durga Saptashati mantra that bestows life from death:
Om hrim hrim vam vam aim aim mritasamjivani vidye mrtamutthapayot thapaya krim hrim hrim vam swaha  II

No, Ganga was regarded as a daughter of Shiva.  In the Ramayan, in Bal kand, it's described how Bhagiratha did his tapasya to get Ganga down, but he had to have Shiva down there ready to break her fall so that she didn't wash away the entire earth from her impact.  Since Shiva received her in his hair locks and then released her, she appeared as emerging from Shiva, and is also considered a daughter of his as a result.

OTOH, Kartikeya was recognized as the son of several deities - Shiva & Parvati themselves, Agni, Ganga, Shravan (the forest godess) and the Krittikas.  But that doesn't make Ganga Shiva's wife.

Shiva had only Sati & Parvati as his wives.  Durga & Kali, by virtue of being forms of Parvati, are therefore recognized as his wife as well.  In other words, despite all of them, Shiva, like Vishnu & Brahma, is monogamous.

Sati can not unite with Shivji because she is  ahuman. Vishnuji has showed  a way, she has to get over her may (me, aham). Then even  a human can unite with God.

Shiva Sutras The Supreme Awakening

This spiritual treasure, gifted by God to the sage Vasagupta for the upliftment of human kind, is considered to be one of Kashmir Shaivism's most important scriptures.

They are also called the Maheshvara Sutras.
At the end of the Shiva's Cosmic Dance, he sounded his Damaruka 14 times. And
from these 14 Sounds of Damaruka, evolved 14 Sutras.
These 14 sutras encompass the phonetics of the Sanskrit language

The Shiva Sutras are divided into three parts. And according to Kshemaraja, the commentator, the three parts correspond to the three means (upayas) for the attainment of liberation as revealed by Kashmir Shaivism. These upayas are the means for traveling from individual limited consciousness to universal God consciousness.

The first and highest means, for highly qualified aspirants, is called shambavopaya. The second, for aspirants of medium qualifications, is called shaktopaya. And the third, for inferior aspirants, is called anavopaya.
